I am so grateful for Oak Forest. RJ has created an atmosphere like no other. I have been to countless facilities and was never able to maintain sobriety until going through Oak Forest. The program focuses on the 12 steps, which are essential for recovery. Everyone is very supportive and compassionate, this community has enabled me to build genuine relationships with others. Oak forest taught me tools for living that I have been able to implement in my life. The gifts that Oak Forest and sobriety have given me are greater than anything I could have ever dreamt of. Oak forest gave me my life back and much more. There is a solution available to all who seek it. The solution has helped to align my mind, body and soul. If you want to make a change and live a life filled with peace and love, I highly recommend Oak Forest. Thank you RJ and everyone at Oak Forest for everything you do. You have not just saved my life but many others. I can not thank you enough!!✨

When I came in to oak forest I had reached a major turning point in my life. Everything I had tried before, controlling my drug use, substituting different substances as well as multiple treatments stints had failed miserably. I came in initially just to get a break from the hell that my life had become with no hope for long term continuous sobriety. I had been extremely isolated for years and had absolutely no social life to speak of. Upon arrival I was informed that the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous were the core of the program and I instantly became closed off to the idea of trying the process out because I had preconceived notions about the steps from past experiences. Once I finally came to a breaking point and made the decision to go through with working the steps my life began to change immediately. Slowly at first but the experience grew and developed over time without me even being aware. Along with the steps I think that the community at oak forest was a huge part in my recovery as for the first time in years I had people in my life I still call my friends to this day. The staff here are very knowledgeable and have always had my best interest in mind. I don’t think that I would have ever willing chosen to attend AA meetings, get a sponsor, work the steps and then begin taking other men through the steps if I hadn’t had the environment of recovery that oak forest provides. Coming here has given me a new hope for my future that I never in a million years would have thought possible and I certainly couldn’t have achieved on my own. I have nothing but the utmost appreciation and gratitude for being lucky enough to find my way here and to take advantage of the opportunity that was offered to me by RJ and the team here at oak forest. Thank you oak forest for giving me an experience that I wouldn’t trade for anything and the desire and drive to live a life worth living.

If you are serious about saving a loved one's life, or your own life, then Oak Forest is for you. Oak Forest saved me from the depths of a deadly addiction that was destroying my life, my family, and friendships. RJ and his program fundamentally changed me - showing me how to live a life of quality sobriety and how to maintain it. I am so grateful for the 12 Steps being at the center of what Oak Forest does - and now sponsoring people in Alcoholics Anonymous is the bright spot of my life. I could have not done this without Oak Forest's help, and the relationships and community I have found is beyond what I could have fathomed. OFR's family inclusion has helped us grow through this process, through Family Therapy and countless resources for my parents and relatives to understand the inside and out of the recovery process - helping us grow closer than ever. The clinicians and mentors are some of the most extraordinary people I've ever met and are now some of my closest friends. The spiritual precedent and example they set for me was instrumental in adopting this way of life. I simply cannot say enough good things about Oak Forest. Thank you RJ and the OFR Team <3

At first I thought I was gonna go for 30days. Ended up staying there a little under a year, and so happy I did. Great staff with a lot of experience. Helped me out of a place I felt hopeless in. Lots of fun, and a hard working group that pushes you to achieve quality sobriety. All the steps are given to you to strengthen and maintain this sobriety. It’s also a great community. Very happy I went to oak forest and can honestly say they can help you if you need it.

We are so grateful to Oak Forest Recovery (OFR) for helping our family member get sober. OFR was truly a cut above other treatment facilities, starting with RJ, the owner answering our phone call on a Sunday, when we were initially trying to get our family member placed. Within hours, our family member was welcomed into OFR and in a place where he could get the help he needed. Unlike other treatment facilities, OFR recommended 90 days of residential treatment, as opposed to 30 days that so many other facilities recommend. Also, unlike other facilities that claim to be 12 step based, but have little connection to the AA community and program, OFR is legitimately connected to this community and residents begin working the 12 steps from the beginning. OFR is truly a dual track program with a highly professional, caring and effective team of therapists. We would recommend OFR to anyone who really wants to get sober and is seeking a facility that is serious about helping them do so.

Oak Forest Recovery is a life-changing, life-affirming place. It’s authentic and touches the healing place in all its residents. Founded and led by RJ Elizarraz, OFR is a treatment center like no other. RJ, as everyone calls him, makes certain that the program meets the personal needs of each person fortunate enough to join OFR for treatment. You will know when you meet him, that this place, his place, is a new and better home than you’ve likely ever known. It’s the end to the chaos of substance abuse and the beginning of a new and more authentic life for you. If you want real change, real hope for a better life, run don’t walk, to Oak Forest Recovery.

Oak forest changed my life! I got sent here for trauma therapy… it’s a recovery center but it also caters to people who have severe trauma. The staff are very supportive and trusting you can talk to them about anything . At first I was really scared because it’s a new setting for me but once you warm up to everybody it’s a breathe of fresh air and the community is awesome. had a really good time there and they treat you like family and not just a client. You will love it.

I came to Oak Forest completely broken and lost in life. My disease of addiction had taken my self respect, self esteem, and my soul and the only thing I had left to lose was my life. Being desperate I reached out to OFR and asked them to help me, willing to go to any lengths necessary to save my life. From my first phone call to my last therapy session after 90 days I was treated with the utmost respect and provided with the highest level of care imaginable. Their clinical staff are extremely knowledgeable, professional, empathetic, caring, and only had 1 goal in mind, to help me help myself and give me the most solid foundation for a recovery that will hopefully last a lifetime. What I particularly loved about their program is that it is 12 step based and I believe that is an integral part of building that foundation. There is also a large community of people in recovery intertwined with the OFR community and that is why I am staying in CA and not going back to NY. I am forever grateful to each and every employee at OFR and am happy to say that many of them are now my friends. If anyone is in need of help and ready to do something about it, this place WILL SAVE YOUR LIFE. If anyone reading this would like to know more about my experience reach out to OFR and they can help put you in contact with me. THANKS AGAIN FOR EVERYTHING OFR!!!!!!

I came to Oak Forest completely defeated. I had gone through two previous treatment centers relapsing after completing the first one and relapsing the entirety of the second one. Upon coming to Oak Forest my self esteem was nonexistent, my hope had dissipated, and I was determined to scare everyone away from me. I was immediately welcomed with open arms and joined a community of people who not only thoroughly accepted me, but willingly forgave me for my flaws and mistakes with deep understanding. I was held until I could stand on my own two feet. The 12 step program that Oak Forest revolves around truly saved my life and turned me into a person that I can love and cherish. Grateful does not even sum up how I feel for Oak Forest. For anyone scared of change and sobriety this is a place to pause and process. You will be helped and supported without judgement or shame. Growth is what happens here and I have seen nothing less than that.

My 19-year-old daughter participated in the amazing Oak Forest Recovery program after attending 2 other programs and unable to stay sober. She found her tribe, and currently has 9 months sober, and feels part of a community for the first time in her life. Her self-esteem is growing by the day, and she takes great pride in helping others who struggle with the cunning and baffling disease of addiction. RJ and the OFR team truly care!! It is NOT just business to them…they understand these are young people’s lives at stake. It matters!! I’m a truly grateful mom!

Oak Forest Recovery saved my family’s life!! I say this because this amazing community RJ and his team have built never gave up on us. My wife - Margaux and I had a beautiful recovery life for many years in the Conejo Valley (Thousand Oaks) AA community. After years of being pillars in our Step Groups, sponsoring and being of service giving back - we had a child together. This brought on many struggles we weren’t prepared for under the isolation of a pandemic and the physical set backs my wife was challenged with - we slipped back into active addiction. After almost 2 yrs of this darkness we searched for help. The comprehensive, structured inpatient program OFR offered seemed the best fit. But it was the tireless effort of interventions and multiple detoxes my wife endured and the partnership with “The Advocacy Group” founded by Lauren Brock…her expertise in running simultaneous interventions on both my wife and I, helping us into our beginning - entering detoxes and then inpatient treatment was truly a stroke of thoughtfulness and genius by RJ. That coalition and togetherness intelligently/gracefully changed our lives. The openness to try unorthodox solutions is what this family needed. The humility and conformity required by these amazing human beings is inspiring and helped me for one to keep surrendering as well as fighting for the right things. OFR’s loving team of practitioners and clinicians supported us as a family building a specialized program for a married couple with a small child. Their vigilance and accountability facilitating our new recoveries escorting us back to our local AA community - insisting we find sponsors, taking us to daily meetings, allowing us our visitations, literally caring for our small child - impossible to articulate the level care, support and investment in our family. Maybe we call that true love? The relationships we have made (life long friendships), skilled doctors and therapists who really understand trauma and codependency woven by decades of selfish/addictive/compulsive behavior unpacked gently by this unique culture that resides at the Oak Forest Recovery properties simply doesn’t exist anywhere else! And certainly not for the very reasonable fee structure. It all culminates at the Bonfire meeting on Thursday nights where one feels the safety of hundreds sharing in this journey and common solution we’ve all found. You have to experience it to really understand the magic RJ and his incredible people have manifested there. I urge you to come and be a part of it. I will let the social media marketing and images and videos portrayed speak for itself - brunch on Sundays, Malibu beach outings on weekends, countless weekly community events, BBQ’s, daily workouts at the health club - all of it builds a complete robust multi faceted approach to treating the mind, body & spirit. Lastly, a sober living transitional environment we invested in for a total of 6months recovered our dreams and delivered us together as a family in our home parenting our son Jagger with grace, mercy, hope and dignity. RJ and I often have reflected back to the days of my family’s darkest addiction - where it all seemed overwhelming. If everything went the way he & Lauren predicted it would if we just “bought in” and stopped negotiating - it would probably look like it does in my life today. If you’re reading this and you’re filled with confusion, bewilderment, despair and suspicion of these programs out there - the cost, the motives…you need look no further than Oak Forest Recovery. They care, they’re legit and they get profound results! I’m proud to call myself alumni of OFR and feel gratitude when they ask me to do anything - speak at a meeting, take a call with someone on the fence, sponsor a tough case…I am honored and have a sense of duty. Thank you RJ! My brother you saved my family - God bless you. Love & Light, Chris J. “CJ” and the Jimenez family… Margaux, Jagger, Leo & Bela

I have been to many treatment centers prior to oak forest. I had never stayed sober for any length of time prior to Ofr. Since I left oak forest I did relapse but I was able to get sober very quickly. The staff at the treatment center are fantastic. They were there for me anytime I needed it. I felt a sense of unity and belonging that I had never felt before. They helped me create a path for me to live and thrive in. I owe for my life. Rj truely does care about everyone that comes through Ofr and will go above and beyond for the clients.

Finding Oak Forest has been my biggest blessing. I think more than anything, alcoholics and addicts just want to be/feel apart of, and that’s exactly what this place does. It promotes unity - family. It almost forces you into this fellowship that not only loves and supports you, but holds you accountable. There’s something really different about this place - something special. The people involved in OFR is what makes it what it is. The clinical/treatment team, the staff, RJ - they care. And despite the urge to give up on ourselves, they never give up on us. I’m so grateful they didn’t give up on me. They saved my life. Thank you OFR for giving me all the tools to build the foundation on which my recovery is built today. Just over 13 months sober now and my life is so full. My family and I could not be more thankful for this place.

Nothing beats Oak Forest - it really is one big family that feels like a home where people care and and push you to succeed every day. The program they run is thoughtful, individualized, and without a doubt helps you succeed not only in recovery but in day to day life skills. I tried everything, but Oak Forest really set me on the right path to a truly healthy and, for the first time in a long time, genuinely happy life. The facilities are well taken care of, comfortable, and it’s a super nice place to stay with great people and awesome staff. There is no place I would recommend more than Oak Forest, thank you for the memories, good times, and opportunities.

Oak Forrest recovery and it’s fellowship has brought me and my family up from a state of hopelessness, and provided me with the tools and the fellowship necessary for my recovery. This twelve step program helped me overcome a mental, physical, and spiritual void, that I was not strong enough to overcome prior to my admission. Thanks to the OF structure and guidance, I live happily in Thousand Oaks with no return to drugs or alcohol.

I am so grateful I ended up at oak forest, they have an amazing program and the staff is absolutely incredible. I spent four months in the treatment house (which was a dream after for months in Tijuana haha) and then about four months at their sober living and it really helped me get on the right track and turn my life around. Much love to Spencer, Colleen, Kurtis, and RJ. Easily the best treatment/sober living in the area and a wonderful community to be a part of.

I am personally for ever greatful to Oak Forest Recovery. As a Mother of an addict I had exhausted all hope in rehabs for my son, he had been in several detox and facilities that failed him from lack of care, supervision, structure, education, encouragement,12 step study and mentoring. After his last near death of overdosing several times a Dear friend stepped up and recommended Oak Forest Recovery, within hours after being discharged from the hospital he was placed into the care of Oak Forest were he finally got the professional care he needed 🙌 For the first time in years I have Peace of mind, but most importantly my son has been transformed into an intirerly different person ❤ He is healthier then he has ever been, mentally as well as physically. I highly recommend Oak Forest Recovery. I'm Greatful and Thankful to all the staff . Thank you Oak Forest Recovery for your support . Sincerely Sandy Kelley
