Part of the experience of moving home relies on good communication from the team who pack up your precious belongings, and load them onto a truck. It also requires an enthusiastic, smiling and confident 'can-do' attitude to reassure the person moving that everything is under control and in good hands. The three men from Leopard Removals who arrived to pack up a few large items of furniture (and a good amount of small breakables) from my house in Cape Town had none of these attributes -- if anything they seemed tired and reluctant to be doing the job at all. Communication was difficult, I suspect because of a language barrier. However, they worked hard at packaging breakables, loading up everything quickly, and driving for two hours to outside of Cape Town, and unloading all the items -- putting them where I wanted. Staff need training in communicating a positive approach and customer-friendly attitude. Yes, there was a language barrier, but a friendly smile and a less reluctant attitude would have gone a long way towards instilling greater confidence in me. I got from A to B without mishap or breakages - that's the most important thing.

The Leopard team arrived on time, packed our move with care and at speed, travelled 450 km to our destination and had unloaded the furniture and boxes, again with care; and were done by 5.30 pm. This was the sixth Leopard move for us and we would arrange a seventh without any hesitation. This team and all the others before them were trained, proud professionals. Thanks Leopards, you were great - as usual.

DO NOT USE LEOPARD MOVERS!! Firstly, Charles quoted me on a job to move up the coast, I added some extra items, a few things and he upped the price; which I paid. They arrived very late, at 6PM, after saying they would be at mine at around 2pm, with an almost full truck, so when I questioned them about the space and called Charles, he said they had to go offload in Epping and return, which they did at around 8pm! Some of our furniture was dropped, the mattress not wrapped, and they didn't even take my motorbike, which was on the list; it was terrible!! Then, I receive a message the following day, merely saying "some" of our items were left behind in Cape Town due to not enough space in the truck, which Charles assured me there was, because they were using a larger truck; and they cannot commit to a date they can bring it all up, so will return what was left to the Cape Town house, where we had already moved out of! We were nearly at our destination so could also not make another plan. I asked for a more committed effort to deliver the important, larger items to us, but they just would not! I eventually had no choice but to tell them to return the goods and give us a refund, which they also eventually did, just today, which won't even cover the hire of a trailer for ME to now load, tow & offload myself!! Again, DO NOT USE THESE GUYS!!
