I was with a group of 9 friends having lunch. When I ordered my lunch which was steak and ale pie I asked the waitress if it came with vegetables, she said yes. Then the meal turned up minus the vegetables. When I queried this she said "I have more than one person to serve and I don't read the menu". As a member of staff shouldn't you know what is on your menu? As a customer if she said vegetables are extra I would of paid for them. Then on my table when I went to use the pepper pot I found out it was empty. When I asked the waitress she brought another pepper pot but that one was also empty. I would have thought checking the condiments would be a daily task. We spent over £300 today and I would have expected a friendlier staff member. If you want us to come back a 20% discount off the bill next time would be appreciated.

We had a really lovely family Sunday lunch at The Leather Bottle this weekend. We were a large party of 11 and the staff were excellent. Very attentive and helpful. The food was delicious. It was a lovely atmosphere and we had a great time. Thank you to Nicky, Clare, Ava and Tom who looked after us so well. Xx

Christmas lunch for 13 adults , easy pre ordering system , excellent quality food, all hot and served all guests at the same time. Portion sizes are large and chef made any pre arranged adjustments without issue and everything was cooked to a high standard . Service was friendly , prompt and professionally executed. Nicky , front of house , has been a dream to deal with pre lunch requirements on the phone and web based , thank you for making it easy . A great venue with good food

We attended the Leather Bottle Pub for a funeral wake and would highly recommend this venue. The food was exceptional and the service excellent. There was a lovely warm atmosphere allowing our family to gather. We didn't feel rushed at all. We were served by Nicky, Claire and Ava. We would definitely recommend this venue. Thank you

We've been before and liked it. This time the food was underwhelming: the Sunday roast beef was thin, overdone and sinewy. Possibly the worst Sunday roast I've ever had for this price. The langoustine in the seabream and risotto dish was overcooked to the degree where the tail turned to mush. That said, skin-on fries were excellent and so were the cod goujons from the kids' menu. The only thing that semi-saved our lunch was the the lovely lady who served us.

Lovely food and good service. Loses one star for putting a wafer on my dessert after I informed them I am allergic to gluten due to coeliac disease. I had to check with them if it was gluten free and they told me it wasn't.

First time visiting the Leather Bottle tonight and I will definitely return. Clare our waitress was brilliant. She explained everything when we walked in and was super friendly. Made us feel very welcome. The food was amazing. So tasty and well presented. No room for desert but next time for sure.

Service was terrible. Only one lady is allowed to take orders from customers on a Sunday, when there is four other bar staff standing around with not much to do. We had to ask on four occasions to be served and by the time the lady had come over to take our order, her tone was so rude. Wouldn’t go back or recommend to others.

Hi Laura, firstly let me apologise that you had a bad experience at the Leather Bottle in Blackmore, I can find no mention of your booking on the system unless you were a 'walk in' - the way our booking system works is that tables are staggered by the computer when booked to ensure service times are met, walk ins are usually told there may delays taking food orders, as booked customers are given priority, and the kitchen isn't overwhelmed, this may explain the reason you experienced a delay. Further, that morning, a senior member of staff left the business without warning meaning the existing team were put under unexpected pressure, the four people who appeared to be standing around are waitresses who clear tables, take drinks orders and run food, it is a perception that they were just standing around, they have to stick to their duties and are not trained to take food orders, it's unusual that a member of staff leaves in this way but I can assure you that normal high levels of service are resumed this coming Sunday. One thing I would ask of you on your next visit, if you do experience anything you are unhappy with, please ask to speak to the manager at the time, so that we have an opportunity to rectify any issues - kind regards Angie x
