We used Kona to demo and old covered deck and replace with a larger, covered deck. This was one of the best experiences I have had with home construction/remodeling. The communication was great. We always knew where things stood, when certain parts were expected to be completed. The workers were here on time and didn't leave our site to go to another site halfway through the day as many do. They put in a good 8 hours daily on our project. The quality is good and they helped us through the design process. I would recommend Kona.

I have some defective Fiberon boards. Fiberon offered a cash payment to replace the boards but said I had to find someone to replace the boards. Kona built the deck but has not committed to replacing the defective boards.

The team at Kona recently completed the construction of a new raised paver patio, pergola, privacy screen and fire pit at our home. We were impressed with their responsiveness, agility and the quality of the work. Billing was clear and project timelines were generally met despite a difficult winter and one supply chain issue. Without question we would contract with them again…if only they built garage additions we already would have.

We had a fantastic experience with Kona. We hired them to demo our existing deck and retaining wall and replace it with a stamped concrete patio, new stone retaining wall, and grill island. This dose seem like a great company to have your outside patio built! But that lack of communication between management, staff and fellow employees is poor beyond words. There are always issues with materials, or the wrong materials being sent to different job sights! With the lack of staffing that this company has proven to show the deck builders are being rushed to perform a strenuous task, also being rushed and told to work faster leads to poor quality of work, and corners are being cut! This company appears to be about quantity not quality!! Supervisors rarely over see the projects being done or over see the progress in which most employees strive for the best- they are only to be present at the time of and error or injury!

Kona removed an old, rotten wood deck and installed a new stamped concrete patio. The work was performed very well and on schedule. They also replaced damaged siding from the old deck. Work was performed professionally with daily cleanup. We are very satisfied.

Our deck is about 600 square feet. We have a roof over half of it that we wanted to keep. Half of our deck was an add on, built by the prior owner without a permit. It encroached on a setback. We had no documentation regarding the depth of our caissons. You get the picture!
Kona Contractors worked with the City of Littleton to get approval for rebuilding our entire deck. They carefully built temporary support for our existing roof, poured new caissons, built a steel frame, replaced the support beam for our roof, and finished the entire deck in just over two weeks. The final deck looks great, and we know it is built to last because we watched every step of the build.
There is no such thing as a perfect job, but Kona worked hard to address every concern we had. We would hire them again.

Don’t bother trying to get a quote for a townhouse. We made very clear when scheduling the appointment we had two rooftop decks we needed shade solutions for, and they scheduled to come out to give us a quote. Even in the meeting invitation they sent, it mentions rooftop. They then show up 30 minutes late and refuse to even come in, and informs us at that time they don’t do any kind if shade solutions for rooftops.
Total waste of time and really unprofessional. Disappointed.

We found Kona Contractors online and were really impressed with their portfolio. We had them come out and bid for our backyard patio cover project. It was an easy choice for us. Everyone was very professional and easy to work with. They use Basecamp to communicate updates and status reports on the project, and post daily photos. We were very impressed! I highly recommend Kona for your next project!
