My son is in Primary 6 this year and attended Math, English, English composition and Science lessons at Joyous since the Jun holidays. He says that the teachers were very kind and understanding; they taught at an appropriate pace and in a way that everyone understood. The teachers were patient and very encouraging too. Through his lessons, he has built on concepts and understanding. And I could see that the teachers engaged him and motivated him to keep improving - thank you, Joyous!

I have two children attending classes here and both have benefited from this boutique tuition center. Teacher Stella has been wonderful with my P4 daughter for Math. She is incredibly patient and has a gift for keeping my daughter engaged and interested in the subject. Mrs Ang taught my P6 son writing for the year and made an impact on his composition skills. She provided constructive feedback that helped him understand where to improve, and taught him useful planning and execution techniques that have really strengthened his writing for PSLE.

I don’t think it is useful video GEP Prep. Just puts kids in this additional peer pressure. Whole concept of GEP only benefits these coaching centers and nothing gain for kids. Before the day of exam my son has learnt effectively nothing from this course.

Hi Deva, the package you purchased is the Questions and Answers pack, which provides exposure to the types of questions that might appear in the selection tests. This pack is not a full preparatory course; rather, it’s designed as a supplementary resource to be used over time to help familiarise students with different question types.

While we understand the desire to see quick results, significant progress often requires consistent, spaced-out review rather than last-minute preparation. This resource is similar to PSLE past-year papers—valuable for practice but not a guarantee of identical results on test day, especially if reviewed only shortly before the exam.

We understand that some parents and students can feel pressured by the GEP selection process, especially when other children may already be preparing. However, we encourage a balanced approach that allows children to engage with these materials at a comfortable pace, minimising any added stress.

My son has been with Joyous Learning for GEP P3 English and GEP P3 Maths since January 2024, under Mr Sim. He enjoys the challenging Cloze passages and Comprehension for English and also like how the Maths worksheets were divided into parts such as Worksheet A, B, C, etc. where Worksheet A is always the introduction to the topic or the easiest worksheet to do. Overall, some of the questions were similar to the SASMO papers, which also helps my son in the Math competitions.

My girl has been attending Mr Sim’s English class for more than a year. She finds Mr Sim caring, understanding and humorous. She is motivated to do her homework on her own and looks forward to her weekly lessons. Thanks to the dedicated teacher, she has shown improvements in her English writing and oral. I chose Joyous because sufficient attention is given to every student due to the small class size. I also like it that Joyous allows a student to join another class or record the lesson if you are unable to attend.
