Receiving mailing at least weekly so I decided to call. I am in the financial world so I know about mortgages. Representative wasn’t really happy when I was asking questions that was off his obvious script. Then gave him permission to pull my credit. BIG mistake. They did TWO hard pulls on my credit. It took 30 minutes to get to the point where he comes back after that. Then he brings on the “Vice President” who proceeds to ask me questions that were obviously for someone else. Ridiculous. Waste of time. Then started calling me daily. Thankfully I can block calls. I get two more mailings. Called to get removed. Representative didn’t know how to get me off the list. Then hangs up in me.
4/13 update: sorry. I get instant notices when someone pulls my credit. You guys did it twice each one under a different company name. And no, the first impressions sets it for a prospective customer. Yours was horrible. I don’t plan on calling (because nothing will be done anyway.)
I had my mortgage refinanced with JFQ Lending, and was a good deal. The only thing I have been calling them for the last 3 days, but no one to find.

I guess they're lucky the minimum is one star. I bought 3 properties, refinance 3 times all with different companies. This is the first time I'm spending time leaving a review.
The lack of communication from their representatives is unfathomable. Moreover, when they do answer you only get generic responses and the usual, I'll research that and get back to you.
No one should do business with them unless you want extremely poor customer service.
In the end, after about a month of back and forth with them, giving them every single paperwork they asked for,I was told by email that my loan won't be approved, that's it.
This company has no integrity and they will waste your time. They should not be allow to do business.
This company is a scam, my fiancé almost processed a loan with them (thankfully we backed out)...this company took our appraisal money and then completely ghosted us. They did not return any of our calls and also switched us to like 3 different loan officers during our process. We ended up going through our bank to get our money back and quickly found another lender. Stay far away from this company as they are not legit.
Very disappointed with JFQ! They are dishonest and unprofessional!!!! I have 3 main reasons (briefly explained) that they do not deserve anything above 1 star:
1- Multiple lies to grab your attention and then one by one they force you to accept their terms! For example first they said 3k fee for the loan and then they asked for over 6k. They first told me the home inspection is free and later they asked me to sign a document that I agree to pay whatever appraisal fee they tell me later! Also after I asked them to adjust the amount of loan based on the appraised value they said that the loan is based on the estimate that was originated and it was way below my real home value!
2- They requested for many documents that were not necessary! I have gotten 3 mortgages and 2 personal loans in the past couple of years and none of them asked for the documents like them! For example, Even after I provided the IRS report that I don't owe any balance they asked for my personal bank statement showing that I paid the IRS!!!!
3- Very unprofessional and dishonest manner! They treat me like I am a liar and clearly told me they don't believe me and I should provide ducuments for everything! I told them my work is 1 hr drive to the hospital I am working and they asked me to provide screenshot of a Google map showing that it's really 1 hr from my work!!!!
After 3-4 weeks of providing whatever they requested I canceled my application with them solely because they lied to me and asked me to pay for the appraisal and also didn't accept to adjust the amount of loan based on the appraisal value!!!!
I am a physician at UCSF wiith credit score above 750 and just wanted 116k loam backed my equity which was estimated way below the actual value of the house since I recently spend 120k on the house and they used zillow for the estimated value which didn't calculated the recent renovations! I DO NOT recommend them to anyone! Very disappointed!!!!
Horrible lender. Finished my loan but continued to solicit me for five years after I repeatedly told them I didn't want to be called for new programs. At times I received more than 8 calls a day! I feel like they'll never leave me alone. I am a realtor and I have extensive knowledge of many lenders. They all have access to the same or similar programs. Do yourself a favor and avoid JFQ like the plague. They will stalk you incessantly.
I had a choice to work with Rocket Mortgage or JFQ on a HEL. I went with JFQ because they had a loan product that was more aligned with my long term objectives and had a better interest rate. I was admittedly hesitant because i had read some of the reviews discussing how JFQ strung along customers and then stopped responding. Because of this, I checked in periodically with my loan officer, Hunter, who assured me at every step that all was fine. Even when we
missed the first closing date, he assured me that there were no issues and the only reason for the delay was due to end of month volume. Finally, I was told that there was a snag due to my HOA not being turned over to the residents but that JFQ may be able to get an exception. I have followed up via text and phone calls for three days with radio silence from JFQ. I have gotten NO response, no status, no update. Save yourself the headache and go with Rocket. They may charge a little more interest but you will have peace of mind. Even when Rocket found out I was going with JFQ, they responded to all my calls and texts, complied with my requests to transfer my appraisal, and acted in the most professional manner. I understand that things may not always work in your favor but I find it unacceptable to be in the process of a major transaction which has met a snag and not get a response, status or any feedback. That demonstrates a lack of regard for your customer.
My payment was due two days ago for a 100k loan JFQ secured for me. I still don't have a way to make a payment. They sold my loan and couldn't process it in a timely manner.
Update: Specialized Loan Services purchased my loan and uses University Credit Union. Although UCU technically owns my loan, SLS is who takes my payments. SLS finally got me the information I needed, and there was a 15 day grace period. So in the end, JFQ got me the best rate on the market, their EAGLE program blew other major banks out of the water, Hunter Claussen made the process with JFQ an absolute delight. It was unfortunate that it took over a month after I received my funds for SLS get me a new loan number and never called me or emailed me to let me know it was ready, but I got the best loan possible due to JFQ and that's all that really matters in the end.
I had a called from a gentleman named Shaun, who gave me the following phone number , 480-863-580X. This starst as any normal rending inquires, then he started telling me about their new product called EAGL. I told him I have heard about this. I do not remember exactly what it was. I did not think it is beneficial to me. Well he insisted that it is different from traditional second mortgage, but he could not tell me the different is. So I asked him what is the interest rate. He told me it is all depend. I told him, if your best if 10% for anyone for example, I will not gonna get 9%. He still do not tell me. then I asked what is the best rate you gave to the client today, he told me 2%. it is a lie. Why he did not that? I do not know. but I never never complained about any mortgage broker in the past even though I got tons of calls. but this lying must stop.
I had a great experience applying for a home equity loan with JFQ through their agent Trevor Melucci. Trevor was extremely knowledgeable and informative about the various available loan products. The application process was very efficient and professionally handled. Highly recommended!
Rachael Roben helped us with a equity loan. She was amazing and made this process so much easier, and was a pleasure to talk to. I will refer everyone I know to Rachael. I was contacted by at least 20 other companies and none were as helpful as JFQ Lending and Rachel. They are lucky to have her.
I keep getting spam texts from these guys. I dont know why they keep contacting me since I already have a mortgage from when rates were low. Why would I refinance when rates are way up? It doesnt make any sense.
