Do not appoint this company to manage your block. Do not buy or rent a flat in a block managed by them.
My tenant reported a leak in January 2025. The leak is in her bedroom, coming from the ceiling and into her bed. It is now November 2025 and the leak is still not fixed. The flat is becoming damp and she cant sleep in her bedroom. If this goes on any longer I will have to put her in a Hotel.
As the appointed block management company, Jennings and Barret are responsible for block mainteance. They claim to be working on it, but the leak continues. They rarely reply to emails, and never return phone calls.
I suspect they are very poorly staffed, with too few and underqualified staff. My block has had several "Senior Managers" and "Assistant Managers" in a short space of time.
Directors beware: J&B might be the cheapest management company, but they are expensive in the long run. It looks like I am having to go to legal expense just to get them to repair a leak.
Landlords beware: you will have greater maintenance costs because of all the redecorating you will be doing, and perhaps temporary rehousing costs as your flats become uninhabitable.
Buyers beware: your flats will lose value if they are in a block managed by Jennings and Barret.
I own several flats across south London, all managed by different agents. Jennings and Barret are far and away the worst. I am leaving this review because I hope they turn this around before I have to pay a fortune to solicitors to force them.
