I wanted to like them but few issues 1. smooth MJF prints came with a ton of plastic powder still on them. not a fan of that at all. see pictures. 2. similar (but different!) parts came in the wrong bags. at the bare minimum, you must get this correct in this line of work. 3. raw MJF parts vary greatly in quality. I emailed them about this, asking for a refund because the parts vary so badly that they are out of tolerance. was told no and this is to be expected. for me this means they can't hold a high bar for quality and worse don't stand by their work. this, by the way, is after they emailed me and told me this order would be late because they were having quality issues. i've probably spent $500 here with plans to productionize a part and spend even more. overall signs of an operation that isn't organized or running very well. unfortunately will have to look for another partner. owners: please don't comment on this or contact me. you've lost me as a customer.

Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear that the surface finish of your parts did not meet your expectations.

The material selected for this order was MJF PA12 (Raw), which is manufactured using a powder-bed fusion process. During printing, fine nylon powder is fused layer by layer to create the part. As a result, raw MJF PA12 parts naturally have a matte appearance and a slightly textured or powder-like surface. This is an inherent characteristic of the manufacturing process rather than a defect.

Customers who require a smoother cosmetic finish may benefit from one of our post-processing options, such as vapor smoothing, media tumbling, or dyeing, depending on the application and desired appearance.

We appreciate your feedback, as it helps us improve how we communicate material characteristics and finish expectations before production.

TLDR: Fine for low volume, low priority prototyping. Awful for production with any real volume or when you need them to follow their own tolerances and be consistent. I've used Jawstec on and off for the last few years, sometimes prototyping for my company, sometimes for small items for my personal use, and they have never been an issue. Recently, I've started having some issues with my prior supplier and decided, "hey, Jawstec has never done me wrong, let's give them a try". Boy was that the wrong decision. So I sent a few files over and have some prototypes made and they all came out great. Since the proof of concept came out great, I went all out and order 1400 pieces over 3 parts, for all in an order just over $5300. Time goes by and the parts are shipped to me. Open them, and to my shock, there was a variety of issues. Finishes varied wildly from different shades of dye to incredibly rough surfaces and lost details from swelling. Rough count showed that 10% of my order had this problem. Beyond that, HUNDREDS of parts were horribly out of spec. Jawstec own published tolerances. I am intimately familiar with MJF, having tens of thousands of parts made and sold, I understand the limitations and my designs factor those in. Even with the design that compensates for this, these Jawstec parts were still wildly out of spec. Jawstec advertises a Z tolerance of +/- 0.4% on any part over 100mm. On my part that was 118mm that is +/- 0.472mm. Some of the parts measure as high as 2mm. That is unbelievably bad. It also goes to show how poor their QC is when 334 parts had to be sent back because they were so outside of spec that I couldn't use them. It should be noted that 334 parts isn't all of the parts that were out of spec, that count is only the parts that are so bad my design no longer worked. I suspect there was another hundred or two or parts that exceeded that 0.4% number. Somehow, that wasn't even the worse part. I ordered three parts, with the first part I ordered having 300 pieces, the second 400, and the third 700. What I received was 32 instead of 300, 485 instead of 400, and 872 instead of 700. Those keen eyed of you will have noticed how those numbers are not the same. THEY CAN'T COUNT! It's not even close! I genuinely don't understand how this could possibly happen. And finally, the CS once something has gone wrong is absolutely horrible. Messing up this bad, you would think they would go out of their way to get this taken care of and to keep me updated every step of the way. Nope. I had to call several times just to get the process started. They forget timelines they set for themselves and they forget conversations that already happened and important details in those conversations. I had to email them constantly just to get updates. I had to email them to know when they received and started inspecting the parts, when they started reprints, when they were done, and tracking when they finally shipped. They never initiated any update by themselves. Best part is? The pieces I received back, a lot of them are still out of spec. Frankly, I'm tired of having to deal with Jawstec and I will never work with them ever again. So why two stars? Well, as awful as this experience was, for prototypes and individual items, Jawstec is still very good. The quality is ok, they are almost always on time, and the pricing is reasonable. I will never use them again, but for this purpose I think they do an ok job and encourage others to as well. But I would not touch them with a 12 foot pole when any real money is on the line. Jawstec can not be trusted to produce consistent parts for sale as products.

This is going to be a long one, the summary is only buy MJF/printed parts from them and avoid ordering machined parts. I've used them for a couple years for MJF parts and they were all great, but after my experience ordering a large batch of machined parts that cost five figures I don't think they'll ever get my business ever again. This started in November 2025 when I sent in an RFQ for 500pcs, they notified me that they can only quote 1000pcs as a minimum quantity. I decided in the first week of December to bite the bullet and raise my quantity to receive a quote. Price seemed good but double the amount of parts I actually wanted, no big deal I guess. I then added on a couple extra requests for tighter tolerances and 64Ra surface finish on the O.D. and I.D. of the parts, this cost thousands extra, that's fine. This whole process of waiting for them to requote, "talk to engineers" etc. took until JANUARY 27TH before I could pay them and order the parts. I should have known right away this was a sign of what was coming next. Parts were quoted at 32-40 business days, of course they missed that and parts were late by over a month, but finally I would be getting my parts so I was happy. Well once I got my parts that changed, 100% of parts had huge burrs, and not only that, they were on the O.D. and I.D. of the parts, the two features I paid extra for tighter tolerances and finer surface finish. Awesome. I sent them to a local business that tumble deburrs, waited 5 days, paid for them to be deburred and it barely did anything due to the severity of the burrs. I then tried to ball hone the ID and that didn't work either, so then I had to hand ream a thousand parts to remove the burrs. I also had to hand stamp all the parts with a punch and hammer for clarification because the dimple markings on the parts were incorrect. There were several parts that had incorrect size holes drilled, random drill points on the parts, parts with O.D. and I.D. completely out of spec, so approximately 50 parts or 5% of the order were complete rejects and 100% of the parts needed significant rework that took me about a week straight using all my time once I got home from the office and over the weekend. JawsTec has still not reached out to me after a week from sending in all this info except that the concern was forwarded to management. At this point I really don't even know what options I have other than to try to file a charge back claim because it doesn't seem like the company will do anything to make it right otherwise.

Overall happy with the parts I receive. Every so often printed parts have small defects in in them. Quality control should check parts more thoroughly

Jawstec is terrific. Prints are always top notch and on time and super affordable, even in small quantities. I can’t recommend them enough. --- April '26 Update --- Downgrading to 1 star. They used to be great but seem to have forgotten how to do customer service. I had 3 orders show up that were flawed and unacceptable for various reasons, but I just accepted that is part of 3D printing variables. But this last time they sent me RED parts instead of ORANGE parts. This was clearly a mistake on their end, but because I did not report it within 10 days, per their "terms and conditions" they would not replace the parts for refund my money, for a mistake they made. As a customer, I also have terms and conditions. One of those terms is that I don't pay for parts that are incorrect. After a dozen e-mails I gave up, disputed the charge with my credit card and was refunded the money. I won't do business with them again. There are many alternatives that offer the same services. See photo - does that look orange to anyone?

Great option for MJF 3D printed parts stateside. Website is very user friendly. I've used them once for an expedited job and once for a normal job. Both arrived on time and with good quality. Will continue to use them for my prototype MJF parts and based on my experience will consider branching out to their other offerings.
