Terrible experience. Less than a week before the charter they've cancelled. In earlier communication they agreed to offer a deposit protection. They later refused this option trying to claim they never offered it. After I sent them the original email they got upset and cancelled the charter.
Would highly recommend chartering from Ionian Catamarans and specifically Captain Andreas and Nico. My experience was a little unique. My friends and I were in a dangerous situation off the coast of Paxos in our sailboat that required rescuing due to the loss of our rudder.
In contrast to the difficult experience trying to get in contact with the Greek Coast Guard, Captain Andreas of the Blue Velvet was experienced, calmed us down immensely and rescued us as soon as possible. We’re grateful to the Blue Velvet for such a stellar experience.
From my experience on the boat, it was clean, well maintained and the guests on board were incredibly happy with the service. There were 6+2 cabins, seemingly all with a sky light, and so many different public spaces to relax and absorb the beautiful Ionian Coast. The bridge was very open, and it was cool to see behind the scenes on how sailing worked with a larger boat.
Thank you again, Captain Andreas! I will absolutely charter from Ionian Catamarans the next time I am in Corfu.
Chartered a Monohull out of Lefkas for one week early July 25. Office staff were not particularly friendly or helpful. Check in day quite chaotic and rushed. Little time to seek information around itineraries, marinas etc. Boat technical handover was quite quick. Small maintenance issues with the boat that were frustrating - eg no working fuel gauge, outboard motor broke down, faulty blackwater high level light, house batteries not holding charge in the last 36 hours requiring the engine to be run every 5 hours. Boat well fitted out but no small spares such as shackles, light rope for lashings etc. No "snubber" for the anchor chain to take weight off the anchor windlass in high winds (gusts of up to 44 knots one night). Although required in port on the last night of the charter (meaning its only 6 days of sailing) nearest heads/showers are a 10-12 minute walk away and you have to pay for them. We paid Euro 250 for the charter pack for which we got a bottle of wine, some nuts/nibbles, a sweet treat and post charter cleaning - not good value. Overall an average experience.

Dear Darby,
Thank you very much for your review. We would however want to grab the chance and clarify few things. Our local base staff is at all clients' disposal 24/7 to assist with any enquiries, upon check i or during the charter, hence in case you had any additional enquiries upon check in we would have very gladly assisted. You chartered our 2022 built Bavaria C42. We had absolutely no previous feedback or complaint about the boat batteries on this 3 years old boat. However, as soon as you brought this matter to our attention, we immediately replaced them with new ones. Thank you for your input. Of course, as we would both agree, Ionian Catamarans cannot be held responsible for the yachting infrastructure in Lefkas, however based on our company's goal to offer high quality charters to our clients, we decided years ago to offer our fleet from our private pontoons ( which are conveniently located opposite our offices), while we maintain our own technical staff, in order to offer to our boats the best service conditions during the season but also during the winterisation , but also to our valuable clients who do not have to walk big distances which might sometimes be the case in the marina. Our fleet is located in the Lefkas Port.
Going through your review, someone would feel that your main issue of not giving us a 5/5-star review, was the cost of the Charter Pack.
Kindly note that we offer the best value for money charter pack within the yachting industry, as apart from the bottle of wine, some nuts/nibbles, a sweet treat and post charter cleaning you mentioned above, it also includes the below:
- End Cleaning of the boat (would only be 250 EUR for this size of boat)
-Outboard Engine for your charter (normally costs around 100 EUR/week)
-2 full gas bottles (which cost around 20 EUR)
-Bed linen and towels (which cost us around 10 EUR/person at the laundry)
-Welcome pack (which includes the bottle of wine, some nuts/nibbles, a sweet treat and post charter cleaning you mentioned above).
-Fuel for the Outboard engine (which we do not charge unlike most of our competitors).
Hence, we would like to believe that reading the aforementioned you might want to re-evaluate your position and maybe be a bit more generous upon reviewing your future potential yacht charter with us :)
In any case we would like to than you once again for your review and we look forward to welcoming you onboard another Ionian Catamarans boat in the not too distant future.
Kind Regards,
The Ionian Catamarans Team

5/5 service except one observation, the towel service. They provide 2 sets of towels per cabin. 2 hand towels and 2 shower towels. We requested an extra set of towels per cabin for use as a beach towels. They happily provided them however surprisingly charged us €60 for this. Upon our return this was highlighted to the manager and subsequently refunded so thanks for that also.
