On our recent visit to the island we went on two guided levada walks with this company. They were beautiful walks and well organised, but our enjoyment was spoiled by the same irascible guide on both occasions. Unlike the many happy and friendly Madeira walking guides we have had in the past, he seemed to come from Planet Angry and within minutes of getting in the minibus he was arguing with clients (not me) about whether he should turn on the air conditioning. On the trail, he led the walks at the pace he wanted to go at (fast) rather than at a pace that suited the ability of the group, some of whom were in their seventies, shouting back at group members to keep up. He teased and mocked older or less able members of the group, one for using a stick, another for saying they were tired, and another, an older gentleman, for having vertigo. He left behind older and slower members of the group, one of whom subsequently had an accident, cutting her knee and leaving her shaken and unsteady on a very narrow path above big drops. When asked to slow down, he refused, instead mocking the request. Rather than imparting knowledge about the history and flora of the amazing countryside, on both occasions he seemed to want to get the walk over as soon as possible. I know these views were widely shared by other members of the group, none of whom seemed to have enjoyed the walk. Over many years of guided walks on the island, I have never had an experience like this and this individual should not be guiding walks.

Em nossa recente visita à ilha, fomos a dois passeios guiados de levada, um listado e o outro o Caldeiro Verde, com esta empresa. Eram passeios lindos e bem organizados, mas o nosso prazer foi estragado pelo mesmo guia irascible em ambas as ocasiões. Ao contrário dos muitos guias de caminhada felizes e amigáveis da Madeira que tivemos no passado, ele parecia vir do Planet Angry e dentro de minutos de entrar no minibus ele estava discutindo com clientes (não comigo) sobre se ele deveria ligar o ar condicionado. No caminho, ele liderou as caminhadas no ritmo que ele queria ir (rápido) em vez de um ritmo que se ajustava à capacidade do grupo, alguns dos quais estavam nos anos setenta, gritando aos membros do grupo para acompanhar. Ele ridicularizou e ridicularizou membros mais velhos ou menos capazes do grupo, um por usar um bastão, outro por dizer que estavam cansados, e outro, um senhor mais velho, por ter vertigem. J’ai eu le plaisir de participer, avec mes amies, à une excursion à Madère organisée par cette agence, et je dois dire que ce fut un voyage inoubliable ! Un grand merci tout particulier à notre guide Antonio, qui a pris grand soin de nous tout au long du séjour, tout en partageant avec passion ses vastes connaissances sur Madère – son histoire, sa culture, et la vie quotidienne de ses habitants.
L’itinéraire était parfaitement planifié – nous avons découvert les plus beaux coins de l’île, avec des paysages à couper le souffle. Tout s’est déroulé dans une ambiance agréable et détendue.
Je recommande vivement cette agence à toute personne souhaitant découvrir Madère de manière unique – avec passion, professionnalisme et une excellente organisation !🇵🇱🇧🇪

O motorista nunca apareceu tão pouco para escrever sobre isso. Recebeu um reembolso imediato, então não grumbles lá. Tivemos a turnê no dia seguinte com outra empresa e aproveitamos a oferta de 15 euros por 2 que nos obrigou a participar de um show de vendas para o esquema de time-share da Savoy. Não percebi que era um time-share até o fim. Aproveitei um bom passeio pelos hotéis de Savoy. Não assinou.

O motorista nunca apareceu tão pouco para escrever sobre isso. Recebeu um reembolso imediato, então não grumbles lá. Tivemos a turnê no dia seguinte com outra empresa e aproveitamos a oferta de 15 euros por 2 que nos obrigou a participar de um show de vendas para o esquema de time-share da Savoy. Grande dia explorando Madeira Oriental
Tivemos um grande dia explorando o leste da Madeira. Nosso motorista / guia foi Silvio, ele é um grande motorista, também muito amigável, informativo e sempre feliz em responder a todas as perguntas. Ele nos mostrou muitos lugares bonitos e nos levou por algumas estradas de campo para lugares que nunca poderíamos ver sozinhos. Muito obrigado Silvio por cuidar de nós.

Great day exploring east Madeira
We had a great day exploring east of Madeira. Our driver/guide was Silvio, he is a great driver, also very friendly, informative and always happy to answer all questions. He showed us many beautiful spots and took us through some country roads to places we would never be able to see on our own. Thank you Silvio so much for looking after us.

Great experience and well worth the money
A fantastic experience.The bus picked us up on timw and we were welcomed by our driver/guide for the day. The bus was comfortable and had air con. We felt incredibly safe even on the roads which were more difficult to navigate.We were given great detail about the history, nature and socio-economic developmenta of the island- all very interesting.Our guide had a great sense of humour and gave us excellent insight into life of the Madeiran people in different parts of the island.We saw some stunningly beautiful places which we hope we have time to revisit, especially Porto Moniz. This was a fantastic experience and we thoroughly recommend this tour.

Uma experiência fantástica. O ônibus nos pegou no timw e fomos recebidos pelo nosso motorista / guia para o dia. O ônibus era confortável e tinha ar condicionado. Sentimo-nos incrivelmente seguros mesmo nas estradas que eram mais difíceis de navegar. Foram-nos dados grandes detalhes sobre a história, natureza e desenvolvimento socioeconômico da ilha - tudo muito interessante. Nosso guia tinha um grande senso de humor e nos deu uma excelente visão sobre a vida do povo da Madeira em diferentes partes da ilha. Vimos alguns lugares incrivelmente belos que esperamos ter tempo para voltar a visitar, especialmente Porto Moniz. Foi uma experiência fantástica e recomendamos vivamente este passeio.

Not reliable, no airconditioning
We booked half day trip from another booking agency which uses Ilha Tours for nun's valley trip. Our trip was supposed to begin at the morning. We received every necessery documents from the booking agency.After waiting for 30 minutes we were informed by the booking agency that they have been told by Ilha Tours that driver is coming to pick us up in few minutes. After waiting for another 30 minutes we received another information that driver is not going to pick us up since Ilha tours has not updated us to the pick up list.We agreed with our booking agency to do the next tour later on the evening. This time driver showed up a bit late with a van without Air conditioning. During the trip we were shown couple sightseeing points were we visited these places by ourselves. Driver did tell us about the history of Madeira and showed us the Madeiran culture during the trip.Trip was ok, but tour agency not reliable

Nós reservamos meio dia de viagem de outra agência de reservas que usa Ilha Tours para o passeio do vale da freira. A nossa viagem deveria começar pela manhã. Recebemos todos os documentos necessários da agência de reservas. Depois de esperar 30 minutos fomos informados pela agência de reservas que eles foram informados por Ilha Tours que o motorista vem nos pegar em alguns minutos. Depois de esperar mais 30 minutos recebemos outra informação que o motorista não vai nos pegar, uma vez que Ilha tours não nos atualizou para a lista de pegar. Concordamos com nossa agência de reservas para fazer o próximo passeio mais tarde na noite. Desta vez, o motorista apareceu um pouco tarde com uma van sem ar condicionado. Durante a viagem fomos mostrados alguns pontos turísticos onde visitamos esses lugares por nós mesmos. O motorista contou-nos sobre a história da Madeira e nos mostrou a cultura da Madeira durante a viagem. Trip foi ok, mas a agência de viagens não confiável
Just finished the West tour with our fabulous guide Andre. He kept us safe - best driver ever - entertained us with his fun and upbeat personality and great knowledge of everything Madeiran. Me and my daughter, Leena, really had an amazing day. Definitely recommend the tour and if you're lucky enough to get Andre as your tour guide, you're in for a real treat.
