I use my vacuum maybe once or twice a week to pick up spills or pet hair or whatever. The battery is already dead and has to be replaced. Go with a better-quality battery

At the outset, this battery seemed promising, and was far superior to my 1-year-old original Dyson. But six months in, the capacity of the Powerextra to hold a charge has dropped precipitously, and now I cannot vacuum a small room. Look elsewhere for a better battery.

**Update:I was able to contact the manufacturer. I reported my poor battery life and they are replacing it for free. They were very friendly and professional. Fingers crossed the replacement lasts!**Prior review:This battery worked great for about 4 months, then the charge began to shorten. Within 6 months of purchasing it the battery is completely dead and will not hold a charge. I have contacted the company and they have not responded. Don't waste your money.

Hello, I purchased this battery after reading the reviews and my original battery on my Dyson went dead.This battery life was not good at all it doesn't keep a good charge its as if its always dead. I vacuum for less than 5 minutes and no longer working have to charge again. Do not waste your money.

I use my dyson vac about 30 minutes a week. With that use, after only 5 months, the battery life is less than 5 minutes on the normal setting on hardwood flooring. The original Dyson battery lasted about 3 years before it got to that point.

I purchased this battery to replace the original that came with my Dyson. At first it worked great. It seemed to have held the charge for longer than the original battery on both Max and regular suction settings, however, after about three months from the purchase date, it would stop working after less than a minute. When I placed it back on the charger, the blue light would appear and then go out almost immediately. It now stopped working completely.

The replacement battery worked perfectly for the first 8 months and stopped working with max suction first and then regular suction stopped as well. Now instead of keep buying replacement batteries, I think it's time to buy a new dyson

My original vacuum battery lasted almost four years. After it stopped reliably holding a charge, I ordered this new battery in April. Now, in October, it fails to hold a charge. And in fact it started to fail in August. IT HAS ONLY BEEN SIX MONTHS. I will not buy this battery again. Products like this do not help Amazon's reputation at all.
