Update: As always, I pay all my bills in full the moment I receive them. I performed another scan and again, hri sent no bill and never contacted me. I just received a notice from a creditor that after I paid $115 for the procedure, they didn't charge the remaining $50, and sent that to a creditor without ever contacting me. The creditor only tells me I owe, not what for, so I don't even know what this charge is.. only that I already paid most of it, at which time my full expectation and intent was that I was paying all of it. The creditor contacted me by text on my phone. Hri never emailed or called it texted or sent a letter. We really need to start A class action on them; I've never seen an operating business with so many 1 star reviews.
In September 7th, I had imaging as part of a surgical event. For the next few months, I received numerous bills from the various companies associated with the surgery, and I paid each immediately upon receipt of the bill. I paid the first bill from HRA, but did not receive the second (they would have received a return to sender as the new federal pmb regulations interrupted my mail service). They did not call, text, email, or use the MyChart interface, all of which were on file.
In January 27th, I received a notice from a collections agency for the second bill which was never received. These agencies were taking 3 months to deliver their bills, but it goes to collections when I'm 4 months late with no attempts to contact me?!! Now I get to pay the inflated fee to collections in the hope that they choose not to leave the ding on my credit.. why doesn't the medical industry just get it's act together and send bills, or at least notifications of bills, through the universally accessible MyChart interface which queens, and so all of them, uses anyway? I've been watching my po box like a hawk for medical bills for months, and the moment one slips through my fingers as it's everything I was worried about.. I never would have missed an email or text notification like the collection agency used.
The staff actually performing the scans were kind and helpful, however, the lady in reception was rude and demeaning.
As soon as I learn her name, which I will, I'll write a formal complaint letter to the management of Hawaii Radiologic.
I don't want anyone to lose their job, but this lady need training in customer service.
I had a wonderful experience with Hawai‘i Radiologic Associates. From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel comfortable, cared for, and truly welcomed.
They offer essential services like mammograms and ultrasound screenings, and the entire process felt smooth and efficient. The team is not only professional but also incredibly kind and attentive, something that makes a big difference, especially for procedures that can feel a bit nerve-wracking.
One thing I really appreciated is that if you check with the front desk, they sometimes have availability for same-day service, which is such a huge plus when you’re trying to stay on top of your health.
Overall, I highly recommend HRA for anyone looking for a caring, efficient, and supportive radiology experience here on the island.
I think you would have better luck going to the location in Hilo and waiting for a month there then going to this location in Kailua Kona even though that they can serve you fast enough is it really gonna be worth it if they’re gonna give you horrible service and make you feel like you’re just a patient? Come in and hurry up and get out like they never gave me any eye contact ..I had serious concerns and they just kind of shrugged it off like you know they weren’t really absolutely sure what to answer but you know they just said not to worry about it and everything should be fine.
Well, I was very worried about the procedure plus the MRI I have claustrophobia so I pretty much cried the whole time And they never asked me How are you feeling? Are you OK? Do you need to take a break or anything . I felt like they didn’t really care who I was. I am just a number.
The initial intake experience was good 1-29-24. However, they didn't take all the xrays I wanted them to take as the Dr. only specified certain locations. Not their fault I suppose, but I offered to pay for the additional photos personally. Well, the reason for the the 2 stars is I still have not been notified that the xrays ever came in. The xrays were a follow up to a accident that left me with 23 broken bones and I wanted an update after 1 year to see how they healed, I still don't know.......disappointed.
My husband’s doctor sent a referral for an MRI to this place and frankly I just have to LOL at the complete lack of responsiveness and professionalism. It is Hawai’i after all, and perhaps I need to lower my expectations even more than they already are. I have been calling to schedule an MRI appointment for a week, and they never answer their phone. It’s wild that this is one of the few places a patient can go to for an MRI. The only other option is Queen’s where they charge $7000 + for MRIs with contrast.
Horrible place, the never answer the phone or call back. Can only make appointments in person which is tough with a broken back. Still waiting on them to send X-rays to my doctor and it’s been over 2 weeks. Poorly managed facility and understaffed, no empathy at all. The owners should be ashamed. Highly suggest making an appointment with the hospital instead. If somone opened up a competing business and just answered the phone they would clean house I’m sure. Also got a notice that there systems were hacked and medical history along with personal info has been compromised. Whoever runs this place, this is a reflection of YOU.
Ask before you leave for them to check if you owe anything!! They never sent me a bill & turned me over to a collections agency & then never answered their phone or any of my messages. No callback! & Their billing service never did too!! I'm still trying after a week to straighten out! Go somewhere else if you don't have insurance that will pay 100% or get the bill before you leave!! They will screw up your credit!
