I would like to share my feedback regarding my recent experience. Unfortunately, the process has been quite challenging, even at the initial stage of reviewing requirements.
Communication and clarity have been areas of concern. There appears to be a lack of a clear roadmap outlining how and when the loan progresses to the next steps, which has made the process uncertain and difficult to navigate.
Additionally, my interactions with Erin Liggett were not as productive as I had hoped. There seemed to be ongoing concerns about workload and time constraints, which may have impacted responsiveness and overall effectiveness.
Given these challenges, I would prefer to work with more established and structured organizations, even if it involves a higher cost. A well-defined process, clear communication, and consistent support are critical factors in such engagements.
I hope this feedback is helpful in improving the overall experience for future clients.
Trish and Jason were excellent to work with. They provided great guidance and responded promptly to all my questions and updated me regularly. They both made my first HFS experience as simple as possible. We were able to secure our home improvement loan quickly and seamlessly. Thank you!
Edited review: They lie and tell you that your loan will be unsecured; but there is a UCC filing for it. Currently struggling with the company that manages my loan to get an interest statement.
Easiest Loan Process i've ever been through. The interest and fees are high, but i plan on refinancing when the. economy improves. Simple process, easy peazy!
We applied for a loan and uploaded all the necessary documents only to be ask to upload more documents. The guy Jason called us and said I see you make 88-100k with your business but you write everything off. So that tells me you don’t make enough and we are going to close your account. When in reality we supposed to pay our self and write things off. He was very nonchalant and seems racist. I think it’s a family business because we tried to apply again only to get a different person but with the same last name. He talked to us as if he didn’t give a care. They pick and choose who they wanna fund depending on the amount

All I can say is wow!! Super fast experience to make that dream come true! I have always aspired to finish the basement, which is pretty large, a gym, a lounge area, barn doors, bathroom, all of the above, and now that's finally happening. All within a 7-day period. Thanks Ladeana for being so efficient at your craft and Blake from day 1 calling me 2 minutes after I initially applied with a pre-approval. I just called my husband to share the joy!!! Thanks for what you all do....I don't think you understand the overall impact!
Fast and easy to use financing options for your home improvement project
I applied online and got a pre-approval.
Shortly after I got a phone from a gentleman that gave me the sales pitch on all the benefits and how quickly the loan would fund. After the call I received an email through the website asking to upload documents. I uploaded ALL .. the documents same day. After a few days I received a generic email asking to upload documents. I logged in and the site showed everything completed. I had to call in and ask what was needed because I had not received a reply from the loan processor for a couple days. After uploading more documents and moving in to underwriting phase I received another email from the loan processor asking for more.... Documents. Again... There was no where on the web portal to upload anything. I emailed the loan processor and the guy I first spoke with. Neither have returned my phone calls or emails or texts. This company has misrepresented themselves in how their loans are processed, communication, and customer service. What should have been done in a week or so has now been a month with no response from anyone. I have a good credit score and could have just just got a personal loan from my credit union and been done instead of dealing with this company
So, just wanted to take a moment to share my experience speaking with Tristin Spyrop. He’s easily one of the best sales professionals I’ve spoken with. He approached everything more as a consultant than a salesperson and showed genuine care about helping my new construction business succeed.
His focus wasn’t just on supporting my company, but also on making sure homeowners are taken care of throughout the financing process. He provided great marketing suggestions on how to roll out financing to my customers and even offered to meet with my team the next time he’s traveling to Austin from DFW... great customer service
I’m looking forward to working with you guys moving forward.
I worked with Dana and she is very professional and fast with giving a response to any questions I had about my loan. I would highly recommend!
This company uses your loan application as a way to force your contractors into their system. They require all your estimates for the work that you’re going to have done. They sent emails to my contractors telling them they HAD to sign up for HFS for me to get funded (basically this holds your loan hostage). On top of that, their 'low rates' are misleading - especially since they haven’t even sent it to a lender yet. Do your homework and find a direct lender instead.
I did more research went with a company that was a direct lender and had my funds in my bank in less than 72 hours start to finish. Without even having to submit contractor information. Why? Because direct unsecured loans are based on your credit, your debt income ratio, work history, etc. your whole portfolio - it has NOTHING to do with your contractors!

We are unable to identify this reviewer or any loan inquiry to HFS due to the nature of the name in google as "K L". If you are able to supply HFS with information to identify your loan inquiry, we would be able to better review your specific situation.
HFS does require some form of onboarding for home improvement contractors associated with the work to be done on homeowners subject properties.
We are a finance company that is in the business of helping consumers secure financing. That is how we operate and earn revenue. If we are not funding loans we are not creating revenue, even if we sign up a contractor.
While we respect everyone's right to open and transparent reviews, we do disagree with your assertion that we are using consumers or their loan inquiries to get contractors to register. The practice we note that we implement at HFS is a widely held practice in home improvement lending.
