Pure magic! I was lucky enough to be part of a yoga retreat and get to stay at the amazing Hermosa Treehouse! We were taken care of to the fullest by the host family, concierge, home chefs and other on-site staff. We enjoyed massages, beaches, surfing, food, drinks and of course yoga! All at our fingertips or close by! I personally awoke to monkeys every morning sleeping in the open air room, so cool!! This beautiful home would be great for yoga treats, girls trip and family or multi-family trip. On your next vacation to Costa Rica, specifically Santa Teresa, look no further! It will be difficult to put into words just how MAGICAL our stay was at the Treehouse. What an experience! The house itself is so cool! Stunning architecture, it's open and made completely from wood. It has sliding panels in the kitchen that open to the back deck and a salt water pool which is awesome. You have the option to sleep in open air and wake to monkeys and ocean views or in a private air conditioned suite. There is on site security and it's gated and they have a private yoga shala that is stunning and overlooks everything that you get to from a cute little bridge. Yoga anytime we want..? Yes please!
The staff there was incredible to say the least. Special shout out to Yoselin and Grettel. Yoselin, you and the owners took care of literally everything and made the experience a true stress free vacation. So fun and kind and attentive, knowledgeable.. just thank you. Grettel, that was the absolute BEST food I have ever put in my mouth! I'm very thankful you catered to my allergies and plant based diet, (and did so with a smile)... It was SO delicious! Thank you.
The house is a 1 min walk from beautiful warm beaches and has boogie boards to take out. Even local surf lessons just down the beach (Luis was awesome)! When the tide is low there are super cool tide pools to explore and snorkel, and this place has some of the best sunsets I have ever seen! Simply spectacular. I think the only thing I would change is making our stay longer. The absolute best vacation I have ever had. Thank you all! Until next time because I will definitely be back...Pura vida!
As good as you’re imagining the Hermosa Treehouse might be – it’s a thousand times better. Luxurious, without being pretentious. Private, yet close to the beach and town. It’s a unique treasure of Costa Rica. A few notes:
The architecture of the house: stunning. An absolute masterpiece, every detail (down to the hardware on the doors!) is perfect. I could stare at the teak tree pillars for a hundred years...
The views: Jaw-dropping beautiful. Better than any postcard. You will find yourself taking the same picture over and over because it doesn’t seem possible for something to be THAT beautiful.
The wildlife: the bellow of the howler monkeys…other worldly. Iguanas, capuchin monkeys, butterflies, and birds and on and on and on. It’s like stepping into National Geographic.
The beach: the softest sand, the warmest water with waves gentle enough to play in, yet strong enough to surf (book lessons with Luis if you’re a newbie).
The yoga shala: such a privilege to practice in this gorgeous space, nestled in the jungle, with birds flying by… standing in mountain pose is enough.
The staff: like family, without drama, ensuring every detail of our stay was anticipated and cared for. The kindest people. The chef, Grettel, spoiled us with every meal. The freshest ingredients- the ceviche, the coconut flan – all of it - inviting us to nourish our bodies with the local dishes.
And Yoselin, the house manager: there’s a reason she’s known as the GOAT. The most gracious concierge I’ve ever met and an absolute delight.
You can keep searching but you will not find anything like the Hermosa Treehouse. Let yourself be fully immersed in the Costa Rican experience. Just book it.

From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the lush surroundings and the stunning views from our treehouse perch.
The accommodation was not only immaculate but also thoughtfully designed, providing the perfect blend of comfort and tropical elegance. Waking up to the sound of the jungle, and the gentle sway of palm trees was a dream come true.
One of the highlights of our stay was the proximity to incredible dining options. Dining at Katana, we indulged in mouthwatering Asian fusion inspired cuisine, that left our taste buds dancing!
For another great dining experience, you have to check out Somos Café. This has a great atmosphere in the evening for socializing with locals and friends!
The Hermosa Treehouse's central location made it easy for us to explore other great places such as Uma, where you can enjoy a great beachside sunset drink.

The hermosa Treehouse is such a treat. Abosolutely amazing experience. The house is self is an architecturally a piece of art. The wood work and craftmenship is so beautiful and unique from anything I have seen before. The house offers a unique close connection with the outdoors the way is it layed out and the ability to open the walls and see out in the the jungle and ocean views from the top floor is so refreshing and just relaxing. Steve Jone and his staff make the whole experience so easy. Yoselin, the house consierge, was right there all the way. She setup all our excursions and having grown up there, had all the best knowledge of the area. Lastly Santa Teresa is a wonderful easy going and relaxed little city. If you want to get away from the Hotel or Resort experience and enjoy great restaurants, amazing and quite beaches this is a great way to go. The family all agree, this was the best vation so far and we definatley would like to go back. I find myself yerning to go back. I highly recommend the Hermosa Treehouse.
Highly recommended. We stayed here with our kids (10, 12) and couldn't have been happier. First, the location - it was perfect for us. Disconnected from downtown enough to feel private, quiet, and safe while being close enough to pop right in for one of the myriad restaurants. The food options in Santa Teresa are top notch and varied. Really easy walk to a great beach. One night we had a magical walk back from our downtown restaurant on the beach under the stars. Second, the house - also fantastic. It's a great mix of modern comfort and open, tropical. We had 8 people here total and never felt crammed and there are different levels of openness for sleeping arrangements (from totally open to closed, air-conditioned rooms). The pool/deck/kitchen floor was our hangout most of the time - great views over the ocean and trees. Last, the help - from cleaning to organizing an ATV and horseback tour we were well taken care of. Can't wait to get back!
Steve was a great host and made the entire Santa Teresa and Hermosa Treehouse experience, reservation to transportation to day activity recommendations through checkout so seamless for us! The beach is right there and the privacy of this open air well maintained and clean home is amazing. The staff is amazing and the cute tree monkeys and iguanas are so fun. (Just don't let them steal your poolside margarita and watch out for the bright orange mating dance iguanas showing off in the trees)! Excellent place to go and unplug, breathe fresh ocean air, do a little yoga, unwind and recharge. Great experience for a 4-5 person corporate leadership retreat. Pura Vida!
If you are reading this review, you can stop and rest assured this is the place to stay in Santa Teresa. To start with, it's a TREE HOUSE. But yet, it's got all of the amenities of a 5 star hotel. This place is well appointed; and most importantly; gorgeous. The chef's kitchen was amazing to dine in; but yet close enough to town and even neighborhood restaurants. The view at the tree house is dreamy, you can lounge by the lap pool; or a very short walk to a the most gorgeous sandy beach. ( with very few people, and no vendors) My favorite part was listening to the waves crash while in the one of the two master bedrooms with the billowing curtains tied back on the 4 poster bed. Talk about relaxing. You need to experience this for yourself! You can thank me later. Just book it, Hermosa Treehouse is a once in a lifetime experience not to be missed!
Still feeling relaxed and inspired from our wonderful stay at the amazing Hermosa Treehouse in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica! The four-story house has stunning architecture. It’s filled with beautiful teak wood throughout, multiple decks, huge walls of sliding windows, four comfy bedrooms all with spacious bathrooms, and nestled at the edge of the jungle with a short stroll to beautiful Playa Hermosa. Access is easy even in the rainy season, with each day clearing to lots of sun and warmth and ending with spectacular sunsets. So enjoyed our time in the warm water of the Pacific, finding treasures on the beach, and being greeted by monkeys dancing in the overhanging trees when we awoke in the mornings. The staff is excellent and left us with nothing to think about other than what we wanted to do each day. Was also impressed with the culinary options in town and all the great cocktails. Will definitely come back time and time again!

The views of the ocean and jungle are unparalleled and the pool is perfect for cooling off + cocktails and chats.
I looked forward to the 60 second walk to the beach every day (multiple times a day) — watching the surfers and playing in the waves.
The accommodations are first class. I slept like a baby and felt better than I deserved to every day.
Close to shops and restaurants, but not too close.
We loved the privacy and quiet when coming back to the house after a day or night out.
Morning beverages with the sounds of the jungle and watching our monkey friends will be with me forever ❤️

The Hermosillo Treehouse is a architectural dream. Every room, masterfully planned, provides amazing privacy in this unique jungle atmosphere. Having morning coffee watching monkeys swing branch to branch is a unique experience, and certainly erases the stress of the rat race back at home. The house is a short walk to the beach and a short drive into town packed with fun restaurants and bars. The house is extremely well managed. Anytime we needed anything - guidance on where to go, renting UTVs, aligning with surf pros for lessons- the house staff took care of everything.
We spent a week at this place last November and had the time of our lives. SUCH a gorgeous house. Beautifully integrated into the equally beautiful environment. A really short walk to Hermosa Beach, with it's awesome surfing. Incredible options for open air rooms with great views or enclosed rooms with AC if that's your thing. The kitchen and pool area are the BOMB. Tons of space for entertaining and surrounded by beautiful trees, with the occasional monkey or two wandering by. I can't wait to go back to this wonder of a house.
