I called Hawn about a problem with two of my bedrooms NOT receiving heat/ac. The person I spoke with suggested that my duct dampers might need replacing. She suggested that I book a furnace cleaning to save money on the service cost. I had to wait three months for this appointment. The service person looked at my duct work and shared that he, "really doesn't know very much about problem-solving duct work issues"....he assured me that, "I will speak with my supervisor and Hawn will get back to you as to what the issue might be". I was charged $335 and received no bill/receipt. After being asked for a bill/receipt, the service person told me..."K... is not in the office and it might be a week or more before you receive a receipt". I called Hawn the next day and asked the person who answered the phone for the bill/receipt. The person knew nothing about my situation...however, sent me a bill in my email (no paid in full receipt though). I shared that I was waiting for an answer to my hvac issue and the person reassured me that he would get back to me. After several days, I have not heard from the company and will not call them again as they are completely unreliable in that they sent a service-person who knew nothing about the problem I called about; moreover, I was charged almost $200 for this person to tell me he was not able to help me. In my humble opinion, this company preys on customers.

Great experience with Hawn Heating and Air Conditioning. Everything was handled professionally and the installation of our Navien combi boiler went smoothly. Doug Hayden and Frank did the install and they were excellent, very knowledgeable, took the time to explain everything, and clearly take pride in their work. I felt confident the system was installed correctly. Highly recommend.

I am a first time homebuyer and my furnace decided not to kick on anymore. I called the number on the sticker bc they have clearly serviced it before. I’m really happy I did! They were fast, polite and explained every step of the process very clearly. I will not hesitate to call them for any other heating and cooling concerns I have in the future.

I recently purchased a new high-efficiency gas furnace fromHawn Heating and Cooling. They didn’t offer me the lowest price, but they were pretty close. And the salesperson I worked with (Aaron, a member of the Hawn family) was prompt, knowledgeable, helpful, highly professional and very responsive in person and over the phone. The two-man installation crew did a terrific job and answered all of my questions. I found this company very good to work with. Hawn was recommended to me by a neighbor, and I sure am glad that he pointed me in their direction.

Our 32 y/o Rheem air conditioner finally quit working. We arranged to meet with 4 companies to get bids to replace it. One of them was Hawn Heating & Air. Their Representative, Frank Vitello, arrived promptly for his appointment. He introduced himself...was very respectful, shook our hands and we sat down to discuss our issues. He then went to look at the furnace in the basement (a brand new Amana furnace, installed 2 years ago from a competitor), then went out to look at the old Rheem air unit. He was knowledgable, professional and very detailed. We are customers, that do a lot of research ahead of time and consider ourselves well informed.....and we knew that what Frank was telling us was factual....unlike the other reps, who walked in, threw a piece of paper at us with prices (not even bothering to look at the house/stats). We selected Hawn Heating, even though (1) other bid for the job was lower. We received an official quote quickly, wrote out the 50% deposit for Frank to pick up and got on the install schedule. The installers were able to come sooner than they originally told us. Doug & Hayden arrived exactly on time at 8:00 am. They were polite & professional. They walked the house to get the lay of the land and began the work. By 12:30 pm...the new air was on, Doug walked us through what work had been completed. Asked us if we had any questions...we signed our paperwork, handed over the final check payment and off they went at 1:00 pm. The 5 hour install process was faster that we had expected. It was easy, stress-free and very much welcome. We highly recommend Hawn Heating and have told all our family, friends and work clients.

I was extremely pleased with Hawn Heating. With the harsh winter we are having I woke up this morning with no heat. I contacted Hawn and within 3 hours they were at my home and fixed the problem. The technician was very professional and courteous and explained everything that was going on. I would highly recommend Hawn Heating!!! Thank you

I asked for an estimate to replace my 20 year old furnace. I specifically asked for a furnace with the same heat output. The salesman then quoted me a much smaller furnace and then argued with me that my furnace put out too much heat for my house. I've lived here for 10 years and it cannot heat my house on the coldest nights. The price was reasonable, though. I wish he would have just listened to me. Edit after owner response: I specifically asked for a furnace with no less than my current 75K BTU output. The salesman then quoted me a 60K BTU furnace (20% less heat output) without consulting me. I then explained the unique characteristics of my home over email. My home has a finished and heated attic (a 3rd floor is about 50% more sq ft than the 2 floor sq ft he's referencing). And the outside walls are block construction from 1928 with no insulation. I explained that my current furnace sometimes runs 24 hours a day according to Nest and can not get the temperature over 68 degrees on the coldest days. The salesman continued to argue with me that he knew I needed a smaller furnace. I asked if Hawn offered some sort of guarantee that the smaller furnace would keep my house warm and they did not offer me any such guarantee. Hawn seems okay with rolling the dice on whether a furnace significantly smaller than the one that's been heating the house since 2004 can keep my family warm this winter. To Hawn: You should ask Frank to forward the 7 emails we sent back and forth. I see at least one lie about me asking for a 100K BTU furnace. I sent pictures of the 75K BTU rating of my current furnace. This salesman is costing you sales and your business' reputation. To Potential Customers: Don't gamble on being able to keep your family warm. Stay away from businesses who won't listen to you and who you cannot trust.

As far as the proposal for the replacement goes, we generally use ACCA Manual J calculations (or some variation of it) which is an industry standard used to measure how much heat a given structure needs on the coldest day of the year to size the replacement equipment. This takes into account the; size of the house, it's age, building materials, ductwork capacity, and any upgrades to the home. I'm fairly confident that your 1,600 square foot home does not really need a 100,000 BTU furnace as you requested.
It is our experience that most equipment that is 20 years old or older is oversized based on todays building science and the data it provides. In the heating and air conditioning world bigger is not always better. Oversizing the unit's capacity leads to an uncomfortable home and early failure of the equipment, among other problems. If your home has some unique characteristics that don't conform to the science behind how we arrived at the proper BTU output for it that we quoted, then I'm sorry we missed it. If you haven't already chosen a new provider we would be glad to come back to your home and do a more thorough analysis and either confirm our initial thoughts on the size furnace your home needs, or provide a new quote based on a different size furnace.

Can I give it a zero please Two visits to install a wall air conditioning unit because they did not bring the right parts and did not know what they were doing Lost time at work doubled for me And then made me late for my afternoon schedule by parking 2 (yes 2?!) of their vans in my driveway for no apparent reason and without asking so I could not get my car out Terrible, terrible service— air conditioning unit was supposed to be replaced in August and got done in November— really?!— is this a joke? Reaching to the Better Business Bureau and considering further action too

I am sorry that your experience with Hawn Heating didn't meet your expectations, however, when you write a negative review for everyone to see it would be nice if you included all the facts.
We tried to schedule the installation of your replacement ductless ac unit multiple times in August, September, and October – you and your wife either didn’t respond to our calls, or canceled the appointments.
We loaned you, and installed for you (at our expense) a portable air conditioner so you would have air conditioning all summer while you decided on a replacement unit and date for the installation. We brought the unit over late on a hot Friday afternoon in August because your wife was having her elderly mother in town for a family funeral – we didn’t want anyone to suffer any more than necessary under those circumstances.
Our technician specifically asked you if it was alright to park in the driveway knowing he was blocking your car. You said – “no problem.”
You are correct that we had to un-install and reinstall part of the system because we brought the wrong parts, but that did not lengthen the process from what we had originally planned for the job, and notified you about to begin with.
Please include these facts when you contact the BBB, I’m sure they would like to hear the whole story.

High quality work and affordable. I had our ducts cleaned in a new to us house that is 80 years old. The amount of dirt and dog hair that they removed was impressive. Highly recommend! We also had a mini split installed for out garage that works great. Both services very affordable and would recommend them to everyone. Thanks for the great work!

I recently made an appointment to have Hawn service my central air conditioning, which was only putting out slightly cooler than room temperature air this season. Shortly after making my appointment, Kim called back to inquire about the last time I changed the furnace filter. I was embarrassed to admit that I had not changed the filter since the furnace was installed (by Hawn) 4 years ago. Kim explained that a dirty/clogged filter could make all the difference in how the central air performs. I canceled my appointment and ordered a new filter online. I've worked with far LESS reputable HVAC companies who have full-out lied to me, trying to convince me of things that were not true and get paid for unnecessary work. The good people at Hawn felt it was more important to have me check an easy potential cause for poor A/C performance, rather than say nothing and ensure they'd get paid for at least a service call and new filter replacement. So, Hawn didn't get paid this time because I was able to take care of it myself. What they did was very smart, however. They effectively made me a customer for life. I was already pleased with their installation of my furnace 4 years ago. A company built on a foundation of honesty and integrity is well worth my hard-earned money and loyalty. Thank you, Kim! I'm so grateful you took the time to call me back and save me the expense for something I could do myself! And thank you to the entire Hawn family, from this happy customer-for-life! You're my go-to for all HVAC needs and I will absolutely recommend you to anyone seeking HVAC service!

There customer service is HORRIBLE! Tried to call about a possible thermostat problem they put in 3 months ago and the woman told me they can't come out until 4 months plus charge me a service call. She kept putting me on hold, until she didn't pickup anymore. NEVER AGAIN.

First time I called to schedule an appointment to have my duct and furnace cleaned the girl on the other end of the line said "hey" then hung up on me. I decided to contact them through email but they never responded to that. Finally I called again and scheduled service between 11 and 2. No call, no show and half a day wasted waiting.
