We had a lovely evening at Hav & Mar. The service and food was great. I would recommend the Hav Bread Basket. So good! We had the Havatini and Addis York for the entrees and we're not disappointed. The hostess and wait staff were kind to wish a happy birthday and that made the experience even more special. We really appreciated Kwane's service! We will definitely be back.

I can’t say one negative thing about our experience! The food was delicious, our service was attentive and very friendly and the restaurant itself was warm, stylish and inviting. Standouts: crab fried rice, Norwegian Forest Curry, Havatini pasta and a thoughtful, progressive wine list! A highly recommended experience.

— I really wanted to love this place. I just had Thanksgiving dinner there and the service was not so wonderful. I’m not sure the name of the server I had but she wasn’t very accommodating and literally said no to everything asked. For example, I asked for a mini martini, it is typically on the happy hour menu but I didn’t want a full martini. She says ok I’ll see if I can make it in a full glass. I ask - is there any way to do a mini martini. She says no. My mother asked the manager who said we may not have the ingredients of gin, vodka, picked onions and an olive. This response is very strange. I got some one at my table to split a whole martini with me. Which the restaurant was able to pour in 2 separate glasses. (With the same ingredients of the mini martini). My family ordered the bread basket. 2 of us were gluten free, do you think they offered gluten free injera? Nope. They just said you can’t have this. The octopus appetizer was good but the octopus was ovecrooked and chewy but the flavor was nice. Our entrees were subpar. My mom enjoyed her salmon and the chicken dish was good. My sister and I split the branzino which came with gluten free injera (which could have been offered with the bread basket if we had a thoughtful wait staff ). The branzino lacked flavor and when I asked for black pepper, I never received it. Overall my family left unsatisfied and after paying $500 for a meal we ended up going somewhere else for food after. I wanted to support a black owned space and I was hoping for a good experience at the bare minimum but that was not the case. I’m not sure if I will go back.

We are also sorry that your gluten free needs were not handled with care and that options like the gluten free injera were not offered when they should have been. Your comments about the dishes, from the overcooked octopus to the branzino lacking flavor, are equally important and will be shared with our team.

It is clear that this experience did not reflect the standard of hospitality and quality you expected, especially for a holiday meal. We appreciate you giving us the chance to learn from this and we are genuinely sorry that your visit fell short in so many ways.

Made a reservation here for Thanksgiving brunch and even received a text to confirm my reservation. Arrived at the restaurant to find it closed. The holiday hours listed said they are open from 11-2 for lunch, which is not true. I called to inquire about my reservation and no one is responding. It was a complete waste of my time, money, and day because the Hav & Mar team were not responsible enough to update their actual holiday hours on Resy.

Had an amazing dinner at Hav + Mar! The food was so good , literally everything we ordered was delicious except the crêpes, which were honestly the only miss of the night. The service was excellent from start to finish, super friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The ambiance is really cute too: warm lighting, great music, and a vibe that works perfectly for a date night or a dinner out with friends. Overall, definitely recommend and would happily go back!

Wow what a great experience! New flavors, delicious combinations, great service, scandi and color-popped furnishings and art. Super menu with sublime tastes - amongst our lunch group amazing Havatini 2 pasta w stunning flavors and just the right kick, great cornbread, tartare, sea bass, hummus, greens and fries. Excellent and very attentive service and good suggestions Bravo and worth a detour!

This place is special. Beautiful restaurant with a great vibe. our server Axle was friendly and warm and gave us great suggestions. For two- we ordered half dozen oysters, grilled octopus, tuna tartare, mushroom curry and the greens. Everything was delicious but the curry and greens were the standouts!. I will definitely be back.
