We are writing to review the services of Kilo K-9 LLC. Our experience with them has been exemplary. We purchased Joll, a professionally trained protection dog from them, and we got much more than a dog. We have peace of mind, as Joll will defend my family when I cannot. We received a fully-trained dog that meshed seamlessly with our family. Joll's extensive and customized training meets our needs, and Luis teaches us how to interact and work with a working dog. Having a well-behaved dog at home and in public was a real revelation. Joll is trained to be mission-oriented and not distracted. Luis is always professional and patient throughout all our interactions, encouraging us and ensuring Joll stays in top shape. We wholeheartedly recommend Kilo K-9 LLC to anyone seeking an exceptional protection dog or other dog training. Luis is also training our high-energy English Staffordshire Terrier, and her behavior differs between night and day. He believes in training dogs without "breaking" them. We cannot say enough good things about our experience.

Louis was able to help me get my dog from a reactive dog to a service dog. Before his help I was so overwhelmed with my dog as my dog would lunge and bite at the leash whenever any dog would pass by. Now, not only would you never know my dog was reactive but he also is in training to be a service dog and is at the point where he can do tasks and we are working on refining his training.

My puppy Ross has been to 3 awesome training sessions with Kilo K-9, Luis is a talented trainer and an expert in his field. In our first lesson he evaluated Ross’s knowledge of commands and comfort with the E-collar very quickly and then we began training! In these sessions I really am learning just as much as my pup! Luis walks me through how to get Ross to not only know what is being asked but really understand. It is so awesome to be so integrated in Ross’s training I am learning how to guide Ross and how to train him! Luis has been so flexible with training dates, flexible with Ross’s capabilities and really knows how to break down lessons and set us up for success- in such a short amount of time Ross has really exhibited so much growth! I am so excited for how amazing he will become as he continues training with Kilo K-9 to become a great working dog!!

My experience with Kilo K-9 truly exceeded my expectations! Shortly after adopting him, my senior dog started urinating in the house when I would leave due to separation anxiety. After trying to manage this for 6+ months and working with a vet to rule out medical causes, the vet recommended I try training and referred me to Kilo K-9. I had very low expectations because I had already accepted my fate of cleaning urine forever. In our initial consult it was clear that Luis was extremely knowledgable and I had a lot to learn. Luis came up with so many creative ways to approach our specific problem within the constraints of our circumstances. It was a relief to follow Luis's direction instead of trying to do it on my own! My dog went from peeing in the house almost daily (sometimes multiple times a day) to almost never, even going a full month without peeing, and no longer shows any other signs of separation anxiety. I am also now equipped with the tools to address this behavior should it become an issue again. Thanks to the extra effort put into recall, my dog and I now enjoy regular off-leash walks which wasn't even something I realized would be so great! I am so grateful to Luis for giving me the tools to clearly communicate with my dog which has been so rewarding and improved both his and my quality of life! Luis was easy to work with, flexible, and very responsive and helpful both during and between training sessions. 100% recommend!!

Luis is the best dog trainer in Flagstaff. He has so much patience, knowledge, and truly understands each individual dog’s behavior. He analyses each dog before creating a plan, and adjusts as need, not a cookie cutter program. Our pitty boy is very reactive and aggressive but, within a few training sessions, we have already noticed a huge difference. I can’t thank him enough on how much time and effort he has, and continues to put into our dog training. He helps in every way possible, constantly communicating and offering help every step of the way.

Luis is possibly the most skilled dog trainer ever! He truly has a gift and is incredibly knowledgeable about dog behavior. He is very personable and has an ability to provide simple instructions and achievable goals to make you and your dog successful. Luis introduced me and my dog, Pedro, to the e-collar. Pedro is now fully trained off-leash and at recall. Pedro also learned not to approach other dogs or people while off leash. Luis was also instrumental in helping me to stop my dog from running off as we don’t have a fenced yard. I found it very helpful that Luis supplied me with videos from our training sessions so I could reference them after he was gone. He was also very responsive to texts when I had questions after he left. Bottom line-I can’t say enough good things about Kilo-K9 and Luis. Thank you Luis. Life is so nice with a well trained dog:)

My 14-year-old son adopted a 5-year-old working line Black GSD. This dog was originally bought AKC as a puppy and the owner returned him to the breeder as she could not handle him, even after many hours of training. The Shepheard "Ze'ev" was on his way to being euthanized if no one was going to adopt him. The two boys bonded instantly, however, Ze'ev was highly reactive to other dogs and cars. I was lost on how to handle him and what to do. I was scared for the safety of Ze'ev and for humans. I was worried there would not be any trainer who could help with this situation. We found Luis and in just one session, we saw a positive improvement! My son wanted to be the front runner in the training and Luis was amazing at teaching my son how to work with Ze'ev. I would not change that experience for anything. We have received many compliments from so many others on how well-behaved Ze'ev is. The bond between a boy and his dog is stronger than anything. I actually see a future career for my son involving dogs. Thank you Luis for everything! You saved Ze'ev life and Clay's heart.

I recently had the pleasure of working with Luis who completely transformed my two dogs, Hope and Faith. My goal working with a trainer, was to walk my dogs safely leash. My dogs also lacked good manners when in public spaces and had a tendency to jump on guests when they first arrived. But after just a few sessions with this Luis my dogs are now completely different animals. Not only do they walk off leash safely, but they do so with impeccable manners and behavior. They are calm and collected in public spaces, and no longer do they jump on guests when they come over. I can honestly say that this transformation would not have been possible without the expertise and dedication of this wonderful dog trainer. I was so impressed by his professionalism, patience, and knowledge about dog behavior and training techniques. He truly had a gift for working with my dogs!

Luis was able to help turn my dog around.

Luis is extraordinarily knowledgeable and intuitive about dogs and dog behavior. He helped me figure out a difficult situation with my older dog and come to a good place of understanding my dog's limitations and how to create the best life possible for him going forward. I really appreciated his candor, knowledge, and willingness to talk, rather than just sign me up for training I didn't need. Highly recommend a consultation if you have any questions or issues with your pup!

All good things to say about Louis. Living over an hour from flagstaff finding a dog trainer was hard. Louis happily traveled to my location, for a very minimal extra fee. He also answered phone/text in between sessions when I had issues, analyzed videos of the problems, and made himself available after the training was over if needed. The pup in question was a large pretty (80-100 lbs) well trained dog but would get in to moods of “play” biting and jumping to grab hands and arms. Which at the size was unmanageable. We started at the beginning to build the foundation of training skills while working on the play biting issue. Mostly training me how and the concepts of why certain behaviors occur. Results are an incredibly well behaviors dog, who still gets in to playful moods but can be shut down on command when needed.

My working Shepard has severe leash reactivity towards other dogs. Luis and his team gave us the guidance to work through and manage this so we could progress! Luis is the only balanced working K9 trainer I have found that is actually willing to work on behavioral issues on a single session basis. Working alongside my Shepard through problems has always been the goal for us. Even from the first evaluation session, Luis worked with me to develop a plan for managing and eventually getting rid of the reactively all together. His expertise in this area is fantastic and always careful to set realistic yet positive expectations. Iv had 3 sessions with him and am excited for more.

We realized that our beautiful English Golden Retrievers puppy was very smart but also quite stubborn and showing some disturbing signs of dominance. My wife and I could not be more thrilled with the level of obedience and the now wonderful disposition that has been accomplished with our less than one year old pup. Luis is extremely professional knowledgeable and patient with the dog in training as well as the owner in training. We have had many dogs of many different breeds over the years but we have never owned such a well behaved wonderful dog thanks to Luis and his training.

Luis is great to work with. I have always trained my own dogs. But my 2 year old pup is just wired different. We were struggling with greeting people at the front door, and aggressive behavior with neighborhood kids. With 2 young kids at home, and friends over all the time, we had to stop this behavior asap. Luis gave me the tools and training needed to fix these issues. I highly recommend Kilo K9

Luis has been very helpful for me and my reactive/aggressive pup. Within the first session I saw a major improvement in my dog after implementing his techniques. What makes Luis stand apart from some other trainers is not just his knowledge in how to train dogs, but he could also explain the mechanics of how it worked, and most importantly he coached me on how to apply the training correctly in a low stress, fun, and personable way. If you want to not only see results in your dog but also learn how to be a better handler and owner, then Kilo K-9 is a good place to look.

Luis has been the biggest help with training our German Shorthaired Pointer. Always available and responds to texts or calls quickly. Incredibly knowledgeable with what to expect from our puppy and her training! 100% would recommend!
