Golden Unicorn is a classic dim sum destination with a lively, traditional atmosphere. The carts offer a wide variety of freshly made dishes, from dumplings to buns, all flavorful and satisfying. It’s a great place for group dining and a true taste of old-school Chinatown in NYC.
Always terrific dim sum, beef in rice noodles, shrimp dumplings, pork dumplings, made-to-order cart also great. Nice folks and large staff.

The problem was that my guests & I wanted to have dinner here on a Saturday evening on the Lunar New Year's weekend. We ended up waiting one hour to be seated but it was well worth the wait. Needless to say we were famished so we ordered the hot & sour soup to start and 4 entrees which we shared family style. The food was worth the wait and the service was friendly & quick, once got seated.

The food was really good and affordable. Eight of us ordered a variety of dishes to share. The only downside was the waiting queue on a busy weekend…

It’s been quite awhile since I last visited Golden Unicorn, and I must say that the ambiance has noticeably improved. Including the restroom 😅 We were on the second floor and the dining area is less cluttered and is culturally appealing. I am very glad to see that the dim sum dishes are still served through the push carts. Wish there were more places that offered this. The dishes were all tasty but the waitstaff forgot to place an entree that we ordered. They were also slow in bringing utensils that we requested. Nonetheless, we still had a wonderful time celebrating the Year of the Horse.

I was asking the server just regular water for my daughter. He was very inpatient and told me no water. So I went to the front desk and asked another person for water. He helped me with some ice water. Later, there were some english speakers (non-Chinese ) sitting next to our table, they were served immediately with ice water.
