I found Goldberg & Jones on Google and called for an affordable consult. During that consult I was quickly informed on the correct decisions to consider and was redirected away from false information I was given elsewhere. A year after that same consult, with no representation, I found myself still dealing with my divorce situation that complicated my career, my home life and my mental/emotional health, so I called back and asked to be represented. Immediately my consult from a year ago was pulled up and the Family Law group didn’t skip a beat. I was never placed on hold. I never had to wait more than 1 hour for a call back. I never felt out of touch through mail, email, text or phone call.
My experience with divorce was more complicated than any divorce I’ve heard about prior to handling mine. Yet, John Alarcon was the patient, kind-hearted shark I needed. We experienced set-backs along with major success within our 4months of working together and he navigated everything with an amazing attention to detail.
Would I recommend Goldberg & Jones? Yes! And if ever needed again for further services, I’ll search no further. Through hard work and dedication, John A. and this law group allowed a single father in the state of Oregon to remain a part of my children’s life way beyond what was expected.

I came across this review today (4/6/26). I’m so grateful for John A.
I’m grateful for this law group. I hear them on the radio (101.1) and it reminds me how grateful I am for trusting them. I stand by my review and I’m absolutely one grateful dad.
Steve O'Hagan from Goldberg Jones was a fantastic attorney. Very knowledgeable, he was always communicating with me on updates on my case I was never out of the loop and he was always straight up with me even when I didn't want to hear the facts in my extremely odd and difficult case. I would highly recommend him and his firm.

Thanks for taking the time to leave such a kind review, Darin. Effective communication is such an underrated characteristic to look for in an attorney, and we’re pleased Steve was able to keep you up every step of the way, even in unusual circumstances.
My husband hired Steve O’Hagan from Goldberg & Jones at the last second to help him with a very sensitive and important matter. Steve provided excellent advice and was very knowledgeable and responsive. He is a great attorney and we highly recommend him!

Hattie, thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. We’re so happy to hear that Steve was a valuable ally to have on your team during your case.
I cannot recommend Brandon Riffel highly enough.
We recently went to trial for a custody matter. His representation was nothing short of exceptional. Before the trial, he walked me through exactly what to expect, made sure I understood the legal procedures and every option available to me.
In the court he was calculated and calm. He went in with a plan and was able to adjust quickly when it was needed.
There were so many times through the process up until then that I felt completely overwhelmed by all of it. Brandon Riffel has a way of making you feel calm and confident. He is a true professional of the highest caliber. The dedication he showed to my case was beyond anything I expected. He worked incredibly hard to ensure the best outcome.
If your reading this and you aren't sure who you should move forward with i strongly recommend considering Brandon Riffel

Sam, thank you so much for taking the time to recommend Brandon. We may be biased, but we also think he’s a fantastic attorney. Family law cases can be so overwhelming, it’s important to have someone on your team who can keep it from dragging you under!
No help at all !!! Interrupted me the whole time wouldn’t let me talk at all definitely wouldn’t hire them at all.

Thank you for your feedback. The 45 minute initial consultation was spent going over two different legal proceedings, reviewing documents, and providing input on an imminent hearing, all at no charge. We strive to offer clear, useful advice to potential clients, whether it’s what they want to hear or not. We’re sorry to hear that you found nothing helpful in our free consultation. We wish you the best moving forward.
The attorney we hired assured us he could do the job, had our case closed before it even went to court!! When our court date came, he didn't show up! Nowhere to be found!! He sent someone else who not only didn't know a thing about our case but looked like he was lost! It was the worst experience ever! Needless to say it didn't go well. I would never recommend this firm to ANYONE! Not only did they not make the situation right but asked for more money to close the case!! Horrible.

We do not recognize you as a previous client. Certainly, the circumstances as described are not normal or familiar for our firm. Please have the client reach out to us directly so we can better understand and address their concerns.
I was very fortunate to have John Alarcon as my lawyer through my entire divorce process. He is very knowledgeable and an awesome person to have in your corner! He handled everything perfectly and made me feel confident during one of the most stressful times of my life. I HIGHLY recommend John!!!

Nick, it's so important to feel confident and comfortable with your representation. You have enough to worry about, that shouldn't be another headache. We're so happy to hear that you were able to put your faith in John and let him steer you through a tough time!
I recently had the help of Brandon with addressing some custody and parenting time issues I was having. He was knowledgeable about the process, gave good advice and was realistic about about what to expect. Overall, I am pleased with the outcome of my case and the services that were provided through Goldberg Jones and my attorney.

Thank you so much for the kind review, Ian. We're happy to hear that Brandon was able to achieve a positive outcome in regards to your parenting time issues. Keeping parents and kids in each other's lives as much as possible is one of the key pillars of our practice.
Michael Hess was great to work with, and has been invaluable to stay in touch with. There is a world of unknowns and re learning when everything is said and done, and he has been there to answer my every question. Excellent customer service during and after the process.
Use him if possible; he is responsive, smart, efficient, and cost effective using mediation and good, sound strategies.
Wish I had found him earlier in my process.

Erik, you may wish you found Mike sooner, but we're glad you got here eventually and that he was able to help you through your case!
This has been the hardest , most confusing, and yet mentally difficult time of my life. I cant explain how much doubt I had trusting my "life" (my kids) with some guy named Brad Gerke.
I have been through multiple stages of divorce and custody, the doubt, the deals, the trust, the second guessing your choice. thinking i know better, worrying that they don't get it.
But when Collin said he had the right guy for my case he meant it!
Skillfully trained, and notably aggressive in trial he did not let me down. Also his whole staff from his Paralegals, co-counsel and Gina's inviting smile when you walk in- 10/10 recommend
First off, if Chance somehow still has a job he is a complete joke, uneducated, weak minded, and only sees dollar signs. That also sums of this agency as a whole. From the sleazy head of the office to the whole process. This is such a scam for anyone seeking a legitimate and smart group in Washington and Oregon. Never give them your business. FYI I came out on top with my lawyer I changed too mid divorce if that helps.
Brandon Riffel at Goldberg Jones truly made a difference during a tough time. His space, empathy, and honest guidance helped me navigate a difficult situation with clarity. He listened carefully and provided the support I needed to manage my separation without judgment. Brandon also helped me explore the best options to save money and ensure my children’s well-being. Thanks to him, I feel confident and ready to face what’s ahead.

Thank you so much for the lovely review, Shannon. This can be such a difficult, chaotic time, it's important to have someone you trust to demystify the process. We can't tell you how happy we are that Brandon was able to support you and your family.
Fathers beware!!! Don’t waste your time or money on these thieves. They conveniently wasted away my retainer ($5K) in a matter of a week or so. Don M. from the firm never followed up and just enjoyed my hard earned money for VERY little in return. When asked to have a partner contact me to explain the over exaggerated charges Don went into salesman mode and tried to pretend he cared so I’d give them more money. If I could give them negative 5 stars I would. Crooks.
Not very helpful, in fact they were the opposite of helpful. They sent me away because I was a few dollars short of their retainer. Even though I had the funds and could show them they let me represent myself rather than allowing me to pay them the remainder of their retainer after the weekend (Which was still a couple of days before my court date). I do not recommend these guys.
I wanted to refute the claim of the so called Lawyer who replied to my post. The ONLY thing these guys were concerned with was getting their full retainer in cash. They said they could definitely be prepared before the court date. Especially, since all they would have had to do was file a motion to set the trial over for a month while they prepared. I am still dealing with negative repercussions because they wouldn't accept a debit card when I could give them 5k in cash and had the remaining $2,500 in my account. The rebuttal this guy posted is simply a lie? Oh wait...Lawyers lie? Yeah, we all know they're shysters

UPDATE: We stand by our previous response form years ago. As stated then, we do not take every case and are very concerned about adequate preparation and the actual costs that our clients may incur overall. I wish you would not have waited until the last moment to reach out to us but wish you the best moving forward.
Original Response: For those reading this review: We were contacted less than a week before Trial on a case that had been ongoing for 12 months. We provided a free phone consultation and answered any questions that were asked. We were very direct in letting him know the required retainer along with a deadline based on our need to have sufficient time to prepare. Being unable to hire us in time to prepare is/was a dealbreaker, as it apparently was with any other attorney that may have been contacted.

Any men out there that are going through a divorce DO NOT USE THIS LAW FIRM. I just through away $7000 to have my attorney ghost me week after week, not tell me about court dates at all so I missed a very important one, and because of that my wife got everything she wanted and I basically lost my daughter. The excuses I was given sounded like they came from a child. The best part of all was they allowed someone that wasn't there client fire my attorney. I never new other people could fire someone attorney but apparently with this company if someone else calls in upset with them that person has the ability to fire your attorney without discussing anything with you at all. I'm 39 how my father ( not there client at all) was able to call in upset with the situation and some how without discussing anything with me at all and even after I stated I never fired my attorney its up to me if I want to fire my attorney or not not my father who isn't there client at all. Didn't matter because I father was angry with them that decided that it ment I wanted to fire my attorney. No where did I ever give my father any permission to speak for me in anyway at all but that didn't matter. Without speaking with me at all they decided that since he was unhappy that I no longer wanted it needed an attorney. when I clearly sent muiltiple emails to my attorney telling her I don't care what my father said she's my attorney and I'm not firing her. I also sent emails to her boss saying my father isn't there client I am and I never once said I wanted to fire m attorney. but they still decided that my father a 3rd part person had more of a right to be hear there me their own client. I never once said I wanted to fire my attorney and never once agreed to having her removed but that didn't matter. I feel everyone should have the right to know what there getting into before they get screwed over like me when my attorney new about a major court date and didn't say a thing to me making me miss it, never followed through with what she told me giving my wife's attorney time to do what my attorney wouldn't even though it was her idea in the first place and because if that I haven't been able to see my daughter for almost 2 months and I've got another 2 months to wait for my next court date. my person experience with Gikdberg Jones legal team is I got screwed over and my attorney gave my wife everything she wanted, my attorney did more for my wife then she did for me but I still had to pay for it and loose my daughter at the same time

Daniel, unfortunately we cannot legally or ethically respond to your claims here in this public forum. However, we can state that we must be on the same page as our clients in order to truly represent their best interests. Our decision to withdraw from your case was not based on your father’s input. We wish you the best of luck moving forward and still believe in the goals you’re trying to achieve.
John Alacron was an outstanding attorney for me. Great relationship and great results. Thanks.

Thanks so much for the review, we truly appreciate it. It means the world to our firm that John was able to help get you the results you were looking for.
Im told this practice is known among Judges as the "angry man firm" and when their name is on your case you have an uphill battle from the get go. Not sure how I can be any more uphill with the terrible service they provide....
Danielle Aahcraft was uncommunicatove for weeks at a time, made important legal decisions on my behalf without consulting me and "spent" the entire 10k retainer doing nothing, then dropped me days before our case when I challenged her poor communication and performance. She even failed to notify me that the mother of my child switched from a joint cousdy request to pursuing sole custody until the week of trial despite knowing for weeks.
Immorral. Arrogant. Unhelpful.
Stay away
Update: while the owner takes the time to respond to reviews, he apparently doesnt care enough to return numerous phone calls, but carwa only to present positively to the public. After receiving nearly zero assistance and being lied to by Danelle, I was billed for 9994 and some change out of my 10000 retainer for a 5 dollar refund. Pure fraud imo.

Mr. Piro, communication is a two-way street, especially respectful, constructive communication. We pride ourselves on educating our clients and providing information about their legal and strategic options, even when it’s not what they want to hear, so they can make the best decisions of the choices in front of them.
As we discussed previously, your hearing was rescheduled, giving you plenty of time to prepare your arguments for the positions taken by your wife. We believe in your case and wish you the best of luck finding an attorney who is a better fit for you.

I strongly recommend Colin Amos for their help and expertise for some questions I had related to a third-party divorce. His advice and guidance was invaluable. I also commend Billy Prince for all his hard work in that divorce. Both men are careful listeners who work hard to make sure that you get the best counsel for your case and concerns, explaining things patiently, and expertly guiding your case. I highly them and their firm to anyone who needs the best attorneys to help with their divorce.
I can’t recommend Goldberg Jones highly enough. They handled my parenting time issues with my ex-wife, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish.
My attorney, John Alarcon, was exceptional. He was extremely responsive, thorough, and genuinely invested in my case. This wasn’t just a job to him—he put real effort and emotional commitment into advocating for me and my child.
Because of John’s dedication and skill, I was able to achieve 50/50 parenting time—something I truly believe would not have happened without him. If you’re dealing with a stressful and emotional family law situation and want someone who actually cares and fights for you, I highly recommend Goldberg Jones and John Alarcon.

Robert, we're so happy that John was able to help you get you equal parenting time. Ensuring parents stay a major part of their children's lives is important to us as individuals and as a firm, and is a huge part of why we dedicated ourselves to family law!
I regret hiring this firm. I trusted their advertised expertise and assurances that they would protect my interests, but the outcome was the opposite.
What went wrong:
The final divorce judgment they approved for me to sign off on was poorly drafted and lacked critical details and foresight. Within six months, serious issues arose that required additional legal intervention.
These errors have left me with long-term financial and legal complications that could have all been avoided with good representation.
When I returned to Goldberg & Jones for help and pointed out these issues, they advised me to represent myself (even in court).
I had to hire a new attorney because I was not comfortable representing myself. After consultations with multiple different firms reviewing my final divorce judgment and current legal problems, every attorney agreed they would never have allowed me or any client to sign off on my final divorce judgment.
The lack of attention to detail and inadequate guidance has resulted in ongoing stress, wasted time, and significant additional costs. I trusted them as a first-time client as I have no prior legal experience and spent 4 to 6 times what a normal divorce should cost. I thought I was hiring the best of the best.
Bottom line: If I could do it again, I would never hire them. Their lack of attention to detail and inadequate guidance has cause me ongoing cost, stress, and expenses which I will need to endure for years to come.

Justin, we take all client feedback seriously, which is why you received an email response from us back in December when you first shared your concerns. We can’t share specifics of that here in this public forum, but as you’ll recall, we go into great detail about the settlement that was reached, with your complete involvement and agreement. If you still have questions regarding your representation, we’re still more than willing to discuss them with you. Again, we wish you the all best moving forward
