This is a cool little cafe off the beaten track that serves excellent food, tea, coffee and cold drinks. The little shop attached sells local products and the owner is a passionate baker with a flare of the Irish spirit. Set in the old station there is lots of history you can read about on the wall displays or just relax and enjoy this peaceful oasis of culinary delights tucked away in Gingin. A hidden tourist gem and well worth a visit.
Ah David thank you for you nice kind words. We look forward to seeing you again.

We visited this hidden gem in Gingin – Trackside Railway Cafe!
Met the wonderful Irish owner, Teresa, who impressed us with her passion for baking. She bakes all her delicious treats from her own commercial kitchen at home! 😍 Not only that, but Teresa also offers a heartwarming community service every week – free tea, coffee, and cake! ☕🍰
This cafe has a unique charm as it operates on the old Midland rail line, which sadly no longer runs to Gingin. Being off the beaten track, business is tough for Teresa, but she perseveres with her delectable goodies and warm hospitality! Let's support this extraordinary woman and experience the flavours of her heartfelt creations! 💪❤️🚂
Thank you so much for your kind review. It was a pleasure talking to you and I am glad you enjoyed your meals. Look forward to seeing you again soon.

Trackside Railway Cafe catered for our family gathering last weekend. The food was absolutely delicious and exceeded our expectations! Customer service could not be faulted, they even delivered the food ready to serve at our front door.
Highly recommend to anyone needed catering, we will most definitely be using their services into the future.
Thank you so much for such delicious food and such a great experience!
Thank you for your kind words and review. I loved meeting you and your family and am glad you enjoyed everything. Outside catering is something I want to more of in the future.

Scones, jam and cream very nice.
Beautiful wisteria flowering on balustrade at front of building.
Staff very friendly. Busy at 10.00am when we were there.
Well done Trackside Railway Cafe.
Thank you for your kind words and review. Scones are a classic and one of my favourites and now spring is coming there is nothing better than to sit outside with a cuppa and some treats. Look forward to seeing you again soon.

It could be a lovely place but the service is really bad. Staff didnt welcome us, didnt say even a hello or look at us when we entered. Lady taking the order seemed angry because we disturbed a private chat/breakfast with our order but the cafe was open.
We asked for almond lattes, yes, it is a bit special, not just a coffee but if you cant make it, dont sell it, easy.
This is a shame because the atmosphere of the renovated train station / museum is good, that's why we choose this cafe instead of the other in the park but was a mistake.
Thanks for your review. The Gingin Trackside Railway Cafe and Station is now under new management so we hope you will come and see us again soon.

Wow…. This is a place you don’t want to miss. The freshest homemade cakes and treats in Gingin. Our cooked breakfast was lovely and yummy. Irish Soda bread was just like my nanny used to make it. Amazing friendly service, I’d go back just for the chats and laugh with Mrs T. Great service which was what we heard about and drove all the way from Perth to Gingin just to eat here. Would highly recommend 10/10.

Local History in a former 1891 Railway Station
Lovely old building dating to 1891 and tastefully restored to its former glory albeit for different uses. It apparently becomes the Tourist Information Centre at weekends and Public Holidays, there is also a café doing a steady trade when we visited. There is a local history display, not extensive but certainly interesting on the early settlers, the Cheriton Estate, Gingin and Granville Hotels and associated old photographs.

Awesome coffee and home made scones.
Lovely homemade sweet and savoury items at the cafe and Alison and Phil are wonderful people. The art displays are always great and add to the character of the Station.

What a great little find
We were just driving through Gingin and thought we'd stop and check out the newly restored railway station. What a great little spot, and lots of history, such friendly staff which is important to me for a venue. We will definitely be back to have lunch there, will bring my mum along as she loves anything to do with trains.
