Not at all what was expected. Its not funny at all! Our experience was the same drag artist with four dancers miming and dancing to different songs. There were a lot of gaps filled with playing songs like a disco with celebrations read out such as birthdays etc. There was no audience participation whatsoever. I booked front circle seats but when we arrived the seats are set out like a bus facing each other and not the stage. To top it off there was a man and woman who had split up and taken the seat closest to the stage on both sides which left my husband and I with no view at all. The woman was already drunk before the show started and was rude to my husband when we asked if they were together. She then made it uncomfortable for me as I she kept just looking at us and making faces which we ignored as didn't want to make the situation worse. We asked the staff if we could have alternative seats but were told that it was booked out completely on the circle. We didn't think much of the show anyway so left at 10.15. After yet another mime and dance routine with no comedy element to it. Overall not a good experience and felt it was a waste of money. Left the jug of Glitterberry which I had purchased on the table, which just tasted like a jug of cranberry juice and lemonade. Such a shame as we were really looking forward to a fun evening π
Absolutely amazing night.
What a night, first time going, bestie's had been a few times and explained how good it is but it was more than she could of said. Love every minute, we had to pre show meal and that was amazing as well.Credit to everyone that was involved in all departments.Definitely will be returning.Thank you for an amazing night from start to finish.
A great laugh - fantastic outfits and set design, amazing energy from the performers, and a team of staff who just want you to have a good time.
Food at the restaurant is lacking in presentation, but was surprisingly tasty. It's no fine dining, but will certainly line your stomach before the show. It's a bit retirement home - not one that steals from the residents, but one that is doing the best with what it has. If you combine the show ticket and meal, I'd say the value is on-par with what you're served.
The show, however, is fantastic. We went to see the Halloween performance - a mashup of melodies from stage shows, with unique sets and costumes for each. The performance is lip-synced (with the occasional hilarious ad-lib, and a cracking finale vocal performance from Host Ritzy), but the entertainment comes from fantastic, energetic choreography, sight-gags, and silicone boobs. The performers really give it their all, and the work backstage is top notch.
Staff around the venue are friendly, cheeky, and attentive. Pricing isn't extortionate by any stretch, but you will have the best time if you're looking less at the cost of the drink, and more at the bottom of the glass.
For a Wednesday night, it was packed out. Booths could do with a little extra padding, and the venue itself has some age related wear and tear, but the girls and the gays make this place come alive.
Get a group of your friends together, book a booth, get nice and tipsy, and cheer your heart out. You'll have a great time.
Amazing show, definitely worth seeing
We went to watch the Halloween show with 2 people who we support and had the best night! Our drinks host was absolutely amazing and so caring. The show itself was fabulous with humour throughout. I often come to watch the different season shows and everything it is always different. Literally a place I love coming and always have the best night out. Continue with the amazing work you all do. Definitely recommend for people to watch the show. Worth every penny!! β₯οΈ
Birthday treat
Well what can I say! My husband booked the show as a birthday treat. This was one of the best shows I have seen. From crying with laughter to dancing in the isles you will not be disappointed. DJ Carmen is absolutely hilarious and keeps the audience entertained throughout. The whole cast are amazing and well worth going to see.Pre order cocktails are fab too!Cant wait to return.
Felt something missing this time
This was our second visit to Funny Girls and to be truthful it pales in comparison to our trip last year, I can't help but feel there are things going on behind the scenes as staff were all quite down and there wasn't the happy bubbly atmosphere we experienced last time a vast majority of the staff appeared to be "very new" and lacked the polished appearance we had at our last experience and I wonder if they could benefit from some guidance and support from the more experienced artists. The building itself I felt could do with a good clean the carpets were grubby and while clean the bathroons smelt of mildew and damp. The show itself appeared a little disjointed and a couple of songs didn't seem relevant to the show and were more fillers (This may just be my personal view) The dancers were great and while it was comedic in part what you'd expect from a Funny Girls show there was just a little something missing from this one.I wish that this rewiew was more positive as funny girls is a fabulous inclusive venue, however if I am honest we might wait a while till we return.
