Unbelievably bad! I made the reservations. My son asked the lady helping us if we could put just him as a driver, as I preferred not to do the driving, or if that would cost extra. She said no problem, we'll put him on, and there would be no additional charge. She finished the paperwork and they charged us an extra $48. We told her we just had this discussion and she had told us there was no extra charge. She said she can't play favorites and this is the cost and on and on. We reminded her again that we just had this conversation. She made several claims - that it was because I made the reservations, and something else I can't recall. The story kept changing. And she was seriously escalating. People started looking our way. I started getting worried she would call a security guard and have us thrown out of there, when it was SHE who was getting worked up. I finally paid the money and apologized to her. She said thank you. That was the weirdest interaction I've ever had with a worker. It was worth $48 to get out of that place. I will never, ever, ever do business with Fox again.

This is a terrible rental car company and will be sure to not ever choose them again. They gave a scare tactic of in the state of **********, youre required to purchase liability insurance through the car rental even after I told him that I dont need it and I have full coverage on myself with my car insurance. After trying to dispute it, they wont allow me to cancel and the only way to cancel was to go back to their office. My this time o was 3 hrs away from any location. Their only locations on the area was in the airport in *************, *******, ***. All of which was a couple hundred of miles from where I was from. And upon speaking to their manager, they had the ******** to put blame on me. That I shouldnt have purchased the insurance. I explained that I was afraid of the way I was treated by their employee and again they put the blame on me, saying why didnt I ask for a manager. Like how was I supposed to know that they were up selling and not really looking for my best interest. Ive rented at other places and other states and not (unfortunately my first in ****) ever was I felt condescended but those words in the state of **********, it is by law that you purchase insurance through the car rental company something which did not sit right by me. So I researched, called their customer service line, all of which was being forwarded to the ***********, there were no direct lines to any of the US establishments. Even their call center couldnt give me a number to contact their office in the **. Anyway, those lines in the state of California haunted me and after research I found out it was a lie and they wouldnt refund me, even after contacting them the following day. Furthermore, they do not accept any other form of payments unless itsa credit card, they do not take a debit with a **** logo. There was another lady who had this problem and was forced to rent elsewhere. Everything about them is TERRIBLE. In fact I think ******* could do without them.

Rented a car in Chicago for a Wednesday to Sunday. My brother died on Sunday and I needed to extend my rental. I was charged a 300$ fee to extend the rental on top of the rental fee. It ended up costing me over 550$ to extend my rental for 4 days. Terrible, would never rent from them again. Don’t have an emergency cause they will take advantage of that.

Wish I could give them no stars. Staff is rude and shady. They answer questions as if the customer should already know everything and they kept adding charges for this and that. Supervisor was a rude and short with customers. I ended up cancelling my reservation and went back to the airport by shuttle to rent a car through ENTERPRISE!!!!!!

Had the extreme displeasure of renting from Fox. I reserved and prepaid for my rental vehicle. This lady told me to shut the F up and if I wanted better service I should have rented from Hertz or Sixt. I now unserstand why the reviews are so poor. When I asked for a manager she refused to get one. The young lady who was working next to her asked her to leave the counter since she wasn't helping any customers. She also refused to leave saying " I'm not going no Gotdam where". I asked if she was having a bad day she began to tell me "she didnt need this $20 job because she has a BMW". I would like a manager to contact me today.

BEWARE of this company. I booked them with credit card points and it was paid in full with a confirmation. I arrive at night and they tell me that no payment was received and in order for me to have my car I have to pay AGAIN. They give me a managers email who never replies to me (still waiting and it's been over 10 days) Still fighting to get my money back a week later with them. The shuttle from airport took almost an hour to pick us up too.
DO NOT BOOK. NO MATTER WHAT THE DEAL ITS NOT WORTH IT.

I would definitely not recommend renting a car from Fox Rent a Car. In October 2024, I made a reservation with this company. It was only after I saw the charge on my Visa statement that I discovered the charge was in US funds. The reservation confirmation did not indicate that the charges were in US funds. I immediately cancelled my reservation and requested a refund of the charges. According to the terms of the rental agreement, because I cancelled my reservation more than 24 hours prior to the pick-up date and time, I was eligible for a full refund. However, Fox Rent a Car informed me that they would only provide a “store credit” that could be used for a future reservation. That is not the same as a refund. I have sent the company several emails requesting a full refund in accordance with their policy as stated in the rental agreement. But they continue to refuse to provide a full refund.

Ive rented from Fox Rent A Car, *******, ** (**********************) for years, drawn by their competitive pricing and excellent customer service. Unfortunately, my recent experience was shockingly disappointing.Upon arriving, I was helped by an employee named ***** Gaxio, whose dismissive and unprofessional attitude set the tone for the visit. No greeting, no courtesyjust **** demands for my license and credit card. The pricing was outrageous: over $1,100 for a rental that previously cost $300$400. When I questioned the price hike, he claimed it was due to theft by local customers. Penalizing loyal locals for theft? Thats baffling and bad business.The only positive interaction was with *******, who checked in the vehicle with kindness and professionalism.While Fox Rent A Car may have made a large sale this time, theyve lost a loyal customer. Poor service and inexplicable pricing policies are a recipe for driving customers away.

Made a car reservation for Miami 12/21-12/24. Received guideline as to what to do upon arrival. Walk thru the airport to exit the car rental center to designated shuttle spot and wait at spot 1 or 2. Waited at spot one, only to be told by Airport attendant, Fox shuttle only stops at spot 2. Moved ourselves and luggage to spot 2. And there was the endless wait for the shuttle that supposedly should come around every 15mins 11am-12pm. 45mins later no shuttle, called the car pick-up location multiple time, heard the ring tone, NO RESPONSE and no VM prompt to leave a message. Another company shuttle that took couple trips dropped off and came around (now we are at 1:20mins wait) offered to drop us and the other travelers to FOX! We arrived, waited our turn with the representative, questioned the no phone answering "OH WE HAVE NO RINGING PHONES HERE" and about the promised shuttle transportation "THE DRIVER MIGHT BE OFF OR CALLED OUT SICK"!!!! In the meantime, no communication, no message in that regard to the customer waiting! We had zero time while crossing the airport to stop at a food court, as we were hurrying to meet the 1:15pm car pick-up time, stuck as we didn't want to go back into the airport fear of missing THE SHUTTLE, while my diabetic husband was only able to have some nuts and a fruit bar, and my fear of him dropping into a sugar low situation. We did our due diligence to arrive within 30mins of our car pick-up time, and here we were, going thru the WORST car rental experience! Emailed the Sr. Operations Manager, Maryuri ** in Miami, shared what took place in details, only to get a response, that their shuttles run every 15mins 11am-12pm...as if I wasn't truthful in what i shared! I FIND THAT RESPONSE EXTREMELY INSULTING AND A TERRIBLE ASSUMPTION ON HER PART! No apology on behalf of the agency, extremely unprofessional! Note to self, choose car rentals companies that are available in the car rental center on the Airport grounds. Hoping that the company's CEO would read the reviews...Wishful thinking!

Rented car. Turned down extra insurance and agent charged anyway. Told me one thing and did something totally different then gave me screen to sign but was late at night. Didn't see the fine print numbers because lost my glasses on plane. Then when returned denied doing. Totally ridiculous.

Charged $700 in service add-ons for a $200 car rental that were never disclosed. Yelled at by staff when I tried to have the charges removed. Never rent from these scammers! Hope they go out of business. If you have also been scammed, try to file a complaint with the BBB.

Despite all the bad reviews ... for $12 per day and a free shuttle from the airport (you have to wait for the specific Fox shuttle from the airport because if you take one that looks like it has a lot of different car rental places it's not that because you'll have to go back to the airport and it might be a 45 min wait for the bus) and the cars are clean and have no issues, it's a great deal. At a certain time at night when you drop off the car, I don't think there's a shuttle because I asked and they said they don't have one so I took an Uber to the airport about 1 mile from Fox. The Uber took 25 minutes for the 1 mile and it cost $21.50 ... there is so much traffic going to the airport for 1 mile so you're better off walking or taking a bicycle if you don't have much and there are sidewalks. But Other than not having a free shuttle after drop off at night time around 9:45pm, this is a very good value rental for your money. I would rent from them again. The Staff were very nice and friendly. And my car was very clean and did not have any residue of cigarette smoke.

Do not use this company, avoid at all costs! The hidden fees are ridiculously excessive, and you will end up paying more in the end. They charged me $***** extra for EACH toll i incurred on the toll roads because I did not want to purchase the daily toll pass. I was not going to be using the toll roads every day I was there, so the pass seemed like a waste of money at $13.00 a day. I ended up using toll roads between ******************* and the airport 2 days, and had to unexpectedly drive them one other day. and *** charged me ***** PER TOLL!!!! I paid $75.00 in "administrative " fees and about $30.00 in actual tolls! Are you serious? I also purchased the rental through ******* as a prepaid package and *** sent me an extra $240 bill for some other BS. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

They are misleading and fraudulent. We didn't get the type of vehicle reserved. We were mislead on the final fees and taxes total which were $200 plus more. They didn't want to make things right afterwards. For what we paid and the low quality of service in the end, we should've gone with a more reputable car rental and would've paid the same. Also their wait time was twice any other car rental ive used in the past. After reading numerous other reviews on them, I understand they do this type of misleading deception on a daily basis. Hence they continue to steal renters money, we all sign the contract because the alternative is delays that will ripple effect to missed flights, missed appts, missed reservations and upsetting our trips. FOX rental is eventually going out of business by word of mouth. Since the countless renters they decieve and refuse to acknowledge their valid complaints. Word of mouth for bad service will catch up to them. Again me, my family and everyone i can reach will not be renting from Fox haha booyahh.

Told Fox Rental Car agent I did not need added insurance as I had my own to cover vehicle. He said I had to add charge $205 on my credit card but said I would get back credit to card when return the car. Not the case. Charged $205. Both Expedia and Capital One could not get back money and Fox denied request. Scam to increase fee. Do not use this company.

Scam scam scam!!!! Atlanta rental location scammed Me out of my money and never canceled my reservation when I clearly told them that I wasn't paying a $1000 deposit for a $300 rental. I prepaid also, and I'm still fighting to get my money back!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! This was the WORST rental experience I have ever had or imagined. We reserved and paid for a full size SUV (7-9 seat) to ******* to ******* from ******* (we live locally) specifically to fit 7 people to a wedding. Not only did they say they didn't have any more full sizes (after signing the agreement), they refuse to compensate for our reservation in any way. I was at one point hung up by their billing department saying they will have a supervisor call me (never did). We had to take 2 cars and the lack of accountability and professionalism (even without a refund) is unreal. They then (of the $1000 deposit we had to pay) returned less $182 for car insurance that we didn't even realize we agreed to. So now we are out $400 (not including the second car we had to take). I see clearly why they have 2 stars on ****** and should have checked into that first. We plan to take further action.
