I would strongly encourage everyone who reads this to ask yourself if you should trust your valuables with or give your money to a company that has filed for bankruptcy. This can be googled for clarification and confirmation if you didn't receive the bogus letter sent out by the "Bankrupt CEO" (CEO of what??? 2 People?) with an address at the bottom of the letter being a Post Office in Wellington, FL. Google it!
The NYC address listed is CLOSED. The address listed on their website as 608 5TH AVE, NEW YORK, NY 10020 is CLOSED. Call the building and ask (212) 984-7070. Fortuna has NO NYC office anymore. The address on a letter sent out to cheated customers reads 14611 Southern Blvd, Ste 272 Wellington, FL 33470. It's a POST OFFICE and their "suite number" is a PO BOX. Seems a little sketchy to me.
I would suggest referencing various other accurate 1 Star reviews on this platform and other platforms. Not the fake 5 Star Google Reviews, one of which ,surprisingly, has the same last name as the "CEO".
You will clearly see doing any form of business (buying or consigning) will put you at an elevated financial risk that's not worth taking when there are so many other options besides Fortuna.
NO OFFICE, NO ANSWERING CALLS, OWE THEIR CLIENTS MONEY OR JEWELRY, BANKRUPT, POST OFFICE AS AN ADDRESS ON THE "CEO" LETTER.
DO NOT BELIEVE A WORD THE SMOOTH TALKING "CEO" WRITES OR SAYS. People have left reviews calling them CRIMINALS. Think about that.
What's the upside of doing business here? There is none.

Bankrupt business in financial ruin that should be avoided at all costs. They owe money to the vast majority of the people they took jewelry from and people are not getting paid.
***DO NOT SEND YOUR VALUABLES OR MONEY TO THIS BUSINESS***
They have major problems and you will regret doing any form of business here. There are many other places to sell your valuables. Why work with a BANKRUPT COMPANY?
This place is bankrupt and in financial distress. They owe everyone and their mother money. You think you gonna get paid? Think again. They aren't stand up people and everyone should know to avoid this place like the plague.
Take your business to a sound and secure place where you know you will get your money. Fortuna isn't that place. Bunch of fast talking scammers and crooks.
This firm is bankrupt. They owe me money and have not sent it to me in over six months and you will not get paid.if they sell something
of yours Do not send your jewelry to them and do not expect to get money back from anything they may sell.Do not send your jewelry to them. You will regret it
CRIMINALS. Owe me over $12K for a consignment piece, unable to reach them by email, text, phone calls etc. After retaining counsel in NY, they finally sent out a mass email stating they are filing bankruptcy in NY where they are based - now starting new and accepting consignments in FLORIDA. BEWARE do NOT send your high value items to these crooks!!

Do Not Send Jewelry to Fortuna
Fortuna has sold jewelry for me in two auctions . one in December and one in January. They have not sent me my proceeds and do not answer their phones emails or texts. I have had to file a complaint with the NY attorney general's office and the FBI. Do not give your jewelry to this organization.
In addition they have closed their NY showroom safe and all moved to Florida.
This auction house is a sham!! Do not trust them!! They do not pay their consignors!!
This is a terrible place to sell or buy jewelry. I have listed many pieces with them an have not gotten my payments from two auctions they do not answer the phone. Do not answer text message or emails. My understanding is that they have closed their business in New York and they have moved to Loxahatchee Florida.
I cannot get paid by Fortuna for over six months for merchandise that was sold by them.. ..
I don't like to post bad reviews but there is NO response from them which is unethical and unprofessional, ..total black out...
I've sent a dozen requests by email and phone calls for payments to the owners..
Apparently they have relocated from N.Y to Florida,
I'm hearing from industry insiders they owe money to many vendors.
March 15 2025 update....Since my post three weeks ago, I still haven't received a single response from anyone at Fortuna.. it's simply inexplicable.
I suspect they on the verge of bankruptcy and seeking a white knight to take over the company,..
I would caution sellers, buyer's and potential investors to avoid them till they come clean..
Sorry to post this but it would not be ethical for me to let others fall into the trap

I feel it important to inform my colleagues about an unfortunate situation I have experienced with Fortuna Auction House, located at ************************ In the beginning of our business dealings the owners, **** and ***** *****, were honoring our contract that states payment will be made 45 days after the conclusion of each ******** I have not been paid since November for the last 3 consigned sales.Items were sold and they were paid, but i never received any money.I know I am not the only dealer who has not been paid. They ignore my emails and continue holding auctions as if everything is ok.This is to let you know to proceed with caution. If you need more information or would like to act as a group. please feel free to contact me:Expressions by ***** ******************************************** *****
It is unfortunate that I have to leave this very negative review
I have been doing business with John and Maria Saxon of Fortuna Auction House for two years.
In the beginning they were honest and paid me as promised within 45 days after the sale.
Now, they have not paid me for consigned goods from the last three auctions .
They offer no explanation and continue to ignore my emails.
If you would like more information feel free to contact me.

Fortuna is the absolute worst auction house to deal with. I would caution anyone and everyone who is thinking about buying from Fortuna to rethink doing that. I purchased a large diamond from Fortuna and turned out to be nothing remotely close to what it was advertised as. I have gotten two separate appraisals from independent jewelers and both told me the diamond is not nearly the quality as promised by Fortuna. Fortuna sent a chipped diamond that I am unable to wear. After spending nearly 40K they have been dishonest in their business practices. I have made numerous attempts to reach out to the owner of this company only to be dismissed and ignored. They offer absolutely ZERO help. WHEN YOU FIRST SPEAK WITH THEM, THEY SEEM WONDERFUL BECAUSE THEY WANT YOUR BUSINESS. ONCE YOU GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY OR YOUR JEWELERY, THEY DON'T WANT TO ACKNOWLEDGE YOU ANYMORE. It would be my advice to steer clear of this auction house-they are not honest.

Fortuna is the most unprofessional auction house I have worked with. They keep my jewelry for months and never pay me money I am owed. There is something most strange about this business and I don't trust it.
I have made many calls asking for my payment for jewelry that has sold time and time again and all I hear is I will be paid but I never am paid.
Asmir Dzudza is a man who works there and he is so very impolite and extremely rude to me when I call and ask for what belongs to me. The owners have no interest in helping me to resolve my issue.
This business does not follow through with the contracts signed and they have little to no regard for their customers. They took my jewelry sold it and where is my money 4 months later? I have not seen it.
I do want to caution everyone who reads this to not do business with Fortuna Auction. It is all problems working with them. All stress and they only give excuses but never any help.
FOLLOW UP: Fortuna Auction has paid me in full after nearly 5 months. Not the 45 days promised in the signed contract. I am now being harassed and threatened with legal action by John Saxon, owner of Fortuna Auction because I wrote the truth about what happened to me. Bullying me in writing is absolutely horrible and this business should be avoided at all cost. I am not "defaming" Mr. Saxon. I am writing the truth about what happened to me while working with Fortuna Auction. I'm dismayed by the behavior of the owner of this company!
I have beenfollowing Fortuna for a few months now and I noticed that the prices are not auction prices. I have been buying at auction for over 25 years now. Their jewelry is priced just like a jewelry store charging retail prices. Auction prices are traditionally lower than retail price and I would suggest look at other auction houses who sell jewelry and watches and compare prices. The jewelry Fortuna is auctioning is not unique and it should not carry such a hefty price tag. I've found more reasonable prices for very similar jewelry and watches in retail locations. Something to think about before bidding on overpriced jewelry.
Do yourself a favor, compare Fortuna with other auctioneers. Bonhams, Phillips, Heritage, Doyle, Rago and others will offer reliable service. Fortuna has problems. Be careful if you are considering to consign your property. There are many better options. I have known Fortuna since 2017. I speak from personal experience with the current leaders. You are probably going to be disappointed if you choose to consign with Fortuna Auction.

At Fortuna, we fully support free speech and respect Mr. Callan’s right to share his views, even though we find his review to be clearly and intentionally misleading. Mr. Callan is a former employee, and in 2019, we parted ways due to his inability to perform in his role. Since then, Mr. Callan has had no involvement with Fortuna in any way, shape, or form. At no time has he been a client of Fortuna, nor has he experienced consigning with us. For these reasons, Mr. Callan’s review is, quite obviously, intentionally misleading, and we find it unfortunate that he chose to leave such feedback so many years later, seemingly unprompted and certainly without merit or validity.
We agree on one point: there are indeed other reputable auction houses. While we believe none of them serve the same niche with the focus and unique excellence that Fortuna provides, we have nothing negative to say about them. We encourage our consignors to explore alternatives, as we welcome competition and believe it strengthens a healthy free market. Fortuna is built on excellence, and our track record speaks for itself—our clients consistently experience exceptional results, as reflected in the multitude of genuine, positive reviews.
We’re not sure what prompted Mr. Callan to post this review so many years later, and we genuinely hope he finds more fulfilling ways to spend his time than leaving misleading reviews for former employers. While frustration may be apparent in our tone, we sincerely wish Mr. Callan nothing but the best and hope he can find closure, move forward, and find success in other pursuits. To our clients and potential consignors, we invite you to read the overwhelmingly positive reviews from those who have experienced our services firsthand. At Fortuna, we are committed to excellence, transparency, and the success of every client we serve.
