What a lovely time we had! The highlights were the mezcal old fashion, the crawfish toast, and the fried oysters. We really enjoyed the desserts as well. More than anything, I loved the service. Our waitress was so kind in celebrating our birthday. She had the voice of an angel when singing happy birthday. The music was awesome. Over all such a great night out in NYC.
The food was great — amazing seafood. However, the service / kitchen (while nice), was quite slow. We arrived right when the restaurant opened, but received our food ~30 minutes in. They also had a jazz trio for lunch, which was overall a fun touch. To note — the food was definitely on the pricier end.

I can't say enough good things about Filé Gumbo Bar! The gumbo is fantastic, with all the right spices. I also love how they serve it with a side of rice. The entire meal feels so comforting and satisfying.

As a first timer here, I will definitely come back! The service on the wall on was really warm and very nice. I came here for my birthday and I will come back again just for the French 75 ( I got mine with Cognac) my boyfriend got an ol fashioned and it's really good! With the oysters and the main food! It's Worth stopping by again!

Smelled delicious! Would have been nice to have even had a glass of water. 30 minute wait with no waiter or any attention. Placed a reservation somewhere else uptown. Persons to our left and right also experienced delays. Maybe a busy night but either way could have communicated that 🤷🏾♂️ they probably will still charge me for my "reservation" but lesson learned.
We walked into the restaurant without a reservation, and the staff kindly added us to the waiting list. About 25 minutes later, we were seated at the bar; the only two seats available at the time. Unfortunately, that’s where the experience took a turn. We waited over 35 minutes without being offered water or even acknowledged by any staff member. No one took our drink or appetizer order; it genuinely felt as if we were invisible in a crowded room.
My partner and I dine at many restaurants throughout NYC and were genuinely excited to try their famous gumbo, but the lack of service made the entire visit disappointing. We ended up leaving with a very poor impression. Sadly, this was a 0/10 experience.

We ordered the Crawfish Bread, po boy sandwich, jambalaya and a gumbo.
Everything was delicious.
Tthe portions were large and I highly recommend to share to get a taste of everything.
We finished the meal with a chocolate cake that was nice and goouie.
