Recumbent bicycle seat foam, perfectly cut to size and shape, all ready for pickup within 24 hours at a 1/7th of the cost of importing an original part. I went for a ride and the seat proved extremely comfortable. Thank you F.C.Hancox employees. For those recumbent enthusiasts out there, the foam was one inch thick calipore foam, medium density and suitable for marine furniture. Check out the F. C. Andrew, I was extremely helpful giving you advice on the thickness of headboards and the foam types that most upholsterers would use. You then questioned why it couldn't be thinner as the ones you already have are. To which I told you, you can have whatever thickness you want, but in the trade the minimum thickness is what I had already advised you.
There are no rules as to what foam or thickness you use for anything, and this is what I will tell anyone who rings up. I can tell you what most people have, and the suggested use for foam types, but the decision is always down to you.
We always strive for the best customer service, but this was hard to give as you didn't want to hear/couldn't comprehend what I was saying.

Very disappointed maybe ok for footstools and cushion but the chair insert i had after taking help from the chap was hardly any noticeable difference from the foam taken out of it. I should have done some research myself re quality of foam . Just thrown 30 pounds up in the air !!!!

Hi Gail, I am really disappointed with your feedback. After discussing this with you on the phone I thought you were going to come back in so we could look at different foam options and reuse this piece in another cushion? Where I would have then offered a discount as we don't like our customers being unhappy.
As you say you chose the foam from the samples you were shown, I do not think this justifies a negative 2 star review. Years of hard work have gone into building up our family run business, and reviews like this can do a lot of damage.
For anyone reading, if you come into our retail shop, we will show you samples, talk you through the foam types but it is always down to you to decide what foam you choose - we do not recommend, only suggest what foam types are commonly used for particular applications.

I am sorry you felt like this David. We always steer our local customers towards our website, as it saves a trip to our warehouse, plus gives you trade prices, rather than the retail price you would have paid if you were to visit the shop.

Excellent service and at a bargain price too. I will certainly return if I need some foam for furniture projects. Only took a couple of days to process my order. Please do not turn up at reception and expect them to cut to size there and then. They are a busy company.

Called in 17th May to enquire about having some small pieces of foam cut. Would have taken 10 minutes. Notice on the counter (IN BIG!) that it takes a fortnight! Chap in there was just off hand and unfriendly - we only wanted three bits of foam 2ft square. The cost was £37.00 so I would have thought in these times, they would have accommodated our request. Instead, we got a lousy attitude and were devoid of any pleasant customer service. Not the most welcoming encounter as we were made to feel a nuisance and left. They deserve this bad review.

Although I am disappointed to see your negative review, I must stress that myself and my customers will be pleased that you have not been allowed to 'jump' the queue when we are working non stop and they have been prepared to wait the 10 days. We are extremely busy and feel buy having the notice on the counter, customers are informed before making their order. We do not cut foam while you wait, as it is not just a 10 minute job, even in quieter times.
I do hope you were able to get your foam cut in the 10 minutes you expected, and wish you all the best.
