Colette was an absolute lifesaver when I embarked on the adventure of buying my first home, as a solo buyer. She’s sold homes to 3 of my cousins and they’ve all had amazing experiences working with her. Right off the bat, Colette sat me down and walked me through the entire home buying process, making sure I was totally prepped before we started house hunting. She was super transparent about each property we visited, always giving me the lowdown on whether it was a smart buy or not. When we finally found the place I loved, she went above and beyond—putting together a killer offer, negotiating like a champ, and smoothly dealing with the seller. She created a custom landing page for me that included a timeline to keep track of all major timelines and resource links that included contact info for an electrician, plumber, painter, just in case i needed their services in the future. During the escrow process, Colette was incredibly efficient, quickly scheduling all necessary inspections and connecting with the right people. She literally had 4 different inspections scheduled before I had the chance to ask about them! She even helped me start an application process for a PGE service upgrade. We managed to close in 20 days, and my home appraised $35K above what I paid! Before I received the keys to my house she arranged to have all little scuffs touched up, the house cleaned, she even took out the trash cans to make sure the house was move in ready. Colette is way more than just a real estate agent; she’s a fierce negotiator, an efficient project manager, and sometimes, she’s basically your therapist when the stress hits. Buying a home can really take you on an emotional rollercoaster, and I am so grateful to have had Colette by my side for this huge life moment. For anyone looking to buy in Oakland, I can’t recommend Colette enough. She truly is the Oakland Guru!

Colette took my call on the first ring out of the blue. I needed a fair market value report and rent estimate. She came out to the rental property within 2 hours and had the comprehensive report completed on the same day. Now here I am a year later needing a report and some professional advice. And just like always she responded right away and with great positive energy. I will call her first with any of my real estate needs. From the first time we spoke with Colette Washington, I knew she was the agent to represent my family to sell our family home in Piedmont. Pop moved to Oakland in 1951 and then to Piedmont in 1978 living there for more than 40 years. He used to say it was his last home, the one where he raised his kids into the strong, people-serving adults they have grown into today. After losing Pop in March 2020, we came to the time to pass our home onto a new family. Though they never met, Colette, through our sharing of Pop’s home, garden, and personality came to know him, respect his space, and honor him for the man he was and the home he created.
