Confused and Disorganized Company with a Fair Product Pros:Lots of friendly smart people. Cons:Poor Executive leadership and strategic planning. Quarterly pivoting to new strategy. Lack of control of product of product costs, making it difficult for partners to buy product. Most Bureaucratic company with which I have ever worked. They are more like a consulting company than a product company interested in generating revenue. Very difficult to get things done. Advice to Management:Make up your mind on a strategy and stick with it. Find a way to sell you core product to a larger marketplace. Every Lab company is competing for Payers, find new business to business market opportunities.

1 Star Only For Peers, few random Leaders Pros:Many individual contributors work their proverbial fingers to the bone far past their expected hours to support each other however they can. Cons:Many individual contributors instead treat each other like dirt and it is accepted by leadership and C Suite as just another fact of 'Start Up life' in a company that has no right still saying it is a start up. Benefits for a company in the health cate space LOOK good at first glance until you dig in and/or need more than minimal care. They claim to care about DEI but when someone has an issue that inconveniences them none of that matters. Taking advantage of the person next to you however possible is not just accepted, but encouraged by some leaders. Doesn't follow all applicable employment laws in all states where their employees reside. Layoffs are done with ZERO common sense, leaving crucial teams decimated, and destroying morale of many remaining team members if they have not just gine numb. HR regularly gaslights you, refuses to answer any questions you ask in writing so you have no paper trail for any important issues. Do yourself a favor- if you are applying and reading this, don't just think, oh, this is just one disgruntled former employee - that's what I did and it has set my professional career back years now and cost me tens of thousands of dollars, but because they are so good at not putting anything in writing I have little to no case. I was also massively lowballed ($ about $20k annually lower than the initial job listing) initial offer, but they knew I was stuck, so took advantage of me. Advice to Management:If you are stressed, don't take it out on your direct reports. It is not appropriate to ever accuse a direct report of lying unless you are having a formal call with HR. It is also never acceptable to cancel more than half if your 1:1s with direct report in any given month with a direct report.

Not valued or made to feel like a part of the team Pros:Remote work, growth of company expected Cons:Contract Nurses not valued, no an inclusive work culture. Contract nurses are always paid late and not respected as professionals. No cost of living increase and no opportunities for permanent employment. Advice to Management:Please show your contract Nurses the respect they deserve as nurses are the reason this companies new virtual programs are so successful!! No perks and consistently paid LATE! Refusal to hire nurses permanently is proof that they are not valued by admin.

Stressful, Micromanaging, Blame Game Culture - Run Forest Run Pros:Most of the people are respectful, knowledgeable and enjoyable to work with. Cons:Remote leaders leading larger on site teams creates confusion. Creates a “you do what I say” culture and a culture heavy (heaviest I’ve ever seen) in micromanagement. No trust in experts and team members leads to demotivation. Some executives still think Machiavellian leadership is popular and rudely bark orders from the safety of their at home offices - akin to internet trolls. Doesn’t work for a clinical laboratory setting AT ALL. Remote leaders gradually become out of touch with the reality of leading actual humans face to face. Unrealistic expectations with regards to overtime with many teams members having 20-30 hours PER WEEK of overtime during busy times. Incentives are given however time from the people that actually care about you can’t be bought back. Team is repeatedly asked to work overtime and due to unpredictable workload and shoddy forecasting, The schedule can change daily during peak business creating issues for those with obligations in their personal lives. Advice to Management:I don’t have any. They didn’t listen to me when I worked there I’m not sure why they would now, they already know everything.

Horrible customer service. They’ve had my samples for weeks and refuse to post the results even after I’ve emailed numerous times. They won’t refund me either. They first denied a sample from me with absolutely no reasoning then resent me out another box. Too late for me to track the part of my cycle I needed to so I had to wait for a whole other cycle to test. Sent my results in immediately and they’ve had them for weeks with no results posted. Will never use this company again.

Rearranging furniture on the Titanic Pros:The benefits here are great! Reasonably priced Cons:Everly Health has decided to abandon its core values and mission statement in recent years—it's not a healthcare company at all, but a techo and marketing company trying to play in the healthcare field. What this means practically is that advertising and design are prioritized while all the knowledgeable clinicians, laboratory professionals, and scientists are continually laid off with no backfill. 3 years ago, there was a thriving scientific and clinical organization that supported Everly and helped to drive it. Today, not a single team member exists for many of those departments: no Clinical Scientists, no Medical Science Liaisons, no researchers, no medical affairs team, no on-staff nurses. Products are ideated and launched by tech professionals with no expertise in healthcare, and these ideas are not steered by any sort of advisory board, since those were also deemed a waste of money. Many compliance personnel have also been driven away, and marketing and product teams operate on skeleton crews. Everly was started as a way to empower patients, and now it's a flailing cash grab with no interest in the patient other than their form of payment. The company culture is in tatters after round after round of layoffs, and most of the wonderful people who believed in the mission are gone. Advice to Management:MVP is not a valid strategy for quality healthcare, especially when those products and programs are barely viable in the first place.

I don't consider Everlywell a scam company but I won't do business with them again. Their website does not work with the Firefox browser, which makes their tests unusable. It's very odd that a company wouldn't support all major browsers.

The ship is sinking. It's time to jump Pros:The people you work with are great until you get to senior management. Basically everyone else who could be put on the chopping block is good people. When I wasn't fearing for my job, I was having a great time. My direct coworkers meant a lot to me, and I sincerely hope the best for them. Every several months, though, get ready to go through an emotional roller coaster! I guess one pro is that you'll have your sanity tested and that you'll find out how strong your mental health is. I gave work/life balance a 5. Can't lie about that, though I did spend a lot of my copious time away from work worrying about the longevity of my job. Cons:Julia Cheek is a walking red flag of a CEO. In my eyes, she has not taken any responsibility for any of the layoffs I've been through. Not once have I heard her say "This is my fault and I accept responsibility". So, layoffs. Layoffs, layoffs and more layoffs. If it isn't layoffs, they're asking people to come back to the office. Oh, you don't want to? You can opt-out! Opting out just means you're consenting to be laid off. So to many it just felt like a soft layoff. They've tried this twice. Locals have to be in the office 3 days a week now. For what? Culture? Sure, Jan. Several months ago, company meetings/Q&A sessions got rid of anonymized question submissions, which seem to have gotten rid of all of the negative questions they would get each time. Silencing your employees will do that, though. Everyone's already afraid to loose their job. Of course you're not going to get the same feedback when you force people out into the open. It really feels like there's no air left in the balloon. This place is falling flat. Advice to Management:If any are even left, get out of there.

Layoffs Pros:Decent health benefits and nothing else. Cons:The startup culture has been lost. There has been silent layoffs for the past 8 months and major layoffs in 2022, 2023 and now 2024. Stay away as this company is going to be sold and there is no culture. No other benefits, projects are not continuously shelves and lots of context switching, crunch time all the time. Advice to Management:Get your sh*t together.

"beatings" will continue until morale improves Pros:Lots of great people, decent benefits, and a willingness to try different technical solutions Cons:The company keeps building on broken solutions and processes that require ongoing heroics from staff to perform basic business functions, while making large investments that fail on new features with little analysis or planning. There are obvious internal salary inequities. Many executives are snide, sarcastic, and demeaning to other employees whose jobs they won't deign to understand. High pressure, unreasonable demands, and competing priorities from the leadership team contribute to high levels of stress among the rank and file. Restructuring and layoffs have happened on an ongoing basis since early 2023, with 3 large layoffs (10%+ each) and a lot of smaller stealth layoffs. Senior leadership struggles with consistency and execution, yet chronically ignores or rejects feedback from lower-level management and ICs. Advice to Management:Listen to all of your employees, not just the ones who tell you what you want to hear. Hire more ICs and decrease the bloat at the executive level. Don't tolerate arrogance and bullying, especially from executives. Own your mistakes and grow from them, don't look for someone else to pin the blame on. Remove "put people first" from your values if you can't extend that courtesy to your employees. Not all founders are good CEOs. You will drive your company into the ground if you continue using your employee base as the main lever to achieve profitability without holding executives responsible for unrealistic goals and poor execution.

Watch out for this company's deceptive "membership". The 45.00 fee for initial consultation seems reasonable, but after the consultation I decided I didn't want the drug and cancelled over the phone. The next month they billed me for $139.00 "membership." They denied that I had cancelled and refused cancel or refund. After multiple calls to foreign customer service reps The membership was cancelled. But denied any refund. Never got any product.

If you don’t like it, leave. Pros:Good benefits, unlimited PTO (if you can use it) Cons:Leadership is too top heavy and condescending, burn out is rampant, multiple reorganizations and lay offs. Advice to Management:Anonymous surveys were the only way to receive real feedback. Show your employees you value them in material ways. Pay attention to when top employees are burnt out and acknowledge that they deserve promotions too. Not just leadership.

Run, run, run as fast as you can. You’ll never catch me working there again Pros:Coworkers are great. The average employee is great. All people who mean well, want to help others succeed, and joined because they thought they were joining a company who cared. Benefits are good and include a mental health plan. Cons:Where to begin? Leaders who don’t know what they’re doing, and use endless corporate jargon to “answer” questions, even though they’re clearly avoiding the question or are simply in over their head. Out of nowhere, the company started making profitability seemingly the most important company goal, which resulted in numerous incredibly talented people and entire teams getting laid off throughout the year. Laying people off doesn’t solve the problem of not being able to make a profit- it just makes your books look better for investors. Some leaders are just straight up rude or ignore you when you ask them to do something that’s part of their job. Countless people are choosing to leave because they’re fed up with the shady return to office policy, lack of accountability from leadership, and overall lack of progress. Avoid at all costs. Advice to Management:Cut the corporate jargon and scripted answers. Tell the people what’s really going on, and be honest with why you’re making certain decisions.
