I have had 2 instances where I got duped by vendors with very cockeyed approach to making profit at customer cost. First time was when the print of my $30 t-shirt got washed in the first instance. The vendor an immature person spoke in a kid's parlance was literally idiotic. Second I bought a bedside tray after sharing photos of my bed, the vendor a new irresponsible vendor refused to fix anything. I reached Etsy but no help rendered. They take no accountability. DO NOT USE THIS ENGINE.

Wonderful! Pros:Place you can grow and enhance customer service skills. Cons:I’d enjoyed my experience at Etsy.

Not very impressed. Bought an item in may, took the seller a whole month to ship out, especially after paying for the shipping. Then the item gets stuck at the post office due to requiring a signature, so despite paying 13 for shipping I have to rely on the post office to deliver which aren't that great in my area. Ultimately if you're going to make someone wait months to receive an item, and then force them to require a signature you can just keep the item at that point. Don't charge shipping if you're going to inconvenience your consumers, unproductive shipping methods turn your consumers away. Don't charge shipping and then require a signature because people have things going on in their lives, and don't have time to sit at the front door for five hours.

Not a wise employment decision Pros:Kind people overall who care about the work they produce and those they work with. Empathy is a strong quality across employees at Etsy. Cons:Poor leadership - young inexperienced ICs are often promoted into leadership roles for which they are not qualified. Growth is very limited under weak leadership. Poor decision making - decisions take a long time to be made and communication of changes is weak. There is often confusion around proper process or a backpedaling of the decision. Overall, a lack of qualified and competent leaderships has created a culture of “personality hires” that stunts real progress and the growth of hungry, motivated employees. Layoffs due to poor company performance and dwindling sales revenue Advice to Management:Hire qualified leadership. Internal mobility is important but it should not be at the detriment of team success. You shouldn’t be hiring for potential. This has led to weak morale and overall a different Etsy than the company once was. I’m sad to say the future is not bright.

Toxic Pros:Some of the best people you’ll ever meet. The trauma bonds will keep you friends for life. Benefits are great but will keep you in a golden cuff situation for years past when it’s clearly time to leave for your mental health. Cons:The most toxic environment i’ve ever seen in decades of working corporate. It’s game of thrones level politics behind the scenes. Upper Management is terrible and feeds into it all.

I recently bought a blouse from CNR Boutique store in Etsy, they sent the wrong size and when I reached out to the vendor he did not do anything to fix the problem. I am stuck with a blouse that don't fit and I tried Etsy customer service and that is the worst, they don't answer phone calls and you cannot reach them on the website. This site is ripping off customers and nobody takes responsibility. This is the worst site ever, I will never buy from Etsy again. Somebody please do something about it or this people are going to keep ripping off customers and get away with it. I'm really disgusted, I reached out to my credit card to get a refund and the vendor have not answered to the bank either. I'm absolutely disgusted with Etsy.

Etsy customer service is the ABSOLUTE WORST I have ever experienced. It is impossible to even navigate a way to get any help at all. Once one tries to contact support you are just sent to the original page you started on! As a new seller Etsy determined on my page that it would take me 30 days to answer a question! They are setting me up to fail. After being a seller, I do not want to purchase on Etsy any more. They are no longer what they set out to be. So much crap and junk on the site. Very Sad.

ZERO seller support! For more than a year, 100% of my customers have been unable to complete the checkout process. I have contacted Etsy more than 75 times and received ZERO support. I even resorted to contacting Etsy employees on Linked-In (no response), and I mailed a 7ft pop-up banner to their headquarters in NY. Without doubt, this has been the worst customer experience of my lifetime.

As a seller on Etsy. I had nothing but problems. 1. Within my first month of opening my 3D print shop on Etsy, they had suspended my account. I submitted my appeal and they reversed the suspension stating that it was in error. 2. Over the course the next year, my shop grew and listings would get sporadically deactivated by ETSY for violating their terms of service, yet other shops were selling the same exact items. I relisted them and had no issues selling those items. 3. A customer had requested a 3d print from the designer OXO3D, known for their lewd prints. I researched and ensured that it was allowed on Etsy. There are several dozen stores that have their listings on their page. I posted mine and I got banned within 2 hours. My appeal got shutdown stating due to my previous account history. My account history, mentioned above, was the suspension in error and the take downs that were not legitimate and didn't violated Etsy's TOS. My shop had 800 reviews with a 5 star average rating and over 2100 sales. I had been STAR seller all except during the probationary period. My other issues with Etsy is that they fee you to death. In order to get visibility on their SEOs to start off, you need to pay for marketing. You are LUCKY to break even and do free work for your customers because between Etsy's listing fees, cut they take from your shop, transaction fees, shipping fees (on top of the cost of the label), and the list goes on. You are charged almost $5-6 dollars on a $10.00 item and after paying for marketing, you have a net gain of 0. My recommendation is open your shop elsewhere. It takes more time to build your own empire, but at least you'll have control over it.

I tried to open a shop; they immediately suspended my account because my cellphone is too old to use a QR code to verify my identity. Been waiting almost 3 months for a response to my appeal and can't close my account because of the dollar I owe for a store they never let me open. I will not use Etsy again.

Not for Minorities Pros:Good benefits. Salary is better but not top range. Some good co-workers who know who to do their job Cons:Some juvenile managers are hiring to get promoted. They use shady tactics saying a senior is the manager you will be reporting to and later move you to a 20 yr old manager who know nothing about leadership. If it was disclosed during interview you will most likely will not join. My manager hired me with the intent to fire me after getting a promotion since she had no knowledge of the department she was managing. Pure lack of accountability for leadership failures and someone is made a scapegoat. I have been tracking my past team and have been in contact with them till today. The team has a revolving door for product managers, mainly due to my juvenile manager who know nothing. There more talk than actual work and always trying to make friends to keep ones job than actually doing the job. I was pushed to a point where I felt I am not performing well and my next company I got an excellence award in the first 6 months. I am so happy now and has a different perspective about the managers. I am very careful to assess the skill of the manager before I apply to the new positions. It is true that your under performance or lower performance in many situations is a reflection of your boss than you. It is very Hippocratic for a company like Etsy to state they are all in for supporting minorities, but it's essentially a white company where they want to show diversity in numbers but actually want minorities to do major work without promotions. Advice to Management:Stop promoting juvenile people into leadership positions. Also, the person who talks most does not necessarily have leadership skills.

Hacked and lost money I was hacked here by Russian hackers. I had to shut down my bank account and find another bank. When trying to close and delete this account they say I owe them money. OMG. I lost $300.00 as a result of being hacked here and it's virtually impossible to get an answer. They are still trying to get into my account because they say I owe them $15.00. Unbelievable corrupt do not open an account on Etsy.com. You will be hacked with all kinds of false communications in your inbox trying to get you to click and open your bank accounts

I ordered a watch. I received an email with the photo of a box in front of my house. The email relayed the product was signed for. My wife and I were at home all day long. No one knocked at the door let alone SIGN for it as the email stated. I suspect (but not sure) the carrier stole the box (why would else he/she not even bother to knock). Now I have to open a claim with the carrier (not ETSY) and be at their mercy (not to mention time lost and no product). SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. BUY SOMEWHERE ELSE. I usually shop with Amazon. And while they can be a little more expensive than other places, so far they have resolved ALL my issues. I have been doing business with them for over five years now and order stuff about once a week. I am not affiliated with Amazon in any way. In addition, Walmart and Target have been good for me with respect to online shopping. Home Depot and Costco (my experience only) terrible with online buying. Hope this helps.
