Economhy Rent A Car is a Nightmare, Run away Economy Rent a Car is a nightmare. You are advised to avoid them. We booked a car from economy car rental in Larnaca for two weeks via Expedia. The Expedia website said there was an Economy Kiosk at Larcana airport and this was part of the reason we booked them. First lie: There is no Economy kiosk at the airport, it does not exist, and apparently has never existed. Instead they send a guy to meet you. Our plane was delayed so we attempted to contact them even though I thought there was a kiosk at the airport. For Economy Expedia supplied four phone numbers. One in the USA - they could not help us. One in Costa Rica - they could not help us. Two numbers for Cyprus - using our USA phone from where our flight was delayed we get the message "Calls are blocked to this number due to high fraudulent activity". The Cyprus numbers are the same as on the Economy website. Lie #2: the phone numbers supplied are not useful.. On the Economy website they list a watsapp line for prompt service. We text a Watsapp message we would be delayed. We arrived later in Larnaca and there is no kiosk, no person, no car, and no keys. We could not get a Cyprus SIM for the phone at the airport. Lie #3: They responded by Watsapp two days later that the reservation was cancelled. Despite in their contract Economy says you can not return the car early because that time is dedicated to the customer, and we still had two weeks of the rental booked and paid for, the car was not available. Lie #4 They kept the full two weeks rental fee and would not supply a car despite the end of the rental period was two weeks into the future. On complaining to Expedia they were able to recover all except $75 from Economy Rent a Car. Bottom line this company is highly dishonest, uses false advertising, steals money from you, and I do not recommend this company. If you see the Economy sign on your choice with Expedia I recommend you do not book through Expedia, and at your risk try try to book directly with Economy on their website however given their extremely poor service in Cyprus you do so at your own risk.

I’ve had many rental car experiences, but this one truly stands out as the best. Here’s a brief overview of my experience:

The journey began when I called them directly to arrange for a car. A key tip: Call them directly and provide your driving license, passport, and flight details. The staff handles everything for you seamlessly. They’ll deliver the car to the airport upon your arrival and collect it when you depart—an incredibly smooth process. All the paperwork is handled in advance, making the experience hassle-free. Another pro tip: consider paying in cash. The car is thoroughly inspected when you receive it and again when you return it, all done on the spot.

If I could give a 10 out of 5, I would, but unfortunately, Google doesn't allow it!

Cyprus boasts some of the warmest, most welcoming people I've ever met. Everyone we encountered was cheerful, helpful, and eager to assist at every step. We felt extremely safe and were filled with excitement to explore more of the country.

A couple of additional recommendations: Larnaca is also a wonderful place to watch the sunrise, brightening your day from the very start. Don’t miss the chance to try Carob syrup in Cyprus, and be sure to visit Loulla's Halloumi Making. Not only will you enjoy a peaceful moment with your spouse, but the host offers a grandmotherly welcome, and you’ll taste the most authentic halloumi cheese ever. Limassol is perfect for wandering around, as it dazzles with its vibrant city center and offers a magical bath in the moonlight, accompanied by the twinkling city lights. Paphos is a must-visit for the Tombs of the Kings and for tasting the finest Carob syrup at Carob King-Black Gold. Lastly, don't miss the opportunity to take a stroll through the Akamas National Forest Park. It’s the perfect way to say goodbye to Cyprus, with a breathtaking two-hour walk along the cliffs, culminating in a stunning sunset at the edge of the country.

A wonderful experience. We received a very good car, for little money. The service was excelent. An very nice employee brought us the car to the airport and we finished very quickly with the papers. We payed him cash, both the price of the hiring and the deposit. The same guy came to the airport to get the car when we wanted to return it and he gave us the deposit back (cash). Everything went smoothly. I recommed!

We got more than expected. I was greeted by a person right in the airport, he took us directly to the car, helped with luggage, helped us with the safety seats for the kids. Once we were good to go, he sent us on our way. Same on the return. We arrived to the arrival platform where we were greeted by an employee, he helped unload the car, checked that everything was in order, that nothing was forgotten and took the car. WAY easier than what I usually deal with. The car wasn't new, nor in mint condition. But it was also cheap and really spacious. So all in all, we were very happy with the service.

Had a great experience with Economy! Mario and his team were extremely responsive, communicative, and helpful, both before our rental and during when we had questions. He offered great rental options based on our needs and provided all the necessary information pertaining to each option to aid us in making our selection. Prices were fair for the options and service provided. The pickup and drop-off processes were quick and painless. The car and car seats were perfect for what we needed. The car was new, clean, and in great condition, drove well, and got us around reliably and without issue. Will definitely be using Economy again for future visits.

Don't do business with this company. They chased me all the way to my place of stay, took back the cars I rented in the middle of my family vacation and didn't gave me a full refund. I should have known it from the beginning when the car I booked was not the cars I got at the airport (they had many excuses for it but in the end i didn't get what I ordered). If you want good service don't do business with them. If you want to be left without a car go ahead and give them your money.

DO NOT USE THEM. THEY’RE A SCAM. They claim to be at the airport terminal when in fact they are not. Only Avis and Budget are. They did not give us the car class we ordered, we had to scramble and get a taxi for our luggage and even though the rental was paid for online many months in advance they charged us again for it by deducting the amount from the security deposit. The owner responded and blocked me from responding to him. He claims they’re not the same rental company, they are owned by Limanis group look at their contracts or Google them. They’re a complete scam. Owner claims they’re in the airport, they are NOT. They send a bunch of guys with their cars to meet you and coerce you into a deal. DO NOT USE THEM THEY ARE A COMPLETE SCAM.
