Today I collected my first ever professionally quilted quilt and any quilts I make in the future will most definitely be entrusted to the lovely people at Eclectic Maker. I dropped the patchwork off a couple of weeks ago and the service I had was amazing, talking me through every aspect of the process from choosing wadding, backing, thread colour and the stitch design. I knew my quilt was in good hands 😀 Picking it up today I could not have been happier with the result, it's simply stunning. I cant stop looking at it. I opted to have the binding stitched to the front so I can finish it off by hand. Once that's done I cant wait to have my beautiful quilt in pride of place on my bed. I thoroughly recommend taking your quilt here, you won't be disappointed.

A delightful small shop with a huge range of beautiful, modern fabrics and a good range of machines - but that is not all Eclectic Maker offers! I attended a class and, unlike classes I have attended elsewhere, we were not just instructed how to make our project but why things needed to be done in a particular manner, how to avoid hiccups (and cure them if they happened) and with full confidence that we were now armed with the necessary skills to make more of the same at home. Jo is an excellent teacher. I have already planned to do more classes with her.

This morning I had a 2 hour "get to know my overlocker" 1 to 1 session with Jo. Well, what a relvelation! Jo is a font of all knowledge. She is kind, patient, extremely good at explaining fabric types and how the overlocker behaves with each one. If you are someone who owns an ocerlocker but is pretty worried about trying things with it Jo is your answer! I wish I'd had a day with her, I learnt so much in 2 hours I wish I'd booked it months ago! S brilliant service thank you

Very friendly helpful staff. I needed some help with how much fabric I need to make an item, I was helped with this and so much more, with advice about thread, machine sewing Needle and stitch type, short of making the skirt for me they couldn’t have been more helpful, even chasing after me out of the shop with one more gem of advice. Buying a new sewing machine. Very helpful and good advice to ensure we got the correct machine. No pressure to get more expensive machine especially as it would have features wouldn't need. Great range of fabrics as well
