After years of excellent produce, disappointed to be sold a bag of mussels that were 5 days old (as per the date on the label), over half the bag dead and a foul smell when cooking. So went straight in the bin. Crab claws, langoustines and Scallops were delicious but the full experience let down by the mussels.

bought various fish today, 4/9/23 the heat was 27°c, in conversation the assistant offered to wrap the fish with ice because she knew we were travelling back to Ponteland ,, fantastic service lovely helpful assistant . it worked still icy and fresh a few hours later, thank you

Bought haddock which was very nice. When buying, asked the assistant to dress the fish but was told she could not do that for health and safety reasons. But she was prepared to sell me fish dressing. Curious, never experienced that anywhere before? I wonder what the H&S issue was or just a way to sell fish dressing?

Ordered online, delivered to London. The Langoustines were creamy, rich, and so sweet. Totally different from anything we have had in London. Surprisingly even better than the ones we had in Outer Hebrides. Maybe something to do with cold water of North sea. We have received 15 good sized live ones for under £30, simply boiled in the salted water for 3 mins. Also ordered was cooked crabs. They are only £4 each. Even paying £10 for the delivery, it is great value for money. Highly recommended.
