Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry that you were not happy with the service that you received. Despite my best efforts, I feel that you were unable to understand the concepts of counter conditioning training techniques and how they should be used to modify your dog’s aggressive behaviour. Thanks to your occupation as a Sports Massage Therapist, you had recognised that there were physical issues with your dog but you did not seem to accept the highly likely link between underlying pain and Maisie’s aggressive behaviour. As I explained in detail, you were unlikely to make much progress without investigating and subsequently dealing with her obvious health problems. My strong advice to you was that you manage your dog’s environment. I urged you to reconsider your habit of allowing a dog with a proven bite history to be in the room with your clients when they visit your home. You commented that you allowed your dog to lie on the bed with them. I consider this highly unsafe. I also consider it unsafe to allow your dog off lead in public areas when you know that there is a considerable chance that she may injure an adult or a child. You are mistaken in your belief that I have reported you to the Police. I merely pointed out to you that, should Maisie bite someone, as she has several times in the past, you are likely to be subject to action by the Police under Section 3 of the Dangerous Dogs Act. “Having a dog dangerously out of control” is a criminal offence. Sadly, I feel that, under your care and in the situations that you place her in, Maisie’s behaviour will escalate and that she will not improve despite the input of various canine professionals.
