Hi Sambo - We're sorry you felt Emily was rude in asking you to wait while she showed another prospective tenant the property, however in fairness they were booked before you and you did turn up early!

Helen and the team were amazing selling my mother’s house after she passed. Chased the solicitors up without having to be asked.

Cannot fault the service we received when we sold our property and purchased our new home through DC Lane. Helen was amazing from start to finish. She sold our house with 24 hours and helped us find our forever home. Also need to give a big shout out to Oscar who chased solicitors relentlessly. We’re not planning on moving again for a long time but if we were to do so we would only use DC Lane.

We approached all the leading estate agents in the local area with some trepidation as we were concerned as to how well our house would sell. The house was a lot larger than most which narrowed our potential market. The agents all gave their fair professional assessments but they lacked something which left us feeling anxious at being able to sell our home in a difficult market and at a higher selling price. And then we met Helen! She oozed genuine enthusiasm and drive which totally overshadowed her competitors. Her professionalism and passion shone immediately. She made us feel that we were more than just another client for her company, inspiring confidence about the whole procedure and eventual outcome for us- and she delivered just as she said she would! I cannot speak highly enough of DC Lane. We were amazed when we sold our house within 24 hours of putting it on the market but having seen Helen in action in the house we ultimately bought through them I am not surprised! This woman knows how to sell houses! Everyone was friendly and kept us fully informed from start to finish. We have been landlords in Plymouth for more than 30 years but its our time to get out of this market. I first dealt with Helen Somauroo from DC Lane last year 2024 when we put a Peverell house on the market. I liked her enthusiasm and she was the only agent of the three we contacted who actually pointed out that the house we were intending to sell was three double bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The house went live and we received two offers for the full asking price on the first day. Helen and her team were constantly on our case, in our corner, throughout the sale process, liaising with the two conveyancing teams involved with the sale. Needless to say the sale progressed smoothly all within ten weeks. We put a second Peverell house on the market in July 2025. It took ten days for an acceptable offer to be presented (Within 1% of their valuation) and ten weeks from offer to completion.

Great service by DC Lane and particularly Helen
First interaction with DC Lane was when Helen managed to find us, an almost impossible in Plymouth, 6 months furnished rental.
The flat was very nice in a great location.
The one maintenance issue was quickly dealt with.
After a great deal of viewing many properties with various estate agents Helen, who always said she was determined to find us a property, from nowhere found us a perfect house which I am clad to say we now own.

DC Lane were absolutely fantastic when I sold my flat through them. Helen in particular was always on the ball and I felt very confident from the get go that I'd made the right decision to sell through them. While the process took a little longer than anticipated (due to solicitors) Helen was always on the case helping to keep things moving.

If I could give zero stars, I would.
My experience with DC Lane was deeply disappointing from day one. The property was in poor condition — paint peeling off the walls, furniture falling apart, and a general sense of neglect. Communication was consistently dreadful: emails were ignored for weeks, and during actual emergencies, the admin team was not only unavailable but openly rude. One staff member even hung up the phone and refused to attend the issue in person, showing a complete lack of concern.
The worst part came after the tenancy ended. My deposit was held hostage for months, and £200 was deducted for a so-called “luxury cleaning service,” despite the official cleaning report confirming the flat was left in good, clean condition. This felt like an unjustified and opportunistic charge.
I strongly urge prospective tenants to think twice before renting through DC Lane. The lack of professionalism, transparency, and basic respect for tenants made this one of the most frustrating rental experiences I’ve ever had.

We are sorry you weren't happy with the service provided during your tenancy - I have looked through the files and cant see any records of reported service relates issues until the checkout. Your review follows a trend; where we receive excellent feedback in general - with one exception; that is the small cohort of tenants who have had deductions claimed from the security deposit for damage or cleaning at end of tenancy.
The checkout report did not record the property as clean, and you had every opportunity to dispute the claim using a third party adjudicator - The onus of proof is on the Landlord/agent to justify any charges, so we will only make a claim where the evidence is very strong - I assume you chose not to dispute the charge as you didn't feel you would be successful?
We looked at your profile on Google and noticed that your last review of a letting agent follows the trend - they appear to have had to clear up after you too!
The vast majority of lovely tenants who we work with leave property as found in the inventory, and no charges are needed to be claimed. We hope at some stage in the future you do leave a property as you found it and perhaps your view of the agent involved will be more positive!

DC Lane were absolutely amazing for buying my first home!
So very accommodating with booking viewings and once the house was agreed they really went the extra mile with everything!
As I wasn’t living locally they were fab at keeping us updated, keeping the chain moving and making moving in that bit easier.
With giving us plenty of needed advice, answering our probably multitude of phone calls with friendly customer service and great responses !
