Top ! Super !

Been unable to contact them for two months! Back in January I booked a tour with Day Tours Unplugged for November. But due to Covid 19, it became clear that we would not be able to go to Ireland and go on this tour. I have been trying to contact them about my booking since September, but there has been no reply to any of my messages, on any of the contact platforms they offer. I understand that this is a difficult time for small businesses, but the least they could have done was answer my questions. Terrible customer service, and I would definitely not recommend Day Tours Unplugged, unless you're okay with losing your money if the tour gets cancelled.

Unable to take trip due to COVID-19 I booked a tour to Newgrange with Damien for March 22, 2020. Nobody knew at the time much about the COVID-19 virus or its impact on tours. However, here is my issue: I contacted Famine twice, once by email and once by phone (12 days before tour set to depart) to enquire if the tour was still operating or not. At my phone call, Damien confirmed the tour was not operating as the Heritage site was closed due to the COVID-19 restrictions. Why did not email me himself to inform of cancellation? 2 emails later, from me, regarding a refund were ignored. I have not heard from the company since the phone call, nor received any refund or any other offer or information. I understand times are difficult. It is not the refund that concerns me as much as the lack of professionalism or courtesy to a client. If the manager of the company experienced illness, or some other troubles and was not able to help me, then please accept my apologies for this negative review Fiona (from Vancouver, Canada)

An excellent day out from Dublin, being expertly guided by Martin around Newgrange, Monasterboice and the Hill of Tara. We travelled in a modern comfortable minibus driven well by expert guide Martin. The trip was informative, interesting and varied. Martin guided us around the sites as required. Newgrange was done by on site guides, and we had ample time to see the newly restored visitors centre there. Plenty time for coffees and food at Tara and Newgrange as well. All in all, a relaxing and stimulating day out from Dublin. Stout footwear is useful, binoculars as well as the views can be spectacular.

Newgrange and Hill of Tara tour We took this tour from Dublin. It was very interesting and our tour guide was excellent. We visited Newgrange first. We then went to Monasterboice monastic site. Our guide gave us a very nice tour. We then stopped for lunch in Slane and finished at the Hill of Tara. Our guide gave us an introductory twenty minute tour and then we had about an hour and a half to explore and visit the shop or have a snack.

A-MAZ-ING TOUR / GREAT VALUE / HIGHLY KNOWLEDGEABLE GUIDE We went on the Full Day to Newgrange and Tara Hills. Our pickup was right on schedule I am disabled and Martin (our tour guide for the day) was so helpful and supportive in getting on and off the small bus which carried 12 people. Martin was really enthusiastic highly knowledgeable and talked about some of the attractions we passed on our drive out of Dublin over a microphone so all could hear him. When we got to the motorway he said that he wouldnt speak over the microphone but if anyone wanted to ask any questions he would be happy to answer them - this was due to the tour being quite an early start after a night on the Guinness!! First stop - Newgrange UN-BE-LEAVE-ABLE and BREATHTAKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We had a lot of time at Newgrange - Martin organised all of our tickets into the passage tomb and we had ample time to have a coffee and read some of the information on the walls about the area etc. We then set off on another bus for a short drive from the visitors centre to the passage tomb. We were then divided into two groups (identified by coloured sticker on our tickets) - we were in the first group. Inside was mind blowing - I wont spoil it here!!!!! Afterwards (approx 10-15mins) we had ample time to walk around the passage tomb and take lots of photos before getting the bus back to he visitor centre We then had ample time to walk through the visitor centres main exhibit which was really interesting - I would recommend visitng the exhibit after your visit to the tombs as it helps digest the information given by the very knowledgeable Newgrange Guide. Back on the bus - time to relax or ask questions to Martin Our next stop was Monasterbrice (unsure of spelling) and this time Martin was our expert guide. He explained all about the High Kings Crosses and what Monasterbrice was used for in its day. Ample time to look around Back on the bus and as we were ahead of schedule (without being rushed) we had a quick photo stop at Slaine Castle which is not stated on the itinerary. Martin explained what Slaine Castle was used for, who owns it know and other really interesting information. On route we passed the Battle of the Boyne where Martin again gave an insight on what happened and the reason for the battle. We arrived at the Hills of Tara and Martin explained that he would be giving a short walking tour which was optional - we decided to take his offer up and were really pleased to do so. Martin explained what the Hill of Tara was used for and told us of the "magic" of the hills as well. Plenty of time to walk around - very muddy - and take photos. Back on the bus again to head back to Dublin. So very impressed with the bus which was really clean and comfortable, Martins knowledge, passion and friendliness - service impeccable! We would definitely go on another tour with Day Tours Unplugged without hesitation!!! BRILL- I - ANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Day in the woods I say day, though we were mere 5 hours away. It is no long trip, good for the afternoon or morning program and Damian and his tour with all the stories and advices was just wonderful. I can advise to everyone visiting Dublin on short time to take this tour, if not for the adventurous nature then for Damians knowledge abt live in Ireland and general!

Trip to Newgrange, Monasterboice and Hill of Tara We had a wonderful experience with the Get your Guide -Damian. Our tour to Newgrange, Monasterboice and Hill of Tara was a beautiful and powerful experience. Damian provided a tremendous insight to the history of Dublin along with great humour and great suggestions on other places to visit. His recommendation for a drink at Kavanagh’s Gravediggers Pub behind Glasnevin Cemetery was a great way to end our visit to Dublin. We would definitely take another tour with him and use Get Your Guide services on our next trip.

Boyne Valley Tour We thoroughly enjoyed the tour. It was a highlight of our trip to Ireland. We also really appreciated the information Damian provided on various aspects of Ireland’s history especially relevant to the Boyne valley, overview of the agriculture, and other aspects of current life and culture of Ireland in response to questions that were posed to him. We would highly recommend this tour and Damian as a guide for this tour.

Newgrange Tour We had a wonderful day exploring New Grange, Hill of Tara and Monasterboice, ably guided by Damian. He brought the history of the places alive for us, interlacing history and myth and humour, and leaving us lots of time to explore the places on our own. It was a delight to be in the company of an intimate group encountering Ireland's past in this way. Highly recommended.

Newgrange Tour Excellent small group tour- highly recommend. We were met timely by the driver/guide - Martin. We departed a little late, because the other party in our group had not arrived. I was so impressed that Martin and the owner reached out to the missing party to find out why they weren't at the pickup spot, and found out they had missed their train into town. Good to know if you are lost/close, you won't get left. We ended up with just my husband and I on the tour. Martin took care of everything. We headed to Newgrange and were given our tickets and directed to the entrance. We had plenty of time at Newgrange and stopped for lunch in another town on the way to the Hill of Tara. Martin walked with us up to the hill telling us the history. We then had plenty of time to explore the area and the gift shop. You couldn't ask for a better guide than Martin. We really enjoyed the entire day. Many thanks to Martin and the company.

Newgrange The owner/tour guide could not stop talking about everything but the places on the tour. He constantly broached controversial and irrelevant topics including immigration, drugs, abortion, homosexuality, race relations, etc. He seemed to be carrying on a conversation with himself on a range of social and political issues not realizing that we were not part of his internal dialogue or cared. His one way conversation was non-stop and not appropriate. Very little was said about the historical facts of the visited places.
