We went to craft for my sister's birthday and everyone was so gracious and welcoming. Our server Jose was so amazing and made our night even more special! Tianna Newkirk the manager was so gracious and generous she topped off what was already an amazing night and made it even better. If you get a chance to go to craft you will not be disappointed!
We celebrated our mother’s milestone birthday in the city over the weekend and spent an evening at Craft. I knew the food would be fantastic, but I can not say enough about the wonderful experience the team created for her. Just so above and beyond in every way. Thank you for helping us celebrate her in style! Highly recommend!!
Honestly this is the worst craft I've ever been to. Food took 45 minutes and was cold. I tried to send my steak back to the kitchen and the chef actually came out and told me that it was perfect and refused to make me another. This is nothing like Craft in Lynbrook, which is my favorite restaurant. Does not live up to the Craft name. They should be forced to change their name. They should name this place Craft P.U. BLEGH!!!!!
Craft has built a reputation on simple, well-executed food, but a recent visit suggests the kitchen might be relying too heavily on past successes. The atmosphere remains elegant, but the cooking style feels dated, a testament to an era where richness was the only measure of quality. The potato leek soup with saffron, made vegetarian for me, suffers from over-reliance on traditional heavy ingredients, like cream and butter, overwhelming the core ingredients rather than enhancing them.
The pumpkin agnolotti arrived swimming in butter, the natural flavors of the produce lost beneath a film of butter broth and a heavy hand with the salt cellar. It was uninspired and left a lingering sense of heaviness. While sides like cauliflower and potato puree were tasty (but extremely salty), they failed to offer the lightness or acidity needed to balance the richness of the entrees.
In an age where contemporary cuisine emphasizes balance, lightness, and the true flavor of seasonal ingredients, Craft’s approach feels like a relic. It’s certainly filling, but it lacks the excitement and thoughtful composition found in many of its contemporaries. The dining experience is comfortable and the service professional, but if you're looking for innovative, vibrant food that transcends the simple luxury of fat and salt, Craft might disappoint. It's perfectly fine dining for those who prefer their culinary clock set to a bygone era.
Went for a friends birthday. Staff was nice enough but it felt like it took a while for them to actually take our order for the amount of staff running around doing things. Food was good but small portions for the price, it’s definitely the type of place you go for special occasions only and with your older family…I wouldn’t say it’s the hippest menu. My duck dish was solid, it didn’t come very warm though. Overall I’d maybe come back & it’s worth a try.
