Spring 2024 HR Internship I interned at Compass for the Spring 2024 semester. During my time there I learned the ins and outs of the recruitment process, which was a rewarding experience to be on the other side of it! I also had the opportunity to put together a New Hire Kit as well as work on distributing employment workplace posters and further develop my knowledge on employment law practices. Overall, I feel my experience at Compass has helped me gain valuable insight into the many facets of HR and would recommend the opportunity to any student looking to get their start in HR.

IN DEPTH the meeting and the many reports were very in depth, the company takes the time to review all parts of the report and explain the meanings as well as how it correlates and effects a person and their work, what work best suites them, etc the meeting and reports also show challenges one may face and how to grow. It was so spot on!

Underperforming new hire

HR Coaching Sessions Carrie has been extremely helpful during my manager coaching sessions. There have been several situations over the past few months that were tricky to navigate to say the least. Her depth of HR experience gave me some great insights in handling these situations and have helped add a few more tools to my management tool box. Carrie is also very organized, which has made these sessions even more effective. We have a running list of things to discuss, adding a few new items as we close out others. I have enjoyed with working Carrie overall and look forward to future coaching sessions.

Exceptional Recently I had to make two hires in what is a very competitive environment to hire. The Compass team was great from start to finish! In particular I found both Lauren & Marie to be extremely responsive throughout the entire process. The time I saved to have a trained team screen the resumes, do the phone screens, and then have the potential candidates complete the PI assessment was invaluable, I could not have done this on my own. I am happy to say that I have two great team members, who are helping with needed productivity! Thank you to Marie & Lauren!

Employee retention is an essential part of operating a successful business and the concepts and strategies laid out today are integral in ensuring that occurs.

Informative and concise I thought this session was great.

Informative As someone new to interviewing others, the i information was presented clearly and was helpful in building interview skills. The break out room was very awkward and felt “sprung upon” - additionally, I was doing the training with my team members in person and we were all put into different virtual rooms while in the same physical room, which was tricky and might have been more beneficial for us to have discussed as a team.

Art of Interviewing Great session about the Art of Interviewing. I truly enjoyed the breakout room format. A great way to connect with other HR professionals.

Enjoyed I appreciated the webinar. There were several of us in the same room, though logged in separately. It was all good information that will help us. It would have been helpful for us to have been in the same breakout room for the discussion as it was difficult for us to each have our mics on.
