Additionally, from the same City Car Rental, you can buy tickets to various parks at a better price than what they offer directly from these attractions for Xel-Ha or any other nearby attractions in order not only to save money. They are the best! I got my van, even though it took a few days. The staff changed depending on what day you came in but they were all attentive and flexible with their services for me-even if that meant returning some deposit money back onto my card once things had been taken care of at HQ (which is why i didn't need any assistance). Rates can be seen online before making your reservation; there's also several promotions going directly through this branch alone so check them out today!. As long as gas Levels remain equal between rental periods then returns should go smoothly too.

The cars are in perfect condition, the price was fair. An excellent alternative to renting a car in Playa.

Todo bien, auto en buen estado, todo bien claro en la entrega del auto y del retiro. Lo único es que llegaron tarde a dejar el auto y a buscarlo y eso fue medio confuso, pero fueron a dejar y buscar el auto a mi hotel.

Do not rent from here if you need a receipt or expect to pay with credit. They only accept cash and tell you inbyour last minutes of traveling.

FYI - location doesn’t exist. We showed up here only to be told they don’t actually have an office in playa del Carmen centro.

Tuvimos una buena experiencia, alquilamos un carro por 10 días, nos dieron un carro mejor que el que habíamos solicitado por la página, un Chevrolet aveo (un poco rayada la pintura pero andaba bien), lo único a mejorar es que cuando nos iban a recoger en el aeropuerto nos dijeron que enviarían a un chico con camiseta de ellos y hasta nos mandaron la foto, y estuvimos 1 hora esperándolo y luego cayeron en cuenta que habían mandado a otra persona con camiseta con otro logo, el señor también esperándonos como 1 hora, mejor dicho estábamos al lado y no sabíamos que nos estábamos buscando jajaja, sería bueno que tengan el nombre de la persona que arrendó el carro en un cartel.

Please be aware that City Car Rental contracts different companies to provide car rental services. I dealt with the Cancun location first and had a great experience. I later rented from Playa Del Carmen thinking I would get the same experience and it was a disaster from start to finish. The company is called Abdul Transporting Tours. The car wasn’t up to par, Manuela and Israel delivered the car with no masks on, in the middle of a pandemic and in a car that was supposed to be disinfected. I was also owed money that was to be given to me during the return of the car which was a hassle. City Car Rental’s customer service, Wendy and Juvy, confirmed one thing and Israel did another. I spoke with Pablo, the General Manager, who was also unprofessional. I had to later tell him not to call or text me because our business dealings were done. In addition, they charge a significant amount to use your credit card which isn't ideal for tourists. I wouldn't rent from the Playa Del Carmen site again.

Tras alquilar el coche para seis días, nos paran la policía y nos dicen que el permiso de circulación está caducado, que es una multa de 3mil pesos, le decimos que no tenemos tanto efectivo, que si se podía pagar con tarjeta y nos dice que cuanto tenemos en efectivo, a lo que le damos al policía 1050 pesos y ni nos da comprobante ni nada. Vamos a la oficina, y literalmente se lavan las manos, nos dicen que nos avisan de la corrupción que hay, que a los extranjeros le suelen hacer eso y que no pueden hacer nada, cuando es totalmente mentira, ni nos avisaron. Al final entregamos el coche antes, porque ya viendo el panorama que hay mejor evitar y tuvimos que pagar todo al completo. Fascinante país

The website says they rent for 2 days. After asking Gabriel in the chat, he texted me (big letters) NO 3 DAYS. Not very professional. Hope his day will be get better.

Very disappointed by the service. We chose City Car Rental since they had great opinion on Google Maps. We took Wolksvagen Vento. First we reduced couple days before the number of days and we and they didnt change the price, we had to negociate to have the normal price. Then the car had a problem with seatbelt signal which was ringing for all the trip long, that was very annoying. When we drive back the car we had to wait for 30 minutes for the person to come. When we told them for the problem, the person just laughed at us and did not took any note of the problem.

City car rental was communicative, reasonably priced, and actually charged what they priced with no attempts at upselling (a rarity in the Riviera Maya). The car was as advertised; clean and drove smoothly. The office is a bit far from the Cozumel ferry where we arrived, but the short taxi ride was certainly worth the convenience and price of City Car Rental, so we highly recommend them.
