We were given a great quote for getting a large maple, a large mulberry tree, a smaller mulberry tree and some smaller stumps/bushes taken out. The removal crew was efficient and fast! Then later in the day the stump grinder came by and finished things up. The lawn was torn up a bit with falling branches and the heavy equipment, but that is to be expected with this type of service. I did go over one spot so far to clean up a bit with a rake and shovel after they left. Still need to see about the large mulch pile from the front tree. But really, for the price you cannot beat it!
And my toddler was fully entertained this morning by watching the crew and them waving to her 💛
We hired Cheap Charlies to remove 6 trees and elevate/prune 1 multi lead large tree and got a really good price. We set a date, confirmed the date and time (the day before) and took off of work so that we could be here for the removal. Our time slot was from 8am to 12pm on a Monday. We received a phone call at 11:04 am stating that they could not come due to a truck breaking down. We understand that life happens. We asked the man who contacted us to rebook within that week as we are working to resolve an insurance issue. We were told that they couldn't reschedule until 10 days later. He stated that our home was out of the way. We called the secretary and again asked if they could accommodate us sooner, and the secretary stated that she would have to check with her boss. Several days later, we still have not received any phone calls back, even with repeat phone calls and voicemails that went unanswered. Lo and behold, we hired someone else who was able to accommodate us within 2 days, gave us a better price and did an awesome job. Don't chose this company. They don't care about helping people, they're just looking to make a buck. Read the 1 star reviews and consider carefully before booking.
The price they quoted was cheap, but communication with the office is awful. Multiple unanswered phone calls and multiple unreturned messages. Not helpful when you are trying to get something done in a timely manner.
Ended up hiring someone else to take care of this issue due to time constraints and lack of follow up from the office.
Stop! Don’t look any further! When I placed my first phone call and got a LIVE person I thought , ok good sign. Jimmy showed up on time, gave me the best quote. Then Christian and the guys arrived did the tree trimmings and before they left confirmed the job was to my satisfaction. My property was cleaned up and my tree came out terrific.
Everyone I dealt with was professional and nice.
This company is straight garbage. Do Not use them. They were working on my block and they ripped the electric lines off my house. They refused to pay me back what it cost to get my electric and cable back up and I did t even ask them to fix my siding and gutters that they damaged. Absolutely trash of a company. Don’t use them and watch out of you see them near your house.
I have used Cheap Charlies 3 times now over the last few years and they do not disappoint. They have fair prices, they get the job done quickly and efficiently. Their men set up protection when doing stump grinding as not to damage property, and they clean up after themselves really well. I highly recommend them to anyone needing trees removed and stumps ground down.
If all you care about is having a tree removed at a low price, they may be OK for you. BUT, if you care about anything else, probably not. They did not put down boards for their equipment and did a number on our lawn with 6” deep trenches in the heavy traffic areas. They staged the largest logs for pick up 6 hours later on my neighbors lawn without asking. They didn’t grind the stump the same day and didn’t return calls asking when that would happen and the guy showed up without any notice at 6pm on Friday as we were heading out to dinner and left us with a foot high pile of wood chips from the grinding. The owner was abrasive and basically said its in the contract that he doesn’t remove the grinding debris and isn’t responsible for damage to the lawn caused from his equipment. Bottom line, there is a reason why Cheap Charlies prices are low, so make sure that’s what you want.
My neighbor requested permission to have a tree on my property cut down and out of the goodness of my heart, I gave my permission. I NEVER expected the tree company to damage our clothesline, our PVC gate as well as the top of the posts of our PVC fence. This occurred well over a year ago, close to a year and a half. I lost count of the number of phone calls I have made to this tree company. I went on their website and they do not have a good rating and this review should lower their rating even more. I feel the decent thing to do is to return phone calls and when a business can not even do that, it doesn't deserve to even be in business. If Arnold Diaz, the news reporter, was still on tv, I'd call him and tell him about Cheap Charlie's for him to go interview him and say "SHAME, SHAME, SHAME" because that's what he deserves!!
Do not hire this company unless you love aggravation! I can't comment on the quality of their work, as they twice never showed up for scheduled appointments. Not only do they not show up, they don't even have the decency to contact you. First time they told me the next day that they couldn't call me back, after numerous attempts on my part to contact them, because they could not make outgoing phone calls on their office phones. I guess they never heard of cell phones or e mail. Second time after numerous attempts to contact them again, they did not show up again, with no attempt to contact us either that day, or the next. Worst customer service ever! Hence the name "CHEAP" Only gave 1 star because I had to.
Cheap Charlie's Tree Service came in gave me a very competitive price.. did an excellent job. True professionals from beginning to end. Would highly recommend them.
