Five ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ service
Stayed here this weekend with our friends Caron and Jackie. This is a gem Eleanor is a superb host and cannot do enough for you. Have stayed in Inverness quite a few times over the years. But you can rest assured I will not be staying anywhere else after staying at Castle view. Lovely clean rooms and the breakfast is amazing with so much choices. It’s great to see the great reviews that you have received, as you deserve every single one of them. Thanks again for making our weekend such a memorable pleasant experience. Master ??
Having had a few days away between Oban to Inverness we spent our last night here before heading home.. Eleanor is the nicest person you can meet. Our stay was fantastic. Our room for the night was the castle view, the most amazing bed ever. Breakfast was delicious and Eleanor was so attentive to our every need... we would definitely be staying again and will be recommending the castle view ..
Brief but wonderful stay in Inverness!
Although we only spent a brief night in Inverness, arriving late and leaving very early the next morning, Eleanor went above and beyond in terms of being a gracious and attentive host. Right off the bat, she gave us good advice in terms of what to see in Inverness, and the recommended restaurants in the town. The rooms themselves were quite charming, very clean, and the guesthouse has a very central location right next to the River Ness.
Since we were leaving early before the regular breakfast time, Eleanor prepared a delicious box lunch for us, even cooking some tasty Hebridean Salmon we had on our drive the next day.
Overall, a very delightful experience. Thanks Eleanor!
Wonderful
This was our second visit to Castle view and it was every bit as amazing as our first! Elenor is a wonderful host and Mia just adds to the charm of this place, nothing is too much trouble and we felt completely safe at home, stayed for 3 nights this time as we moved on to Fort Augustus, with hindsight we should have stayed where we were as it was an absolute come down at the next guest house, thanks for a great few days Elenor, breakfast was the best meal of the day, gained 3lbs!! we will be back x
I will stay nowhere else when in Inverness
Where to start... At the beginning... I travel extensively around the world and never have I received such a warm and welcoming greeting. Both the owner and her amazing dog Mia greeted me from the entrance. I must state Mia is welcoming but not over excited, a beautiful dog.
I was taken by the unique decor of the guest House.. I loved it. And the room.. Sooo comfy. Its felt homely but still boutique chic. Really lovely. Everything was sanitised and she never said entered the room to keep social distancing rules but still excorted me to it and explained everything from outside.
All the channels worked... You may be thinking of course but the hotel I stayed in the night before not one channel played constantly.
Another thing that made this lovely was I asked for recommendations for dinner on my arrival and Eleanor very quickly gave me 5 options.. All in walking distance, local but still a variety of food. And the option I picked was great as she said.
The bed was soooo comfy. I slept really well.
Breakfast.. From beginning to end was incredible and I got to taste a bread from East Scotland in... Local jams and honey. And I am sure I distracted the host from doing her work but she was really easy to talk to and again welcoming.
She gave some really good suggestions for my NC500 road trip.
An absolutely fantastic place to stay. I highly recommend
Brilliant guest house
I had a brilliant one-night stay here in September.
The property was very well-kept and Covid secure.
My room was spacious enough and had a great view overlooking the castle. Although on the smaller side, the bathroom was clean and had a great power shower.
Breakfast was 5 star - the best I had anywhere whilst away over a whole week.
Then, the excellent hospitality was what made this guest house definitely worth the visit whilst in Inverness!
A fantastic experience with a great hostess
My wife and I plus two friends spent a few days in Inverness last week staying in the Castle View Guest House. As a Scottish Tour Guide many of my guests have stayed there over the past few years, and without exception they have loved it .
So I thought I would book up for our stay.
From the moment we arrived in this homely guest house we were looked after by Eleanor as if we were her own family.
The rooms were spacious and spotlessly clean and given the current Covid 19 pandemic Eleanor had followed all government guidelines to the letter and more.
A magnificent setting on the banks of the River Ness it’s an ideal base for exploring this wonderful city and the surrounding Highlands.
Her Scottish breakfasts were wonderful and her local knowledge was first class.
This place is a real home from home. If you want a real Scottish experience then this is the place for you. Don’t just take my word for it, book it and experience it for yourself.
Thank you Eleanor for a great few days. Jim and Joyce from Edinburgh. ????????
A little Gem
What a gem , beautiful period guesthouse perfectly furnished in the most stylish interior design. The whole house was immaculately clean with attention to every detail of sanitation in these difficult times. Eleanor is the perfect hostess , always there to help you no matter the question. The breakfast quality of food would put many 5 star Hotels to shame. I can’t praise enough this Stylish home and perfect hostess. It’s a must visit and certainly I will be back.
Tips for other travellers It was my first trip to touring the Highlands so I pretty much did all the usual road trips. The countryside is so beautiful every Munroe and Glen a delight to encounter along with the rugged coastline , sandy beaches and lochs.
Fresh, bright, airy, comfortable, clean, convenient
Conveniently located with superb views of the River Ness and Inverness Castle, your host Eleanor will ensure you have everything to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, including lots of delights at the breakfast table.
Amazing stay
We stayed 4 night at the castle View and it’ll had an amazing time!
Mia was so friendly with us and our little Prince who enjoyed his sausage treat and small teddy bear.
The room are clean and very comfortable, breakfast is so good!!
Mia’s smile and kindness made all the above even better!
Do not hesitate and book the room!!
Great place for those who appreciate quirky decor. However, very clean rooms, and great breakfast. Location is convenient. We would definitely stay there again. The hostess Eleanor cannot do enough to ensure you have a great stay. The only downside is that there are too many flights of stairs for those with mobility issues.
Beautiful place to stay. right in the centre of town, overlooking the river. room was very comfortable and quiet. lots of nice walks, bike rides right on the doorstep. Elenor was very accommodating and helpful. thank you. would defiantly recommend this guest house and will stay there again next time we make it up to Inverness.
The owner was very helpful in giving us restaurants, places to go, places to walk and said repeatedly any questions she'd be happy to answer. Our room was very comfortable. It was easy to adjust the temperature in the room and it worked quickly. Very ciomfortable bed, delicious and very comprehensive breakfast - if something wasn't there you just had to ask and she accommodated the patrons - quiet room, roomy bathroom and a great view of the Inverness Castle. Parking is a block away and is 5 euro per 24 hours. Laundrette around the corner and a grocery store too. Very good restaurants flank both sides of the B&B. I would definetly book a room here again.
We loved staying here so much on my first trip to Scotland in 2017 that we decided this would be the ONLY place we returned to in 2019 on our second trip. Here are the reasons why: GREAT LOCATION..... it's called Castle View because it's right across the river from the Castle..... even though it is in the heart of the city, it was quiet, the rooms/beds/pillows/linens are very comfortable, the breakfast is like no other: More fresh fruit choices than any other place I have ever been to, plus loads of other hot and cold breakfast fare..... and finally because of the hostess Eleanor. She is one of the nicest people on this planet earth. Hard-working, eager to provide recommendations for things to see and do, and kind. So kind. We love her!
Whilst visiting Inverness there is only one Guest House to stay in and that is "Castle View" on Ness Walk. A beautifully decorated Victorian building that overlooks the river, city and the castle. The beds are very comfortable and made up with top quality bed linen to envelope you at days end after touring. Breakfast is top notch using locally sourced produce and keeps you going well into the day. My Sister and I stayed for five nights from Sept 15th to Sept 19th this visit and next time we shall extend. If you are seeking comfort, cleanliness, great host and most of all peace and quiet then do not hesitate to stay at Castle View. You will NOT be disappointed. Thank you Eleanor for opening your home to one and all and showing us a true Scottish welcome..........you are unique.
