Wow, from driving through the walled entrance along the slightly bumpy drive and approaching the stark grey of the building, we were unsure as to what awaited. However upon entering the stunning home we knew we had picked a gem. The sections of this intriguing house that have been renovated are beautiful , the remaining are stunning. There are so many event opportunities here: recitals, weddings, concerts. Attention to detail at breakfast was lovely and thank you for the pancake advice, we will let you know the outcome ! Wish I could give more than 5 stars! Loretta is a delightful host, and we had a great time. The rooms were clean, the bathroom spotless, and the history of the place was so fun to learn about. The breakfast was delicious, and the coffee is the best we had on our whole trip.
Castlecor was a nice central location for our visit to Ireland, and we would definitely want to stay again if we ever come to Ireland again.
Highly recommend!
Our stay at Castelcor was excellent. Our family of four thoroughly enjoyed our time at this property... learning about its history, the efforts to restore it, and just the overall cool feeling of staying in such a unique place. Loretta was great... all communication was spot on. The location is very good too if traveling from west to east coast. Overall, I'm happy to recommend this accommodation!
We had a wonderful evening last Sunday in Castlecor House. Lovely to see such an old house being lived in and loved. Loretta and Brian could not be more welcoming, great hosts and they gave of their time to make us feel at home. The breakfast was great, nothing was a bother. Wishing them the very best in their big restoration job. Hope to return in a few years to see the finished project.

We enjoyed a wonderful last night in Ireland at Castlecor. Loretta and her family are incredibly kind. We loved learning a bit about the house. We slept great, appreciated the rainfall shower and had a wonderful meal down the street.
It was a very relaxing stay and Id highly recommend! You can find them on Instagram and their website too.
We were just looking for a place to stay to attend a local event. We didnt know wed experience such a lovely historical mansion with a very kind host family. The breakfast is lovely, you should definitely have it. Touring the great room and learning the history is a must. We highly recommend.
We had a lovely stay at Lorettas castle. I can definitely recommend staying here. She is very helpful and you feel very welcome in their home. She also gave us a little tour of the castle and telling us some of its history.
When staying here I recommend going to the Tullamore Dew guided tour.

It is a truly unique place, and truly charming people behind this place. We have been in around 40 countries, but we have never stayed in anything close to Castle Cor. Castle Cor is full of history, which you would observe inside; peace, which you can experience staying in it; and care, which Loretta and her family are giving to guests and house. We loved staying there, and we want to come back to Ireland simply to experience staying here again, and we already miss chatting with Loretta about Castle Cor.
Booked a last minute one-night stay and we were pleasantly surprised by this unique house and its history. Have never seen anything quite like the octagonal hall. Loretta was so welcoming and helpful. Room and breakfast were lovely. We spent a relaxing evening by the fire, reading and playing chess. Perfect!

Five stars all around. This was a wonderful place to stay. This home is absolutely beautiful, and we loved hearing Loretta talk about its history. She met us at the front door upon arrival and it was nothing short of perfect from that point on. Her husband and children were very welcoming also. Our stay included tea by the fire, a short tour around the house, piano music provided by her son, a very clean room, and the BEST breakfast the next morning. The little town close by is cute, and we enjoyed dinner at Skellys. Highly recommend staying here to anyone coming to visit! It was only an hour outside of Dublin, so it made for a great location on our first night there as we were traveling to Galway. We hope to come back soon!
Spent a weekend with my family in Loretta and Brians stunning home, where we were welcomed with tea and coffee and an open fire on arrival and a beautiful breakfast the following morning. Loretta shared the history of the house with us and the story of the impressive renovation works they've carried out on this remarkable building. A weekend to remember in an exceptional historical building with the very best of hosts.
