Disappointing Platform I can honestly say Care.com is one of the biggest wastes of time I’ve ever subscribed to. The vast majority of profiles on the platform appear to be inactive. You spend time carefully reaching out to potential candidates, only to hear nothing back. In my experience, the response rate is well under 5%, which makes the entire process incredibly frustrating and inefficient. For a paid service, the value simply isn’t there. You’re essentially paying for access to a database that is outdated and unresponsive. The platform does little to ensure engagement or accountability from caregivers, which defeats the purpose of using a service like this in the first place. I’ve had significantly better luck using community-based platforms like Nextdoor and local neighborhood groups, where people posting are actually active and interested in helping. The difference in responsiveness and quality is night and day. Bottom line: this platform is not worth what they charge. Save your time, save your money, and look elsewhere.

COMPLETE SCAM-AVOID AT ALL COSTS! extremely deceptive marketing designed to intentionally mislead people. when you sign up the payment screen claims "$10.99 a month and cancel at any time"-but it ends up that you are charged for the entire year all at once and while you can cancel there are no refunds! what was once a great company has now devolved into merely a huge marketing scheme to be avoided at all costs!

They refuse to tell me why they locked me out, refuse to let me change my billing information, refuse to provide me services, refuse to refund the $200 that I just paid for my services. This is a terrible way to treat a long time loyal customer. They completely dropped me the minute I first really needed their services

Response Time Is ImpressiveI put out a project and received applications within hours. I was able to hire someone in my budget and on my timeline. Reason I chose this business: Many of the folks on sites like this don't respond. Everyone I asked for a response from actually responded within hours.

Lovely! Maddy jumped right in with our 15 month old and he didn't even cry when we left. She was a last minute date night booking while we were visiting the area and she was a good communicator and super friendly. Highly recommended!

DisconnectionsFound a cat sitter I was hiring. Texted back and forth on computer, Went fine. Asked her to call at number I gave. She said that she would after she put her child to bed. Never called me. I texted her back about five times from that nigh until the next day. She did not respond by phone or text. Had to hire some else through a social worker Reason I chose this business: I will not use this service again. Consider this my cancellation notice. Actually, I would like my approx. $15.00 month's fee back. Also, I did pay for a full year, and I want that agreement cancelled.

FrustratedThe experience has been frustrating. First contact I was given 3 choices. I chose the one closest to me but she never responded to my contact. Another woman made contact and we agreed that she would try it since she lives an hour away and has cat allergies and I have 4 cats. As we were emailing, the website came up with multiple other options that live closer but I had already made a commitment. Reason I chose this business: First cleaning is scheduled for 01-07-25.

I have had an awful experience trying to work with this company. I signed up because I was looking for a caregiver. Also signed up for a background check subscription. I found a caregiver after about 6 weeks. The caregiver had moved from one state to another and was trying to change her "legal" address so the background check would be accurate. Care.com would not let her change her legal address and it did not matter that the address they had was NOT her legal address anymore. I was not able to get an accurate background check because of this. I paid for a service I could not use, because of their refusal to correct their records. I asked for a refund and the best they could do was cancel my whole Care.com subscription. Another HUGE problem is that you cannot talk to a live person - only chat bots and email. They provide "canned" responses that don't address the issue. There is no way to contact them. I filed a complaint with their legal department because it was the only address I had to contact them. THIS COMPANY IS HORRIBLE! AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE.
