Wonderful stay at Best Western Newport CA. Check in was easy, front desk person was very friendly. The hotel exterior was clean. Parking lot was well lit, felt safe. Hallways were clean and well lit. Room clean. Has keurig style coffee maker and mini fridge. Only complaint about the room is the lack of overall lighting.
If you are booking a stay on or through a Sunday night, be sure to ask for a room that is not on the side with the church next door. They are in worship from about 4-7pm Sunday evenings and it's crazy loud and disruptive.
Found some not so nice reviews on other sites so I was a little nervous but very happy. Area was safe. Guy who checked us in was polite. You have to use room card to get into hallway which gave more security. Rooms were big, couch was comfy was bed was great. There were extra pillows however an extra blanket would have been nice. The TV remote lol what the heck. It took way to long to figure out how to get something to play. Maybe have an instuction sheet on which input to use. Other than that fantastic.
The property itself is beautiful the rooms the breakfast staff and security were all respectful I guess but made us feel uncomfortable like we weren't good enough to be guest here after I payed for 4 days in advance. The room has no towels in the restroom or anywhere inside our room. Its says online u get slippers that's a lie I didn't see slippers anywhere. I had to go look for a worker to ask for some because the maids weren't nowhere in sight.i got a few. Then upon checking out I was charged for damaging 2 towels that I had in my car they were stained so I used them to mop the floor because it was sticky and felt nasty on my bare feet. IT WASNT FAIR I DIDNT WANT TO ARGUE SO I LEFT IT ALONNE. BUT THEY TOOK $24 OUT OF MY DEPOSIT WITHOUT VERIFING...I was in room 122 by the way.

i got my gym bag stolen from the guests wash and dryer room when i left it on top of the dryer unattended for 20mins! The worst is that there were cameras in place but the staff did not know or did not want to check it and resolve right away so be careful when staying there !

Everything was excellent. They have free parking (why does everywhere charge an extra 30-50$ a night to park the car you used to get to their hotel? Crazy)

The staff were fantastic but it is an older more run down hotel. It is clean and breakfast was included. Good value for money but know that's what you're getting.

☺Leckeres, einfaches Frühstück mkt Rührei, Waffeln, Müsli, Banane, Orange und sehr süßen Säften
Sauberes, ruhiges Zimmer und bequeme Betten
Sicheres Parken und einfach zu erreichen mlt dem Auto
☹Die Waschmaschinen haben die Wäsche nicht ganz sauber bekommen und die Kleidung hat dansch nach Urin gerochen. Vielleicht mal öfter die Waschmaschine tiefenreinigen.
Beim Frühstück gab es sehr wenig bei Glutenintoleranz und das Wasser schmeckte extrem nach Chlor (wid leider meistens in den USA).

☺ Very nice room, comfy beds and we especially loved the truly heated pool so we could swim comfortably at night!
☹ It took a couple requests to get towels at the pool and we were a little nervous since we were told to go ahead and swim and still no towels! Also, you can't just get towels you need at the front desk, they must be delivered by maintenance for our room and for the pool.
