Scheduled to move my daughter to Chicago. Reserved 6 weeks in advance. Showed up morning of and no truck. Consolation? Sorry. We can’t control truck returns. Avoid, avoid, avoid! Believe reviews when you read them. I chose to ignore. Bad move on my part.
Easy in and easy out. Everything runs pretty smoothly if you have a reservation. However, when I initially picked up the car last week, I was given a car with a temporary plate that expired in 2 days and I was going to be gone for a week, and there were previous renters trash under the seats. I didn't find either of these issues until I got home. So, after calling and being on hold for over 30 minutes, I hung up and took it back. They gave me another vehicle without any problems.
Reservations gives you a location to pick up your rental car then at the last minute could switch it to another location 40 miles away in greenwood, Indiana when you get there the office employee develops a real bad attitude and starts throwing stuff around the office and when you state you're going to do a walk around inspection he gets really mad. If I could give a .inspection rating I would.
Rented a moving van about a month in advance, and canceled on me 3 days out from my move. No other alternatives available. Didn't call, did everything over text. Unprofessional, unorganized. Poor service overall.
This location is not Budgets finest effort. Our car was filthy other outside and dirty on the inside. Smelled like cigar smoke. But, it was the best rate so we took it. Pretty much the same every time we use this location. That's why we try to go elsewhere when pricing permits. Avoid if you can
She had to scan my debit card that she can only run once in a 24 hr period. She had to manually modify the info on card. Then it didn’t process. Drove 70 min out of way to get a car needed cause cannot pick up any other day. Only to have to leave and cancel reservation. Called the bank they never ran the card no declined messages or anything.
Rented an suv from this location and when leaving we realized that the suv had some mechanical issues. We took it back within a half hour and was told that because we drove it off the lot that we would be charged for a day with the rental. We called customer service and filed a claim and it was unanswered.
Previously rented from this location with no issues, so we booked another rental for a trip out of town.
Dropped my husband off to grab the car to run errands before we left. My husband called that they physically needed my card to put the deposit on (which, I should have known from previously renting with them, so that's on me) so I headed back. We got back in line when I got there and waited for about 20 minutes behind a line of 4 people with only one person working the line. When we got to the desk, the employee started processing again and told me they'd have to contact a manager to approve my rental because the bank showed my middle initial as my last name initial (which she said was a known issue). Waited while them and the manager texted to determine if they could approve. Ended up being told they couldn't rent to me because it didn't match. Then, because I had pre-paid, I had to call Budget to have my reservation refunded. Wasted about an hour on this whole process and ended up with no car for our trip the morning we were planning to leave.
Thankfully we were able to rent from the Enterprise down the street with a new rental in less time than the whole ordeal at Budget took.
I'm also concerned because I overheard the employee telling a customer they only know if there are issues with the cars if they're reported and they don't have time to check them between renters.
They didn't have the van size I reserved, so gave me a larger truck for the same price as originally quoted.
On getting in, the truck showed low tire pressure due to the cold. The young lady working the desk found a portable air pump and stood outside with me in 19-degree wind chill to fill up the tires to ensure a safe drive!
Scheduled a rental through Uber, got here and they said that they didn't take Chime cards. 😑 Very annoying, that they give that warning before I got here.
Anyhow, I suggest not renting from here. Caused me A LOT of inconvenience; I've got things to do.
