Rather an upsetting experience and I am still left buffled what was the worst: scandalous repair quotation price, kicking my wheel trims at my presence or the witnessed humiliation of the apprentice received from his fellow wrench monkeys. I've been using B's for about 5 years: motorcycle, two cars and a number of the recommendations to friends to use them. I liked their location, speed of booking and the sensible approach. Old banger MOT: the two tyres replacement and the front wheel tracking. Rightful MOT failure due to the blown registration bulb and the leaking rear shock absorber. 1. Shock absorber. I was quoted £150 + VAT for one (these should be changed in pairs). This is a joke, as the rear shock absorber can be changed in approx 20 minutes and in this model the replacement does not present any complexity and does not even require the wheel removal: literally, unscrew one bolt and one nut - remove, replace rubbers, fit and screw everything again. The whole process on both sides took me 40 minutes on my driveway, while drinking coffee and swearing at human greediness. Well done B's - you tried to charge me £500 per hour for easy job. 2. Front wheel tracking. Upon completion of the lengthy task I went outside to see why this procedure takes nearly two hours (!). I have witnessed the apprentice kicking my one month old wheel trims. I know that automobile education is constantly reforming and improving, but I am certain that using boots is not an approved procedure in any professional business except timewasting car purchase or bouncer's service. Sorry - that was very disrespectful. Weak, written apology has been offered by Phil. 3. My relatively expensive wheel trim (worth about 10% of the car value!) has been broken. I have asked for it to be repaired during the MOT retest. As usual, it was taking exceptionally long, so I again popped outside to see what are they were kicking now. What I have witnessed instead, contradicts Article 3 of the European Convention of Human Rights. Yes, my "favourite" apprentice got his punishment. He was left on his own with the problem, without any meaningful guidance and clearly had no clue how to fix it. In the process, he made it even worse, but I realised, that guys wanted to humiliate him publicly so upon realising that it was not about fixing my car, but about continuing the degrading treatment to the already very pale and nearly crying boy - I stepped in and ask him to stop it immediately, because that was a pointless torture. Looking at the other negative comments about B's (the one with the banjo copper washer missing is my favourite!), it looks like the garage has a massive problem with provision of the safe environment for learners. I think the local college should have a very good look into it and postpone using B's until their governance will improve. We all do cockups occassionally, but it is the way how we fix our mistakes that truly matters. Final nail in the coffin was the £27 MOT partial retest fee, they knew it was the last of my money they will ever see. PS. James - I am certain you will never kick the customer's wheel again. Excess of the doublesided tape can be removed mechanically using the clean plastic or wooden spatula, or chemically, using the TARDIS and similar glue removers. You would achieve better results if you would use the dab of transparent hot gun glue stick, or cyanoacrylate glue with activator. I have now repaired the wheel trim correctly, but the attached photo of how my vehicle left the B's shop - may serve forever as a perfect reflection of their quality service, dedication and skills.

Excellent service from B’s garage for my Motorbike MOT. Booked me in nice and quickly and carried out the test brilliantly, happy to say that my bike passed with flying colours. I will definitely bring all of my bikes back to B’s for all MOT’s.

Had MOT done on the motorbike & sidecar. Left it to go for a walk and on return bike had passed MOT. It had initially failed on a brake light switch, but they had one in stock and just replaced it, then passed it. That sort of service is very very rare nowadays and can recommend this garage for service and MOT. Many thanks to Phil and his team.

B's Garage service is absolutely first class. They kept me in the loop, explained things without jargon and were upfront about cost and lead-times before arranging the necessary repairs. Although my car was an MOT failure it was repaired, re-tested and ready to collect within less than 24 hours. All at an incredibly reasonable price. Oh, and they were the only garage who could fit me in soon enough when I stupidly forgot my MOT was due. You can't ask for more than that - thanks B's Garage team.
