If you’re going to bring a dish from Nigeria to life in Brooklyn New York do it the right way ! First and foremost my pictures speak for themselves. This is not how SUYA beef is sliced for consumption. Why would you serve big chunks of meat like that in a bowel on a bed of kale. Next it was tasteless no flavor in the meat only the sprinkle seasoning on top had flavor. First time and last time I was so disappointed waste of money ! Tough dry big thick pieces of tasteless beef. If it was flavored beef that has been marinated and juicy I could go home and slide it up, fair enough I would not have been so upset. But these huge pieces is not easily edible SUYA IS SERVED IN BITE SIZED PIECES not these huge pieces bigger then an Oreo cookie. And for a salad bowl this is crazy. Y’all gotta do better this is not fair to customers! The good reviews yall were lucky based on the protein yall picked cause the beef was a big fail! Not to be compared to real SUYA in Nigeria !

Apologies you did not have a good experience your complaints will be noted
First tried this place months ago when they were vending at the Brooklyn museum! My partner and I ordered Takeout from them and were thoroughly impressed! The food was so flavorful and the servings were a great portion! The bad thing was there was a piece of foil stuck to the chicken on my partners food :( just want to bring this to the attention of the staff because Suya is SO good and I’m sure it was a mistake.
Excellent bowl of chicken, tofu, veggies, and rice. Came out to be more expensive than I anticipated, even though I was warned the veggies would cost extra (around $1.5 I think). Not sure if the additional protein cost me more as well. It probably did. In any case, I did not expect to spend almost $25 (incl. tip) for a bowl. Again, delicious food but just a bit pricey.
The food here is gentrified African food, but the Suya Bowls were SOOO Good. First time trying the restaurant, the music playing outside and the word suya drew me in to try the food. I was expecting grilled beef on a skewer stick with lots of onions dusted in dry spiciness. I ordered the steak bowl with a kale and rice combo, plantain with the peanut aioli sauce on top. The food was really good, it still had the taste of Africa.
The food was fresh and my meat straight off the grill smoker. The onions were plenty which I liked with a few cucumber slices placed in the bowl. I enjoyed my meal very much as I dined outside on their picnic tables enjoying the R&B tunes playing from the speaker. I was bit disappointed I was given only one slice of plantain, the plantain was fried to perfection and really sweet, I had wish I had a few more added to my bowl.
This will be a repeat place I would visit if I'm every back in the Brooklyn area.
