Have used Alex a few times to install some new radiators and move the boiler. Communication has always been excellent and Alex is extremely knowledgeable. Work has always been to an excellent standard ensuring he cleans up after. Competitively priced and now my go to plumber for any future jobs.

Alex and Jodie went out of their way to schedule us in with little notice. We had a tight schedule so it was really appreciated. Alex has done an amazing job at fitting a new water supply for our new kitchen, removing the gas line to an old gas fireplace, removing unneeded pipes, changing the toilet and replacing all the radiators. Alex is very knowledgeable and his advice has been super useful, especially as first time buyers. The work was of the highest quality. Alex is reliable and friendly. We would highly recommend Alex to friends and family, and we are planning to always use Blue Whale Plumbing going forward!

We would definitely recommend Alex. We had a complete bathroom refit. The communication before was good and Alex was really helpful at making recommendations and ensuring that the bathroom would work. He was very respectful throughout the work and took into accommodation our children's SEN. He was considerate and always left the area tidy at the end of the day. Alex was able to offer advice on buying products and was knowledgeable as well as being approachable. The process was extremely smooth and Alex quickly came back to fix any a few small issues. He was attentive to details and we are really happy with our completed bathroom. Would 100% recommend Alex for any plumbing jobs.

Alex came to investigate a leak in the ceiling of our downstairs toilet. He located and fixed a problem with the pipe from the bath in the room above. He neatly replaced the bath panel and cleaned up afterwards. Alex has done work for us before and he always explains the problem clearly and is polite and charming.

Recently needed help with plumbing issues in bathroom, I was booked in the same week. Alex arrived to quote, was polite and knowledgeable. The work was carried out to a very high standard and all issues sorted in one afternoon. Customer service was also excellent. Highly recommend this company. Reasonable price. I contacted Blue Whale about installing a boiler in a property that was newly connected to gas. The property has lots of potential for future extensions, so boiler placement was somewhat complicated to “future proof” Alex was fantastic and took the time to suggest multiple options to the challenges faced. We settled on an option and the boiler was promptly installed. The pipe work is very neat and tidy, installed with care for the job. Highly recommend and I will definitely be asking them back for servicing/any other jobs.

Currently putting through a Court case as i really really feel i was poorly treated by this company and the case needs to be looked into by trading standards. Overpriced and under deliver and keep hanging up when trying to contact them

Alex and Jodie are both super efficient and make a great team, with excellent communication at all stages of my new boiler installation. Without Alex's excellent knowledge as both a gas engineer and electrician to resolve tricky technical issues, I have little doubt that my new upgraded system with weather compensation and hot water priority would not be working today. He has knowledge above and beyond most gas engineers, he works in a tidy orderly manner and has great attention to detail, will definitely be using him in the future. Thank you Alex and Jodie

The engineer arrived 45 mins late, with no notification or response to my text and no apology. I was charged for 1 hours labour (£102) for the boiler service (small service). (used to be £60 per hour) now charging VAT. The engineer broke a pin in the air valve of my pressurised cylinder when trying to change it, even though I told him to leave it as it was ok under pressure and not a problem during the past year. I was charge for the repair and time, this cost me another hours labour + VAT ( they wanted to charge me two hours for their mistake.) I complained to the company but they insisted it was leaking, not the case. On a previous service the boiler was working fine and then after a full clean wouldn't start up and a new thermostat was needed, I was charge nearly £300 for this, mostly labour. I won't be using this company again, very disappointed.

Dear Mr Charlie Nicolini, We do value feedback from our clients. However we would like to clarify some the points that you raised. Expansion Tank Repair You claimed that you told the engineer not to replace the valve and then he went ahead and broke the pin. What seems strange is that you were present during the repair and did not stop the engineer!? And then you happily helped him to carry his tools out to the van knowing that he had repaired the valve. Once you received the bill of £60+VAT to cover the valve repair cost, you became dissatisfied and posted a bad review to try and damage our reputation in some way. What you have failed to mention is - the tank is over 10 years old and the valve was ceased and corroded. We do understand your frustration at having this extra cost during a service. However, we can’t cover the cost of fixing and replacing old and worn out parts. You would not expect a car mechanic to cover your cost of replacing worn out car parts during a service. So why would you expect that anywhere else? You claimed not to have experienced low pressure for one year and so the valve wasn't leaking. What you have failed to understand from my communication is: 1. as part of a standard service, the system expansion vessel pressure needs to be checked (see https://www.unventedcomponentseurope.com/servicing-an-expansion-vessel/) That means we have to touch the expansion tank. 2. When we checked the system expansion vessel pressure for your tank, the pressure was lower than what the manufacturer recommends. 3. When we pumped up the expansion tank to increase the pressure the Schrader Valve failed and it began to leak air. 4. The valve snapped when the engineer tried to take it out because the valve was corroded/ceased due to the age of the tank. The valve was faulty. It was going to leak and break. It was over 10 years old. 6. If we had left the valve leaking, your boiler would have dropped in pressure causing your boiler to over heat and fail. The cost to fix the boiler at that point would have been considerably more than £60 + VAT. And you would have had the inconvenience of no hot water or heating until repaired. 7. At no point have we “tried” to charge you 2 hours labour for repairing the tank. This is totally untrue and malicious. Service Cost Your review also makes a complaint about the cost of our boiler service which is £85 +VAT. Our prices are transparent and are average for the market. The average cost of a boiler service in the UK is between £80-£120. So our charge falls within that range. We have never charged £60 for a boiler service. VAT You make a point of paying VAT on our bill. I'm unsure what you expect us to do about paying VAT? Arrival of Engineer Our email communication was that the engineer would be with you “around 9” - I still have the email. Our time slots are 1 hour. He arrived 9.40am! Previous Service Concerns This is the first time we have heard that you are dissatisfied with the full strip down of your boiler last year. You agreed to the boiler service pack and labour quote. The £300 you mentioned covers a full boiler strip down, a boiler service kit, new electrodes and labour. Again an average price. However, if you were unhappy. Why did you rebook us to service you boiler again this year?! We understand that you feel it's unfair that you have to pay for your heating repairs. However, please try to understand that old/corroded parts fail and need to get replaced especially on older boilers and heating systems.
