This is another fake review received only 12 hours after X D left a similar review. It is currently winter and we have limited bookings as it get quite cold. We have contacted all recent clients who have all confirmed they have had a great experience and didn't leave the negative review earlier today. Whoever is leaving these reviews is trying to unfairly impact our review rating especially as they are not actually a client of ours.

This is not a legitimate review from a client. As it is the middle of winter, we have limited picnics and have contacted all of our recent clients who have confirmed they had a great experience and didn't leave this review. We assume it is a new employee who worked for us for about a month but then started arriving late to work, letting us know last minute he is unavailable and became uncontactable. This was right when we were having our first baby and had to rely on them the most. We since terminated their employment and then received this review. The giveaway is that this profile also left a bad review for a Blackheath Pizza Shop which is the suburb where the employee lives and majority of our clients are not from the Blue Mountains. It was also posted at 4:15am on a Wednesday morning which seems very odd. The review is also inaccurate - we have never run a picnic at Lincoln's Rock and never would. The location is extremely popular and not suitable. We are the only NSW National Parks approved picnic company in the Blue Mountains and have private locations. There is a big difference between a proper luxury picnic with everything organised for you and taking some food to a popular tourist spot. Please look at our other reviews from real clients for an accurate indication of our experiences.

Hi Monica, firstly, I wish to apologise about you feeling that your experience back in October of last year wasn't the normal 10/10 experience that we pride ourselves on. On our website we make it clear that our BYO/Gourmet Picnic at our Locked Gate spot is not suitable for proposals, however you did pay and book yourself in without enquiring about this with us directly. To date you are still the only person that we have had book themselves in without communicating first. Every other person has seen this note and reached out to us prior to booking, that way we can provide an in-depth explanation as to what this difference entails (as there is a lot of differences, it's definitely not just photography) and therefore the person can decide if it's the right experience for them or not. I would just like to stress the point here, that we understand we might not be what everyone wants and that is completely fine, there is never any pressure for someone to book in with us for any of our picnic packages and before booking in people need to ensure that it is going to be the right fit. We didn't see your note about doing a proposal in the booking form as honestly this question was implemented for the purposes of our social media so that when we do posts after each weekend we can mention what our couples were celebrating as a nice touch. We always review our processes though and felt this area could be improved on our end so since your booking we have implemented further processes to ensure that no one can book in for a proposal via the other packages. You did receive an automated SMS from us immediately following booking stating the location isn't suitable for proposals and to contact us ASAP if you plan to propose. You responded you weren't interested in photography, a response that I have received before from people, even when they are just celebrating an anniversary. There was no mention of doing a proposal, or asking why it wasn't suitable, therefore it didn't get flagged here either. After lengthy discussions internally, we decided that it would be the wrong thing to simply just tell you that we are declining your booking and providing you the refund on such short notice to your scheduled picnic, particularly as well considering you were on holidays at the time off memory and we didn't want to leave you stressing for a last minute proposal plan. Therefore gave you the option about cancelling with a refund or proceeding with the proposal spot at no additional cost with no additional services (essentially exactly the experience you were wanting), despite that being at the detriment to us as we incur further fees to utilise this spot with National Parks. I am really sorry that you don't feel you had a 10/10 experience based on the items mentioned leading up to the day, but hopefully it provides you some peace of mind that we have put multiple methods into place that it is impossible for something like this to happen again. Hi Katrina, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We're genuinely sorry to hear that your picnic wasn't up to your expectations. We did try to get in touch with you multiple times after getting this review so we could discuss properly and get some more detailed feedback to keep improving. However as we couldn't get in touch we'll expand on things in this review. We're surprised to hear your comments as this is the first time we have had someone express negative feedback regarding pricing, food, rugs and the blankets in almost 4 years of operating and hundreds of picnics. Whilst we fully appreciate everything you have outlined, we definitely delivered exactly what was promised which is clearly communicated so feel maybe you didn't fully read or understand what you were purchasing. We assume you're comparing our pricing versus say a fine dining restaurant however unfortunately they are not comparable being totally different experiences and work/costs to deliver. We are far cheaper than other picnic companies and feel we provide excellent value. There is a lot more involved than you would first expect on the surface level with operating a picnic business. We have all of our food supplied by The Bunker which is a very reputable business with 4 individual restaurants amongst the Blue Mountains and Penrith. Every box is prepared by a chef and we have worked closely with The Bunker to ensure the food is of a high standard which all of our previous clients have been satisfied with. If you wanted something more substantial, you could have picked a breakfast box instead of charcuterie particularly as you had a 10:30am picnic. When choosing your food we clearly explain what is exactly in each box and you could have brought this up with us. We will however pass this feedback onto The Bunker. The Blue Mountains is also a very cold place particularly coming into winter. If you're from Sydney you will definitely notice a difference in temperature as we get snow fall once or twice every year due to the high elevation. Our blankets are not designed to keep people warm in winter and are no replacement for the appropriate clothing given our climate.
