Justin started the process off with an amazing design and sit down session to ensure we got everything we wanted for our pool, decking, and retaining wall. He created an awesome 3D computer layout of our project and explained how the entire process would work from start to finish. We had a great experience putting in our first pool with Blue Haven of Gulf Breeze! Sean came out to the house and drew up plans right there. All pricing and expectations were laid out up front so there was no hidden fees or expectations. Once it came time to the actual build Derrick Atchley came on board and was knowledgeable and trustworthy and we knew we were in good hands. He answered texts and emails right away, was at the build to check on progress and had items fixed to his expectations that we didn’t notice as novice pool owners. Ryan completed our pool school. He was patient with our many questions and provided helpful tips on getting rid of the stains left by the acorns dropping from our trees (I was worried they would never come up!!). My husband and I got our pool built by Blue Haven Pools (Gulf Breeze location) back in July 2021. We started having issues with it within a year and a half. Everytime that we have sought help from them, they never at least would come out to look at the issue (unless I paid) and looked for ways to NEVER resolve issues with the customer in mind. Most recently, I contacted them about my pool equipment platform sinking. Since they asked me to provide pictures, I did and management automatically pointed out the gutter downspouts near it. I had removed the downspout extensions to give them a better angle on the pictures. They never sent someone to look at it or called me to at least look into it. I have termite service that I've had for at least 3 years and the reports point out my downspout extensions on all of my downspouts. I also have a different homeowners insurance company who over 2 years ago took pictures of my house for the policy so that all my downspouts are shown in place to divert water away from my house and pool equipment, etc. Blue Haven wasn't interested in even talking with me to find all of this out because they were so quick to not take responsibility or even look into my issue with the platform sinking. They even had the nerve to point out the 'silver lining ' of me seeking another company to do the repairs (as I face spending more money on top of the thousands of dollars that I spent with Blue Haven to install the pool).
Please, whatever you do....Beware of selecting this business to build your pool. They will not do anything to rectify any issues after your pool is completed and paid for.

I normally don’t post reviews, but after my experience with Blue Haven Pools on the Gulf, I feel obligated to share what has taken place in the hope that it prompts accountability and helps future customers make informed decisions.
I entered into my pool contract with high expectations after being impressed by the company’s reputation and my positive initial experience with sales representative Justin Pilkington, who was professional, responsive, and helpful throughout the design phase. Unfortunately, nearly every stage that followed was marked by poor communication, unprofessional behavior, and substandard workmanship.
1. Post-Plaster Defects (Mottling and Surface Roughness)
More than 30 days after plaster completion, the pool surface shows black streaks, rough patches, and uneven areas — classic signs of plaster mottling. Despite maintaining balanced water chemistry and following care instructions, these flaws persist, and no one from the company has followed up to inspect or offer correction.
2. Deck Drain and Drainage Failures
The deck drain system was only partially installed (approximately 10 feet still missing). Worse, the paver decking was sloped in the wrong direction, causing water to pool against the patio foundation instead of draining away from it. This mistake directly contradicts proper installation standards and the property’s natural slope. It remains unaddressed.
3. Paver Material and Installation Quality
The pavers used appear to be subpar in quality and are already showing pitting and erosion. The deck also contains visible gaps, missing joint material, and unsealed areas. Standing water now sits against the foundation after rain due to the reversed slope — an issue that will likely lead to further structural problems if not corrected.
4. Final Grading and Drainage Problems
The final grading of my yard was performed hastily, leaving a channel where water now collects along the patio edge. I pointed this out the day it was done, but was told “the grading was correct.” No inspection or correction has occurred since. The result is standing water and poor runoff throughout the yard.
5. Professionalism and Oversight Concerns
My project manager, Jordan Englert, repeatedly showed unprofessional behavior — most notably during a patio layout appointment where he threw down a can of spray paint and told me to “draw it myself” before walking off.
I also personally witnessed workers drinking alcohol on the job site, listening to loud music, and leaving the work area messy. When I raised these issues with management, Jeff Nodine responded with questioning my account, and requested proof. After providing video evidence, I never received a follow-up call or resolution.
6. Property Damage and Lack of Cleanup
Excess red clay dirt was left throughout my property, killing grass in both my front and back yard, staining the brick exterior and hardscapes, and requiring professional cleaning. These damages were entirely avoidable and ignored despite multiple requests for cleanup.
While my pool is technically “complete,” the overall condition of my property, deck, and pool finish shows clear signs of poor workmanship, inadequate project oversight, and a lack of customer support once payment is received.

I want to emphasize that I don’t take this review lightly. I am posting this not out of anger, but out of concern for future homeowners who deserve transparency before committing to a project of this scale.
If you choose to work with Blue Haven Pools on the Gulf, document everything, get all commitments in writing, and inspect each phase closely. Quality and professionalism should never be optional, and unfortunately, that was my experience here.
