Scott at first seemed pleasant and knowledgeable as the building started there were issues from day 1. When the layout measurements weren’t quite right they needed to add on to the size so there had to be an addendum. Then the wall guy who was also the paver guy was recommended by Scott so for a bit more this guy was begging Scott to do work and would upgrade from stamped concrete to pavers so another addendum. then time to choose my pavers you can choose from this magazine I assumed what they showed me would be what I had already paid for in the addendum. No what they showed me was an upgraded paver Welp I did choose and guess what another addendum. So from 150k we’ll 147 ( but he put his draws in for the whole 150) which at that time I said just keep it get and my pool done I wanted them gone. What should have been complete in Aug- sept ended up completing in 4-5 months timeline of building a pool I have to replace my driveway due to damages they left a complete mess of the worksite i have to have cleaned I had to have railings installed not included but won’t pass inspection without them the drainage was not completed I have to have someone come and complete it I purchased a fire bowl which apparently didn’t come with a burner unit and his installation is setting it on the ground and doesn’t appear to be one you can run a gas line or controls to it appears to be just be a water bowl. When I asked for assistance as to where to or what apparatus I should purchase Scott was rude and unhelpful as could be. as they finished the job in November that should have been completed in August. Their communication was terrible the drama and the unprofessionalism was just a bad situation all the way around. 130k in addendums and 150k loan for an 80k -120k job watch out if he thinks you have money he will try and squeeze every dime he can and everything is sub par ! And last but not least the free chairs for the tanning ledge that you get with your almost 300k purchase. You will not receive those until the job is complete and you’ve completely paid him then you’ll be told to go pick up your tanning ledge lounge chairs at Dayton freight yourself and it’s a pleasure doing business with you !

Now that our pool project is complete, I wanted to take a moment to leave some well-deserved praise for Blue Haven Pools. The Blue Haven experience truly deserves recognition. From start to finish, Blue Haven was exceptional. They completed our custom gunite pool in just over seven weeks—an incredible timeline, especially considering all the bad weather during construction. We had been considering adding a pool for years, but couldn’t find a builder we truly trusted. Then we met Scott and the Blue Haven team. As an engineer (and with my wife being an attorney), we tend to be highly detail-oriented and cautious. From our first meeting, it was clear we were in good hands. The team’s professionalism, knowledge, and experience put us at ease right away. The contract was solid and fair—thoroughly reviewed by my wife, who appreciated the balanced terms and homeowner protections. Construction began almost immediately and progressed quickly, with work being done nearly every day, including weekends. The best surprises were the positive ones—consistently professional crews and steady progress. What stood out the most was the personal involvement by Scott. On the day the pool was dug, we saw him out in the street afterward, personally cleaning up dirt left by the trailer. That level of care and pride is rare. Even more impressive: on Memorial Day weekend, Scott came by on Sunday to manually start our pool after it finished filling. Then, on Memorial Day itself, his team came out to set up the electronics, automation, and app on my phone. Who works on a holiday weekend like that? It showed true dedication to customer satisfaction. This process wasn’t just smooth—it was enjoyable. Blue Haven turned a long-time dream into reality, and faster than we ever imagined. We have had the most incredible experience with Blue Haven Pools. Making the decision to have an inground pool installed is a big one, but having a company like Blue Haven - and experts like Scott, Linda, and Daniel - guiding you through the process makes all the difference. Scott did ALL the heavy lifting, coordinating all subcontractors and seamlessly managing the project, proactively communicating throughout the entire process. This guy's patience is unmatched, as we changed plans a few times, caused some delays, and even went on a pre-planned vacation in the middle of the project. Scott never skipped a beat; he was so flexible and adjusted the schedule based on our needs. Believe me when I tell you this company and these people are top notch. They set the bar on quality and service. To Scott, Linda, and Daniel: We can't thank you enough for everything you've done, the patience you've had, and for the memories to come for our family as we enjoy the oasis you created in our backyard. To anyone considering an inground pool: Blue Haven is the only way to go! Don't waste your time with anyone else.

Scott and his team did an excellent job and I am very glad that we chose them to build our pool! Scott was able to take our ideas and design exactly what we wanted- even though we only had rough ideas to guide him at first. We interviewed multiple Louisville area pool builders and Scott seemed to be the most knowledgeable and straight forward that we met. They were not the cheapest - but this is a long term investment and we got what we paid for. He advised us at every step and was quick to communicate schedule changes or answer questions. The entire project took a little longer than originally planned, however Scott talked us thru the delays and he was committed to making sure that things were done correctly. We made our final payment weeks ago, but the Bluehaven team continues to help us out and I am happy to know that they are just a phone call away. I will update this review down the road once we get some more miles on the pool.

We are absolutely thrilled with the work done by Blue Haven Pools and Scott! From start to finish, their communication was top-notch, keeping us informed every step of the way. Like any large construction project, there were a couple of issues, but Scott was able to address them quickly and professionally. The quality of the pool installation is outstanding—better than we could have imagined. I would be happy to work with Scott and Blue Haven again in the future. Highly recommend their services!
