This is my first time having a pool and I did a ton of research/meetings with 4 different pool companies prior to selecting Blue Haven Pools-Jacksonville. Ronnie Green represented Blue Haven and after my first meeting with him I knew we were going with Blue Haven. Ronnie was involved in the planning/design portion of the pool. He did a great job listening to what our family wanted in a pool and also offered his expertise based on our feedback. We had several meetings before finalizing the contract. Not once was Ronnie pushing us to move forward until we were ready. I could not have been more pleased with the design phase of this project! Ronnie is outstanding and highly recommend just to meet with him if you are considering a pool. Next came the permitting process. Sam Ford is unbelievable and her attention to detail and follow up is beyond impressive! Sam handled all of the permitting(which took time because we had to get a new survey(city rules) and HOA/City approval. Sam was all over it. We got approvals much quicker than I was expecting. Sam communicated with me great throughout this process. Furthermore, during the pool building process Sam would immediately follow up after inspections took place to let me know we have received approval. The permitting portion could be overwhelming but Sam made it as easy as it could be! Nice job Sam! I also want to recognize my day-to-day contact in charge of the pool build-Tyler Green. We immediately connected and what a great guy to work with during this part of the process. He was very professional and always had a smile on his face! His communication and follow up was outstanding. His knowledge of each step of the pool build was impressive! He was very honest with me throughout the process…We had little to no stress throughout this entire pool build. Tyler Green would be who I would ask for if you have the opportunity to use him during your pool build! I also want recognize Jake Wendzel. His knowledge of the pool industry and checking in throughout the process was great! Thank you Jake! Lastly, I was impressed with each of their subs that were onsite…they all were highly professional and always cleaned up after they were done. Electrician, paver install crew and plumbers stood out as the best but they all were good! Blue Haven did a great job with our small/medium sized pool and hot tub. Always going to be some hiccups along the way with any major construction project, but Blue Haven never left us hanging out there in the wind. They made sure they took care of us and followed up. Experience with Blue Haven Pools is nothing short of a disaster. Subcontractors caused damage to a neighbor’s property, cut critical pool wall rebar, and shot gunite walls far thinner than engineering specifications—creating serious structural risks—all without any direct supervision from Blue Haven. Their engineering plans directly conflict with the pool design, and after months of delays, no viable repair plan has been offered. Repeated attempts to escalate these issues internally were ignored or dismissed as part of “normal” construction. Project management is disorganized, consistently giving misleading timelines and false assurances, leaving the project stalled indefinitely. I strongly caution anyone considering this company—proceed at your own risk.

I do not normally do reviews, but I feel like with the amount of money a pool costs, reviews help other first-time pool buyers, like myself and my wife, make a decision on who to ultimately go with. I know I scoured reviews for just about every pool builder in the Jacksonville, FL area before going with Bluehaven-Jacksonville. This review will be honest and fair. Our build was not perfect by far. Maybe my wife and I were just naïve on exactly how big a pool build project was, but there were a few snags we were not expecting. Please note that construction is not perfect: • Blue primer glue got on the side of the house and gutter-Bluehaven had it repainted and gutter replaced • Pavers were on backorder when we got to that phase-Bluehaven quickly gave us two alternatives, and we like our new ones better than the original ones we selected • We identified some pavers that had a little more color variation than we liked from them being a white cement-based paver-Bluehaven had the paver sub back out to replace them • Some of the pavers got chipped due to other aspects of the pool build-Bluehaven had the paver sub back out to replace them • Electrical work cord management was a little sloppier than we wanted since our pool to equipment pad space is very short-Bluehaven had electrical sub come back out to tidy it up some more • Pool enclosure had some holes put in the screen by plaster crew-Bluehaven had the screen sub back out within a few days to completely replace, not patch, the screen • Pool bond wire got cut somehow before or during final grade-Bluehaven came out and re-grounded it Can you see a common theme? It has been my experience that if you point out a concern to Bluehaven, they are not going to leave you high and dry and bail on you or say….”it will look better when the water is in,” or “industry standard is x so not our problem,” or “it is just cosmetic so not my problem.” They are going to fix it if it is not the homeowners’ fault. I cannot say enough good things about Ronnie Green (designer and sales guy), Tyler Green (Project Manager), Steve Chapman (Senior Project Manager), Bob (pool Master Yoda with 70 years in the pool biz), Nick (new addition pool boy extraordinaire), and Jeff Martin (Regional Manager). Jeff…all these guys need raises except for Nick…since he just got there! I am a firm believer that accidents happen and things do not go as planned sometimes, but it is all about how your builder makes things right and fixes it. Nothing gets under my skin more than half/temporary/janky fixes to something. If you have an issue, Bluehaven-Jacksonville is going to fix it right. You see all these horror stories on Facebook and by word-of-mouth of how pool builders try to nickel and dime you and are dishonest. That has NOT been my experience with Bluehaven-Jacksonville. Yes, they are a little more expensive than their competitors, but with a pool, you definitely get what you pay for! We are looking forward to using our Bluehaven pool/spa for years to come!

Our sales associate was absolutely wonderful! I can’t recommend James Love any higher. However… The entire process of dealing with Blue Haven has been a nightmare. I would not recommend this company. There was little to no communication between the company during the construction phase. After the pool was finished, the deck was slipping and sinking to which they came out and fixed, and there were several other things that were incorrect that they fixed. There were some things they couldn’t fix like the return in the spa being crooked and the lights and bubbler on the sun shelf in the pool. The tubes being cut too short, so there’s a 2 inch divot down to the light and the bubbler. And now nine months later, I have parts of the pool that aren’t functioning and they’re trying to claim that their warranty does not cover it. Avoid this builder!

Overall, we are happy with our end product however there are a few factors to be aware of before signing to build with Blue Haven. First of all, our salesman and designer James Love was truly amazing and left us excited to start the process with Blue Haven. Pretty much everything was downhill from there. We had our initial meeting with Steve Chapman, who seemed like he was in a rush and didn’t spend more than 10 minutes talking to us—he came to get his papers signed off and left when we still had a lot of questions. After this meeting we never heard from or saw Steve again, and we are positive he never came to the job site again which felt a little strange for a project manager. Subcontractors showed up randomly to start different parts of our project with no warning at all, luckily my husband is home during the day and was able to talk to them personally when they did show up. One of Steve’s assistants, Tyler, also randomly showed up and clearly tried to get in and out quickly to avoid talking to us but luckily my husband caught him most of the time to get an update on how things were going. He was also rather condescending towards us regarding our concerns about lack of communication. Any time we called and left a message on the construction phone number, we never got a call back—I’d hate to know what would have happened had we actually had an emergency. Before our pool was even turned over to us, we had several pavers cave in on our deck and they forgot to install our blower for our spa. They said all this would be fixed but we’ve basically had to call and beg them to come out and finish it. We are happy with how our pool turned out, but in the end I don’t think we can in good faith recommend this company to anyone.

This would have probably been a 5 star review however there were some major communication failures with specifically Chandler Steedley. His failure to communicate to the sub contractors resulted in a 2 week setback in production. Now to get to the good portion. Sales and design experience with Nicole Nevins was absolutely the best. She took our undecided ideas and came up with an absolute dream of a design and assisted us with all the right choices. We didn’t feel any pressure and we beyond impressed with her professionalism. Tyler, Josh and Steven did a great job of answering all my concerns along the way of construction. Let’s face it this process can be very overwhelming. I used the analogy that everyone loves sausage but doesn’t like to see how it’s made. These 3 did a great job of explaining things to keep the anxiety down on things we don’t normally see. Finally Grayson is great at getting the pool operational and getting the chemicals set right and getting us swimming. Very helpful in explaining everything I need to do to keep the pool in top shape and understanding all the equipment.

We absolutely love our pool! Many complications along the way, but Blue Haven helped us through them wasn’t their fault. It was county issues/yard issues. I worked with Tyler Green he was very on the spot returned phone call showed up when I needed him. He made the Pool experience a true joyful experience. We have just finished Pool school . Grayson Pope was the one that came to make sure all of our equipment was working. He stopped by daily. He’s the one that did pool school with us very informative very friendly.. He let us know that he’s only a phone call away. He might regret that, but he was a joy also. Now it’s just time for fun in the sun!!

With all the contractor concerns and all the pop up fly by night options for pool builders, we are so happy that we chose Blue Haven with zero regrets. It was absolutely the best choice. During initial “we need a pool” we had multiple scheduled meetings with other pool builders. We thought what a MISTAKE; but this allowed us to see what none Desirable companies are out in the mix . It immediately became extremely clear that Blue Haven is head and shoulders above everybody else. Sometimes people focus only on the price however we focused on what group of employees are going to be in our home, yard and lives for a few weeks. This leads me to my point of trust I have full trust and faith in Blue Haven. They’re on top of things they communicate well and have dedicated personnel that are also monitored by project managers and believe it or not employees way up the management ladder are tracking your pool quality and progress. You never have to worry about things W/ Blue Haven there’s always somebody looking out. It made us feel extremely comfortable and truly proud that we chose Blue Haven

We had a FANTASTIC experience with Blue Haven. This is our 5th pool and I wish we had known about Blue Hsven for the other 4! The communication and workmanship is second-to-none! Our dig day was January 21st and they were filling on February 15th. After giving it a couple weeks to get all the salt right and get it sparkling clean, we were enjoying the spa! This company has really gone the extra mike to deliver EXACTLY what we asked for and expected! Beautiful results at a great price!
